Saw all these inid head canon posts soI’m sharing one of my own:

Initial D Characters and their pets

Fujiwara family- they’ve always been too poor to keep anything officially, but Bunta and Takumi both feed the ally way cats

Speed Stars- I haven’t figured out anything too specific but I share @steakrogers ‘s HC that Kenji owns a ferret that acts as the Speed Stars mascot.

Mogi- her family owns a gorgeous orange long haired cat named something very stereotypical for a cat

Takahashi family- Ryosuke had a gold fish before Keisuke was born but since then his family never allowed pets. Even still Keisuke would try to bring home and keep any animal he found. In the Sims I gave Keisuke a jack Russel.

Kenta- he has a pet hamster at his parents. On free weekends he’ll dress it up for photos.

Fumihiro- he grew up on a farm so has plenty of experience with ungulates and fowl. Really wishes that capybara can be kept as a house pet, settles on a couple of guinea pigs. When he “grows up” he wants a big dog.

Nakazato- he’s never had a pet but he’s always dreamed of having a Bunny

Shingo- He has owned rats since high school, replacing them whenever they die so the other doesn’t get lonely. Despite his unkept appearance and attitude the rats are well taken care of with more space in his apartment than he has

Impact Blue- Mako has a well kept salt water fish tank which Sayuki helps to try to feed every so often. Sayuki is a designer dog enjoyer and might get one if they get a bigger place. Mako’s mom owns a crusty maltese and Sayuki’s grandparents own a gloster canary.

Wataru- He reads as some sort of tank creature owner, unsure if it’s a mammal like a hamster or a reptile like a gecko, whichever his parents always goaded him into sharing the pets chores with his sister and sometimes cousin.

Kyoichi- he owns no pets personally but on occasion he has to pet sit his grandmothers chihuahua, everyone on Iroha can’t help but think they’re very alike

Seiji- owns a cat he picked up on the side of the road. Like Keisuke, he tries to be friends with every animal but his apartment only allows one pet. Constant user of the phrase ‘if not friend why friend shaped’

Kai- he has always been a bug kid, keeping beetles he find in the wild. As an adult he owns a tarantula named Dumpling. Most of his friends are too afraid of the tarantula to come into his room when they hang out.

Todo School- own a shop cat or two

Rin- in an alternate universe where his fiancé doesn’t get fridged and their relationship is healthy, I like to think they own a black mastiff.

FLUFFTOBER24 Day 1: Lost Pet, Meet Cute (Demelurina [Bombalurina/Demeter])

My first entry for Flufftober 2024, going for a ship I never wrote in Cats - Demelurina, which I know @rabnerd28 is always looking for more content for, so hope you like this one! TW for implication of toxic background relationship. RATING: T. Word Count is 1490.

Demeter knew the sun was already starting to set, reaching orange beams around the white birch trunks and filtering through the small twigs littering the forest floor. It wasn’t so much a “forest” as it was really just a little patch of trees, but with the dusk falling on her, eyes peeled for any sign of the little dog that belonged to her and Macavity, it seemed to threaten to stretch on forever. 

I have to find Terry, I have to! 

She forced herself to swallow, clenching her fists, pinpricks of fingernails etching into the flesh of her sweaty palms. Her heart thundered, an ache pulsed in her temple, throat feeling like it would close up any time. 

Where are you?! 

“TERRY!” 

Where was that dog?

I knew I should’ve kept him on a leash! 

Maltesers, after all, weren’t exactly the biggest of dogs, and in the browns and golds and reds of a dusky autumn evening, he was sure to camouflage into the sunlight and the forest floor. 

“Terry!” 

She didn’t want to think of Macavity’s reaction, how angry--furious--he would be with her. This was his dog (but she liked to think it was theirs, all the same), his property, his bestie. 

But surely, surely this dog couldn’t have gone far, not on such tiny and tottery legs!.

How far can a tiny Maltese even go? 

She shouted several more times, and at one point she imagined she might have heard an answering bark, or was it just her imagination? 

Oh no, oh no…

Maybe she could stay overnight here, maybe she should go to Alonzo, he would absolutely hide her for the night, protect her from Macavity--

She needed to call the RSPCA--

Demeter stayed still for a minute, eyes scanning the forest, slowly turning on the spot, leaves crunching under her feet, a twig snapped under one of her heels. 

