Finally found a source for Ares teaching his Amazon daughters how to fight!!!
"Near the inhospitable side of the Pontus, along which the Taurus Mountains extend, there, on the firm land around which the rivers Thermôdôn and Phasis flow as they come out of the mountains, are said to dwell some Amazons, whom both their father and nurturer, Ares, taught to be engaged in affairs of war and to live a life armed and on horseback." (Philostratus. On heroes. 57.3)

Do you sometimes think that the lotus-eaters by sending Odysseus and his men to the cyclop's cave acted just like your mom, with this: you can eat dinner I made or eat nothing???
(quite literally)

So I made a page on Instagram about art in general and mostly fanpage for every hyperfixation I get. Now I'm on Epic the musical and I wanted to share it with everyone.
Username is purpleflame53 for anyone interested.

I know I'm not going to finish it for a while, but here's a WIP of Thetis and Eurynome rescuing a freshly dropped baby Hephaistos.
I really hesitated to depict Eurynome as a mermaid, but since the only physical description we have of her is the odd mention of her xoanon in Pausanias, and "mermaids" are otherwise mostly unknown to greek mythology, I decided to go for it in the end.
Hopefully I'll finish It and not leave it forgotten in the Procreate graveyard

My Goodbye late thoughts
You know, Athena really sinks in my estimation during My Goodbye
Odysseus was totally right with all this "selfish and prideful and vain" as she literally abandons him after one disagreement and can't even for one minute relate to man's perspective and all
BUT
Hitting her with "You're alone"?
damn.
Brother, you will die in like 20, 30 years? For her, this friendship would last maybe like a month or sth. Every time she gets attached mortals, they die in the blink of an eye
And I don't really think that gods make good friends with all this "Ruthlessness is mercy" or smoking weed with their grandsons, cuz Athena really needed someone with the same goals as her (like our beloved Odysseus) and not just dudes around
She's alone cuz she is not AS bad as other gods and she has an actual mission to complete, yet she can only be understood by mortals who, well, die like flies from her immortal point of view.
Her sanity is paid for with her loneliness.
Quite tragic.
But all "my goodbye" was still a bitch move from her and I will always stand by our neither man nor mythical, our darkest moment, the infamous Odysseus side
