fun little question for therian tumblr

Any of y'all have shifts that just, never go away? My phantom ears and tail never go away, unless I'm having a shift for one of my other theriotypes since they usually don't blend together. Them phantom ears and tail be going HARD all the time. Paws are also a near constant.

Yeah yeah yeah ribbon seal mood boardddd. I haven't seen a lot of seal things, let alone ribbon seals, so here you go. Ribbon seals primarily live in the Bering sea (between Russia and Alaska). Males tend to be dark with white stripes, where as females tend to be silver or light brown with white stripes.

I want to do more silly species and less recognised ones for all my therian friends who have a hard time finding content for themselves. What animals would you like to see me make a moodboard of?

No matter how funky your identity may be, you don't owe anyone an explanation for it. The only one who needs to understand it is you. And even then, you don't need to fully understand your own identity.

That being said I really want to try and explain my identity, simply just to see how I would put such a thing into words- or maybe even pictures. I think it could be fun!!! So later I'm going to try and do that, and if no one else understands what I mean, oh well. I think it will help me better understand what I mean.

Quadrobics tip!!!

Instead of keeping your body parallel with the ground while running, pushing up with your back legs (while keeping hands off the ground) and landing on your hands like a mini jump goes a long way.

Animals do this as well, if you slow down videos of them running. So i decided to try this and it actually helps me stop faster and not trip over my arms.

i went to an oddities expo the other day to look at all the weird stuff they had. there was a lot of taxidermy and with that a TON of tails. i ended up buying a couple tails just because I'm big on taxidermy and whatnot, didn't really think about using it as gear. turns out this is some serious species-affirming stuff. the species euphoria from wearing a tail is UNREAL. did not expect it. 10/10 would recommend investing in a tail if that's your thing.

bonus points because they're really good quality and I got to talk to the sellers about where they sourced their tails

As per the poll (that's not technically finished yet but oh well) leopard seals won! I personally am very discomforted by leopard seals, their mouths are just so strange.

Fun facts:

Leopard seals are the only seals that eat warm blooded prey, including other seals (justifying my leopard seal fear). They are also relatively aggressive compared to other seal species.

They can reach up to 3.5 meters/11.5 feet long, making them the same size as an average walrus.