“Looking for someone?” 

Demeter jumped, yelped in fright as she whirled around to see a figure standing several feet away from her, silhouetted against the setting sun. Her mouth ran dry, throat constricting again as the figure took a few cautious steps toward her, holding what appeared to be a--

“Terry?!” Demeter croaked.

She squinted into the intense sun, and she now could make out what appeared to be a woman’s figure, her hips wide and curvaceous, legs long and slim, and--

And she had the most gorgeous face Demeter had ever seen, with wide brown eyes, a long nose, and red lips parted in a look of concern. Were they that naturally red, or was it lipstick? 

“Your dog?” the woman asked. “I heard you calling out--” 

“Y-yeah, my dog,” Demeter stammered, unable to tear her eyes away from this visage--the setting sun behind her surrounded her head so it looked like a golden halo. 

Like an angel come to help her. 

Terry, meanwhile, was cradled in the woman’s arms, his head on her shoulder, snorting and snoring a little. Her angel--whoever she was--gently scratched Terry’s head, her fingernails glittering with red nail polish. 

“Are you okay?” the woman asked, taking another step closer, stopping when Demeter motioned for her to stay where she was. 

Demeter nodded, still unable to find her voice. The woman smiled, and now Demeter realised how tall she was--an angel and an Amazon it seemed. 

She was, in a word, gorgeous. 

“Here, I’ll hand him to you,” the woman said, smile broadening, revealing perfect, straight, white teeth. “He snores a lot, I take it?” 

Demeter wasn’t sure whether the woman was joking or not, but either way, she couldn’t disagree that Terry’s snores were quite loud. 

“Does he fall asleep a lot?” the tall lady asked. “That’s how I found him, all curled up in a patch of leaves.” 

“Oh.” Demeter managed, holding her arms out so the woman could deposit the dog in her embrace. 

And she tried her hardest not to think about how close the other woman was to her, the way her long fingers brushed against the backs of her hands, how she was a whole head taller, and that smile again. Confident eyes locked with Demeter’s, and the latter couldn’t help but gaze right back, and suddenly deep brown eyes were her favourite eye colour. She could smell, too, some spicy scent, probably some kind of exotic perfume, and now she wanted to know what it was, so she could find it, and wear it to be reminded of--

She didn’t even know this woman’s name. 

And all too soon, much, much too soon, the woman stepped away from her, the dog now safely deposited in Demeter’s arms. The air was too cold, too stale, and she longed again for how close she had been just a second ago. Terry snorted as he flopped his head onto Demeter’s shoulder, his body heavy and warm in her arms, but all she could think now was of this woman whose name she didn’t even know yet. 

And she wanted to--

“Name’s Bombalurina,” the woman introduced herself, reaching a hand out to pet Terry, stroking down his back, her nails catching the weakening sunlight. Her eyes scanned Demeter’s face, and oh god, the way she bit her bottom lip like that--

“Demeter,” Demeter introduced herself. 

“Demeter…” Bombalurina echoed, drawing out each syllable. “I was going to say, you look familiar.” 

That was unexpected. Demeter was sure if she’d seen Bombalurina around before, she would not have forgotten this visage of beauty. 

“I do?” 

“Mm,” Bombalurina hummed, her eyes locking onto Demeter’s again. “I have seen you around before, back in town.” 

Has she seen me with… with…

“I’ve never seen you,” Demeter said, but now she wasn’t so sure. 

Had she seen Bombalurina before? 

“Do you want me to walk home with you?” 

Demeter’s heart almost leaped out of her chest. 

“Yes!” she almost shouted. “I want--I mean I’d like that.” 

Bombalurina now moved her eyes to look at the Maltese dog again, hand stilling on his back. 

“I know I’ve seen Terry before,” she murmured, again biting her lower lip like that, her teeth just peeking from her upper lip as she bit near the corner of her mouth. 

“You have?” 

Bombalurina was quiet for a long moment, looking deep in thought, the sun now fully setting behind her, the gold light catching in her hair in a way that took Demeter’s breath away. 

“Can I walk with you?” Bombalurina asked suddenly. “Even if just a little way? Just to know you’ll get home safe.” 

