Charcoal set Observational work (Left) Dry-Eyes (Right)
The first, an observational work, was an experiment in control and chaos. Using a syringe, I delicately placed globs of water on a marble surface, creating a mesmerizing pattern of drops. Despite their neat arrangement, there was an underlying uneasiness, a sense of impending chaos akin to being in the eye of a storm. Completed just after the end of grade 11, it encapsulated the tumultuous transition into summer, with exams behind me but the looming uncertainty of the year ahead.Meanwhile, "Dry Eyes," a spontaneous sketch of my own eye, emerged as a practice in self-reflection. Challenging myself to sketch without constant reference, I confronted the gaze of my own reflection with a raw intensity. The rough lines surrounding the eye mirrored the parched sensation of my own gaze, a subtle reminder of the inner turmoil I grappled with. Though initially a mere exercise in charcoal and observation, it unexpectedly became a catalyst for deeper introspection, sparking conversations with trusted confidants and revealing insights into my own psyche.Together, these works form a narrative of introspection and self-discovery, each capturing a fleeting moment of vulnerability and resilience. Through experimentation and reflection, they serve as reminders of the beauty and complexity found within the depths of the human experience.

Ignorant
Medium: Ink on canvas
Dimensions: 2 x 3 ft
Year: 2023
This artwork represents how I wish to be able to live, ignorant of others, flying through the views of others. The figure is meant to represent a happy man, his wings not of freedom or angelic powers but instead wings only to him, as he's ignorant of others and what they have to say. drifting through waves and streams of thoughts, the figure passes by the views or dots as he sees them and merely leaves them in his wake, seen below him as the confused and mismanaged swirls below. Never harming them, just leaving them away. He has no sense for he is ignorant. In this painting, I'd like to believe the man to be roaming in a city doing what he likes, genuinely attracting everyone's gasping and awestruck gaze, or perhaps a "grown man in a ballet dress with fairy wings?" He doesn't see this of course being ignorant of the world, and what he sees is what we see, himself ignoring everyone and just doing what he wants.

Puritys gaze
Medium: Oil on canvas
Dimensions: 3 x 4 ft
Year: 2023
This painting is what I’d describe when asked to talk about purity gazing upon perfection, Lanterns in a pitch blue sky with just the moon is in fact what I'd describe as perfection, and in this painting, we see how an image of purity, a child, wrapped in his blanket, protected from the world by hi pets, gazes upon perfection. The child sees nothing but wonder, and the beautiful scene has no negatives, but like children, he doesn't think and look into perfection enough, he doesn't notice the fire in the lanterns that if touched by the paper would destroy the glowing wonder, he doesn't see or think about the wind currents or the fact that even though the colours look together they are loosely still grouped All in all this painting is to discuss how every child views the world as perfect and how the world must be a blanket to purity until it matures

Lost
Medium: Digital
Dimensions: 1024 x 1280 pi
Year: 2023
When I saw people lose themselves trying to be someone they’re not, inspired my friends, and Macbeth. The artwork depicts the consequences of ignoring yourself and starving toward an irrational ideal, set not by yourself, but by others and their perception of what should be right. The figure has a solemn expression of innocence and confusion as their head begins to dissolve, they don't understand why this is happening the same way as though their whole lives, they would aim to become a perfect person never knowing what's actually good. Their ear is cut off as he never should've used it, and now that they're falling apart they refuse to use it, much like many who lose themselves become. Not listening or responsive.

Always Be Seen
Medium: Digital (animation)
Dimensions: 4310 x 4310 Length: 6 seconds FPS: 12 frames per second
Year: 2024
I wanted to draw my greatest fear, could never figure out what it was until I got sleep paralysis, and decided that the best way to deal with it is to draw what I feel during it, During sleep paralysis, I don't see the demon, it rather feels like when I close my eyes, the judgemental aspect of me wakes up and gazed at everything, and that terrifies me. Originally, I drew this as an Oil Painting, I later realized that maybe I'd be able to bring out my concept better through animation, and so I made this. Drawing this, or animating it, never really helped, but it definitely made it easier to be more open about it.

Empty Plot Project - 2024
Our school had requested for pitched on ideas that could be implemented on a new plot as our school's campus is expanding, This concept was made as our school only really had 1 "lounge" or sitting area for students, and it was had to sit at with rain, or sunny days. As our school's theme in 2024 was Innovation, I thought that adding a modern touch would be great too. therefore the polygonal design. The idea was declined due to budget issues.

