sorry if u were being silly and I misunderstood, but the last season is lit more similarly to breaking bad, particularly the scenes that show saul Goodman -post his relationship with Kim. (unless you’ve also seen bb and disagree? I just thought the lighting was to a) homage bb and b) to show how false “saul’s “life was)
naur I know it's deliberate but it's still done so bad and looks so ugly it's wayyyy darker than anything in brba is the way brba is lit is way more warm and like covers the shot a lot better? the bcs scenes that take place in brba look like they're lit exclusively by spot lighting while brba definitely has at least something doing ambient occlusion especially in sauls office, and everything is tinted really cold so it just looks really ugly lmao. it might just be bc it's digital v film but idk. even the original it wasn't me it was ignacio scene is light brighter so you can see what's going on vs the bcs version. and it's funny because I know that they 99% did that in order to hide the age of the cameo actors / bob but like. the darkness just makes them look older. it picks out lines and roughness in the face that you wouldn't see if it was lit brighter or more normally.
and it's not even just those scenes like point and shoot is so fucking dark. fun and games is horribly dark. I know they can shoot dark scenes with enough light to see it better I've been seeing them do that in all the prior seasons but they just made it ugly for no reason
