Countless times, Baekhyun has boarded planes to around the world and he could safely say at this point; traveling through the air was a routine, if anything a hassle. However, this flight was special- a private trip for him and fiancé (set up and planned very last minute to New York City in America) was anything but normal. Unboarding the 14-hour red-eye flight, the smaller man felt his gut twist with adrenaline and excitement. It was such a last minute spontaneous plan- and although he hated not being able to control the future, there was something about the thrill of leaving it up to luck to do things in the big city that gave him an exhilarating energy. 

Things like accommodations were, of course, planned and booked. They weren’t that crazy- And so their first night in the Big Apple was short and sweet. The timezone difference and the flight had them way tuckered out. Ignoring unpacking their suitcases, he curled up beside his equally exhausted lover, falling asleep with all the pure happiness of a child, anticipating and wondering what tomorrow’s adventure held.

Not much longer- Baekhyun woke up with the rising sun. Not exactly being well rested, he could feel his hair sticking at unnatural angles and his droopy eyes having horrendous eye bags beneath them but despite his exhausted appearance, the day was starting now. He knew they didn’t have a lot of time together so he had to make sure they both had the best time together in America. For a few minutes, he sat up staring at the wall in the dark hotel room. After letting his brain startup he realized that he had no clue where things were. There was a “Korea Town-”, a street basically, he was told that was lined with Korean restaurants and stores. Instead of walking about he felt it was best safe to start there and make a game plan. 

His fiancé hadn’t woken up yet despite the smaller’s fidgeting and movement next to the other male. The time was about seven am- the sun was slowly beginning its climb up the tall notorious skyscrapers of Manhatten, the glass windows reflecting beautiful (yet blinding) shades of deep orange into their room. Slowly creeping up on top of the sleeping man, Baekhyun began viciously attacking his lover’s cheeks with kisses, giggling filling the quiet room as he was unable to contain his laughter of his silliness.

“Psst~ baby! Wake up we’ve got a whole day to have fun~!”

time has flown by so fast.. it’s unbelievable how fast these months flew by us.. we’ve really grown so much from when we first began dating ㅎㅎ. i often look back at our journey together and im always so in awe of how far we’ve come together as a team~ heh. 365 days is a long time to be with someone and even though you’ve known me as a member of EXO- as a lover of mine, you’ve seen and you know who I am more intimately. in my last letter i went back from the start of our relationship as friends to our transition as lovers. in this one, i want to write about our love that has grown even more over this year. 

i knew love was strong. i knew love could grow but my gosh, chanyeol you’ve blown my mind away about showing how much my heart could love. i thought every moment my heart was at its peak of absolute love for you and it was- but it wasn’t at the same time because every moment it’s at its peak. i love you more every day and moment. it keeps growing and there’s not a moment where it falters for you. i remember asking you moments after you asked me out if it was too soon to say i love you (which later i was greatly flustered about for asking because hell- i should have just said it ㅎ) and i was so shy because as friends we’ve told each other “i love you” but suddenly it had an entirely different meaning. chanyeol- you literally changed the definition of love for me.

we’ve had our ups and downs and through times when it was difficult for us to be together we pushed through... we fought for each other and that means the world to me. the fact that at the times where i became intolerable you tolerated me and told me you still loved me so much.. god.. those are the times i know i really am the luckiest man in the entire universe~ i love you so much. there’s not a song, poem, picture or even words to describe how much you mean to me.

my chanyeollie~ there’s so much to love about you. there’s so much more to love about you~ you have the biggest heart i’ve ever seen. you’re so precious and dear to my heart and to those around you. you shine brightest out of all the night sky stars.. you’re so big and manly for a boy whose heart is as pure as a child’s~ 

I’ve been given the best partner/lover ever to go through life. I really didn’t know what love was before i met you~ you’ve shown me so many things in love.. you’ve helped me so much for us... and as we spend more years together, i truly can not wait to see what life has in store for us~ I’m grateful and so unbelievably happy to spend my forever with you~ thank you for having faith in me. thank you for loving me. thank you for an amazing one year~ i love you so much. sosososomuchh~~ hehe

“what’s.. holding me back?” baekhyun repeated softly, almost as if he was asking the question to himself. an involuntary rush of thoughts and emotion suddenly overwhelmed him before he shook his head in an attempt to rid of all of them. “i guess.. i’m scared. as much as like to say i’m adventurous, trying new things scare me… but i normaly get over it. i don’t know why i  can’t let go of this one though..” he mumbled glancing nervously at the other male.

baekhyun found it hard to keep his serious persona as he had to hold down the fits of laughter that threatened to spill while he fit the small paper cone around the taller. “this is what you get though! you need to be punished for spilling juice all over my carpet!! okay, im going to take a picture now so smillleee~” the elder grinned knowing that pictures weren’t part of the deal but the opportunity was just too golden to pass up, so quickly without warning he pulled out his phone snapping several candid photos before bolting to another room with a loud laugh.

Sometimes it's hard to get in depth with your muse and their backstory, because you can't figure out how to bring those things up with others. Here are a couple of starters intended to make things a little more personal!