Jitter-peeked Gaze
Medium: Watercolor/ Coffee/ Ink
Dimensions: 21 x 29.7 cm
Year: 2023
A self-portrait captures me, bewildered by something still elusive, less a puzzle and more a labyrinth.
This painting marks the beginning of losing myself, the inception of my understanding that being true to myself is paramount.
During this period, I craved attention, leading to significant weight loss. I acquired glasses from incessant staring at the sun, considering it "cool." I masked everything I disliked about myself with makeup, experimented with burning my hair, and adorned wigs.
After a couple of months, I gazed at my reflection, and the immediate thought echoed, "Hey, that's not me." Not said with disdain, but with a sense of relief.
As more months passed, looking in the mirror brought tears. This abrupt realization was perhaps the catalyst for my transformation, and I acknowledge the stroke of luck. I know many who might not have pulled themselves out.
This painting serves as both a homage to that time and a personal reminder of the journey.

Soulitude
Medium: Digital
Dimensions: 4000 x 4000 pi
Year: 2024
In "Soulitude," the fusion of "soul" and "solitude" suggests a deeply introspective theme, one that delves into the individual's inner world and perhaps hints at a sense of self-absorption or self-obsession.
The woman depicted, seated on a solitary hill with her eyes closed, embodies a state of introspective contemplation. Her closed eyes may signify a detachment from the external world, as she turns inward to focus on her own thoughts and emotions. The flaming baby bird, juxtaposed against the serene backdrop, serves as a striking symbol of fragility and transformation.
In interpreting this scene through the lens of self-obsession, we might consider the woman's fixation on the flaming bird as a reflection of her preoccupation with her own inner turmoil or personal journey. The intensity of the flames could symbolize the passionate intensity with which she pursues her own desires or goals, perhaps at the expense of meaningful connections with others.
The choice to depict the bird as a baby adds another layer of complexity. It could represent the woman's own inner child, her innocence or vulnerability, engulfed in the flames of her own inner struggles or aspirations. This portrayal suggests a paradoxical blend of fragility and strength, highlighting the delicate balance between self-discovery and self-absorption.
Overall, "Soulitude" invites viewers to ponder the complexities of the human psyche and the fine line between introspection and self-obsession. Its evocative imagery encourages reflection on the nature of solitude, identity, and the pursuit of inner fulfilment.

Swish
Medium: Digital
Dimensions: 9000 x 9000 pi
Year: 2024
This artwork encapsulates the spirit of women's empowerment, with the luminous white eyes symbolizing a profound inner resilience and potential. an artwork I decided to make after a skirt and uniform issue that occurred in our school where girls didn't get any support and were at many times hurt even more. The act of flipping her hair becomes a symbolic gesture, challenging societal norms and breaking free from traditional constraints. The divine white eyes radiate wisdom and untapped strength, underscoring the inherent power often overlooked in women. This celebrates the beauty found in strength, encouraging viewers to recognize the potent force within every woman. The composition speaks to the broader theme of defying limitations, inviting women to embrace their power and challenge preconceived notions. This piece, aims to evoke a universal sense of empowerment, inspiring a narrative that transcends individual identity and speaks to the collective strength of women.

Wilted Bloom
Medium: Acrylic on canvas
Dimensions: 3 x 3 ft
Year: 2023
Emerging from the challenges of the COVID era, my reunion with friends revealed their true selves. In the solitude of their homes, free from societal constraints, they embraced authenticity. This revelation was enlightening, fostering a deeper appreciation and dismantling the clichés within our batch. However, it's disheartening that, in less than three years post-online school, conformity to trends and unrealistic ideals has resurfaced. In my artistic endeavour titled "Wilted Bloom," I bring out the subject's genuine, unique self. This painting, created a few months after a friend resumed concealing their identity, is rendered in monochromatic blue, symbolizing the inherent sadness of this issue. The undulating background visually conveys how this societal pressure induces a trance-like state. Maintaining the depiction of his Afro signifies elements that remain unbidden. Yet, the four blooming flowers surrounding him represent how society blooms by draining the individual.

Self Burn
Medium: Digital
Dimensions: 2050 x 2800 pi
Year: 2023
The burnt tree, once a symbol of fiery vitality, now stands as a stark reminder of self-destruction. The singular flaming leaf, defiant in its fervour, symbolizes the paradoxical nature of personal battles—wherein the act of harming oneself is both a destructive and self-illuminating force. In the creation of "Self Burn," I draw upon my own experiences, particularly moments of profound vulnerability and self-hurt. The charred tree becomes a mirror reflecting the internal struggles, while the resilient flame embodies the flicker of hope that refuses to be extinguished. Amidst the desolation, the untouched grass surrounding the tree serves as a powerful metaphor for the resilience of life beyond personal suffering. Much like the verdant grass that thrives despite the scorched earth, the world persists, indifferent to the internal conflagrations.

