[may 17th 2024] hey guys uh it's Kacper again. I'm a 24 yr old autistic polish trans guy who lives in england. I work a minimum wage job to make money for rent and food, but I don't make much more than that atm due to the scarce amounts of shifts we've been getting during the dry season at work. And uhhhh shit is kind of dire
this is kind of real urgent and I don't know what else to do. I have commissions open with more info (here) (dm for enquiries) but I'm so stressed I am struggling to focus on that :''')
my P-PAL is HERE

Before they were metaphors
they were someone’s city.
They were a lover’s beach,
a weekly market visit, a daily drive home.
Before they were victims,
before we were victims,
we were beloveds.
Before you were a survivor,
you were someone’s light.

This fundraiser belongs to @amjad20011, who is trying to evacuate his family of 3 from Gaza. Amjad, his wife, and his 2 and a half year-old son have been displaced multiple times. Their fundraiser is legitimate, and it is very low on funds with just over 5% of their €25,000 goal met.
Please reblog this and Amjad's other posts on his blog to share his fundraiser with as many people as possible, and donate what you can! Every little bit counts, and time is of the essence in Gaza. Let's do everything we can to help Amjad and his family!

I was wondering if you knew any tender poems about friendship? if not, that's totally cool!! :)
“[First full moon of a new and final decade]” by June Jordan
“Poem Read At Joan Mitchell’s” by Frank O’Hara
“Ode to Elliott Smith, Ending in the First Snowfall of 2003” by Hanif Abdurraqib (he once said that Frank O’Hara’s friendship poems/the way he casually mentioned his friends by name in his poems was something that meant a lot to him and I love how you can see in this poem that he did the same)
“The Orange” by Wendy Cope
“Scrambled Eggs and Whiskey” by Hayden Carruths
“acknowledgements” by Danez Smith
(if you’ve noticed that in all these poems there’s a deliberate use of their friends’ names and specific references it’s because it’s something I find very heartwarming. they’re not writing poems about something meant to be relatable they’re just writing because they love their friends and that makes me ! inside)
“To All My Friends” by May Yang
“For Tom Shaw S.S.J.E. (1945–2014)” by Mary Oliver
