Day 95

Horses

So this past week has been mentally rough a little. I decided it would be a good way to end the project on a positive note, so this final series will be related to gratitude. I’ve also heard that practicing gratitude is a good way to increase positive feelings. Today I’m grateful for horses: the ability to interact with one of the most beautiful and charming creatures on Earth, draw them, the fact that I have a horse of my own, and that I can ride as much as I can. I’m grateful for everything horses have brought to my life.

Wiser

I’ve tried to reflect on myself. Sometimes it can be really hard. What stares back at me can be really distorted, but with practice maybe my true self will appear more clearly.

Your Better Past is an Illusion

This entry is related to a construct I’ve been trying to change in my head: that my past was idyllic and I’ve only gone downhill as a person and mentally. That after a certain point, everything went to shit. Before, I wished I could go back to the past me. But that sort of thinking is false. There is no past you to return to, you are always growing and evolving. I am finding that you have to accept that to get the most out of your life.

New Place

I decided this next “series” of the project I would do is loosely based on the concept of “changes” – reflecting on changes in my life. This one is about feeling like a stranger in a new place.

Ok, restarting

I want to revive this project a little because although I have had some interesting entries with the 5 minute concept, many of them haven’t been good, and I feel like the project has lost a little bit. I don’t want to finish like that. Luckily, this week will be lighter workload wise, so I will have more energy to come up with better ideas.