Dichotomy of the Knight
Medium: Digital
Dimensions: 4000 x 4000 pi
Year: 2023
In "Dichotomy of the Knight," a solemn figure in a robe holds a blade, suspended between a vibrant, rainbow-infused realm above and a sombre, grey expanse below. This artwork explores the juxtaposition of conflicting emotions and realities within the warrior's existence.
The knight's robe signifies a sense of nobility and purpose, while the blade, adorned with a skull, alludes to the duality of life and death. The rainbow mess above him symbolizes a cacophony of emotions, a kaleidoscope of experiences that color his world with complexity.
Beneath the blade, a gray and desolate landscape conveys a sense of sadness and introspection. The dichotomy between the vibrant above and the subdued below suggests the internal struggles faced by the knight, torn between the complexities of life and the inevitability of mortality.
The background, a chaotic blend of rainbow lines and spirals, mirrors the tumultuous journey of self-discovery. The spirals represent the cyclic

An Exploration Into Pastels - Fashion Communication
Over the summer, I engaged in a variety of courses, one of which was a fashion communication program. This particular project delved into the realm of pastels as a thematic inspiration, propelling our creative abilities to craft two unique fashion ensembles. At the heart of our creative journey stood a thoughtfully constructed mood board, a visual guide that harmonized the gentle charm of pastels with an undercurrent of elegance and significance.
The main concept was to show irony by displaying a soft medium like pastels in a colder more modern and categorically "sharper" tone

Happy
Medium: Digital
Dimensions: 4000 x 4000 pi
Year: 2023
This captures the paradox of artificial happiness within a chemical bottle, its contents vivid green and embellished with a smiley sticker. The painting delves into the nuanced experience of knowing happiness is fake. The vibrant green acid signifies the synthetic nature of this emotional concoction, while the smiley sticker, ironically placed, reflects the deceptive allure of manufactured joy.
The artwork invites contemplation on the transient nature of happiness when it originates from external sources. The visual narrative explores the emotional emptiness concealed by cheerful elements, offering a poignant reflection on the toll of artificial happiness. Additionally, the piece subtly comments on society's inclination to seek euphoria through substances. The chemical representation parallels the pursuit of joy through drugs, prompting viewers to reflect on the consequences of relying on external stimuli for happiness.

Good Morning Medium: Oil on Canvas
Dimensions: 4 x 3 ft
Year: 2024
The eye, as the central motif of the artwork, serves as a powerful symbol of perception and insight. Within the context of surrealism, the eye often represents the subconscious mind, the gateway to our dreams and innermost thoughts. By surrounding the central eye with additional eyes, you're not only emphasizing the theme of perception but also suggesting a deeper level of introspection and self-awareness. I gained the idea by learning of the trend of drawing your greatest fears, and so I drew this, something that id see at night keeping me from sleeping
As the concept evolved into an animation, the imagery took on new dimensions. The multiple eyes could symbolize different perspectives or facets of a character's psyche, perhaps hinting at the complexity of human emotions and experiences. In motion, these eyes could convey a dynamic narrative, reflecting the protagonist's journey of self-discovery or the exploration of alternate realities.
Visually, the repetition of eyes creates a pattern, drawing the viewer deeper into the artwork's hypnotic allure. The transition from a static piece to an animated concept opens up endless possibilities for storytelling and visual experimentation. Whether exploring themes of identity, consciousness, or the surreal realms of the imagination, your artwork invites audiences to delve into the depths of perception and explore the mysteries of the mind.

A Masked Fall
Medium: Watercolor + Ink on paper
Dimensions: A4 sheet
Year: 2023
In my painting A Masked Fall, the background is filled with many buildings coming down, and there is a surreal atmosphere. The resulting visual show adds a contemporary storyline that examines the fine relationship between the individual and the constantly changing urban environment. It focuses one's thoughts on the pumpkin-headed masked figure standing before you. The combination of a graceful suit and the comical pumpkin mask adds interest through contrast. Is the mask an object of protection, a reaction to facelessness in urban society, or a refusal to dim oneself amidst collective decline?
The collapsing buildings and the mysterious figure as individual elements within observers who pass by the work stimulate a further search for meaning in society.