“Really?” Demeter asked, and oh god she really, really wanted Bombalurina to walk with her. Just a little while, but not too far. 

“We may as well,” Bombalurina said, stepping back as she withdrew her hand from Terry’s back, now rummaging in her pocket until she pulled out her phone. “Just be a minute while I tell my friend I’ll be a bit late for his party.” 

“Friend?” 

Bombalurina hummed in response, busy with her cellphone. 

“We like to flirt all the time, all in fun, but never serious.” 

“Never serious,” Demeter echoed. 

She sorely wanted to ask if Bombalurina was attached, but refrained, her heart already breaking at the idea. Bombalurina no doubt was already with someone. 

“You probably have heard of him, or seen him around,” Bombalurina continued. “The Rum Tum Tugger?” 

Demeter groaned involuntarily, before biting her tongue, a little too late now, realising too late how rude that sounded. 

“Sorry, I just… I just don’t--he’s a little much for me.” 

Bombalurina chuckled, and Demeter was positive she’d never heard one that sounded so musical. 

“He is, but that’s why I love him.” Bombalurina tapped her phone quickly, like she was typing a message. “Done.” She looked again at Demeter, eyes again studying her. “While we’re at it, I’d love your number, if you don’t mind?” 

Demeter stared at her, speechless, taken aback at such a forward and bold request. Not that she minded, of course, but from this woman? With such an extravagant name like Bombalurina? From this gorgeous visage who had appeared from the trees like an angel come to save the day? 

Yes. She could have her number any day. 

“Of course,” Demeter said, after she’d gotten over her initial surprise.

“Tea or coffee or something else?” Bombalurina asked, a little smile lilting at the corner of her perfect mouth. “I like to know these things, minor as they are.” 

“Coffee.” 

“Coffee, huh? Excellent. There we are, I have your name as Demeter. What’s your number?” 

Demeter gave her number, and Bombalurina put her phone back once satisfied she had the correct one. 

“Perfect.” 

So are you, Demeter thought, but could not bring herself to voice. 

“Now let’s walk, shall we?” 

There was no world in which Demeter could ever say no to walking in the sunset with this beautiful woman who had found her dog and got her number. 

Perhaps things might look up after all.

How TXT and Enhypen often feel like the two sides of a same coin (in my very modest opinion)

I just have a lot of thoughts in my head so I will ramble here (warning : english is not my first language, so there will most probably be misspelled words and confusing wording) :

• Their vibes : cat coded and dog coded

I'm not sure how to explain it, but to me TXT are such a cat coded group while Enhypen are such a dog coded group

- I mean yeah, okay, Tubatu has Kai the golden retriver and Gyu the maltese. BUT they also give me such strong orange cat vibes. Very playful, a little mischievous, ready to run away anytime before coming back to get food and scratches.

- And yeah Enha has Jay and especialy Jungwon, the kittiest person ever. BUT as a group they are also such dog people ? (I do realized the irony giving the BTHB MV but it's also giving "big guard dogs chasing the smart cat" imo). Also I guess I'm biased by the fact that the members show off their dogs so often.

• Their cuteness : obvious and """hidden"""

The amount of cute agression both groups trigger in me is astonishing, but is quite different ways :

- I feel like tubatu "show off" their cuteness more ? (Not the perfect word but you get the idea). I just feel like they broadcast it more often at least.

- But enha, they try their best to look cool and confident (and they do), but there is nothing cuter than a cool looking guy trying (and failing) to hide his cute side. When the confidence mask breaks and then they're all eyes smile and giggles and bread cheeks and- ugh. ADORABLE.

Actually, I think this is linked to my next point :

• Their image : bestie and boyfie

Like any boygroups, they have their part of romantic fanservice to do. However, I feel like the impacts are a little different, most probably because of their respective lore.

- In my opinion, despite the romantic tone of many of their songs, Tubatu's lore is more about growing up, and the complications and challenges that come. It's mostly centered around them and their emotions/reactions than anything, so the fans are supposed to relate to it. Outside of the MVs, during concerts, fanmet, etc., I just don't feel like they do that much fanservice ? (Taehyun on weverse being the exception lol). I guess this has a lot to do with what the fans ask from them too, but from what I see I feel like they keep this friendly vibe on top of everything. (Also their passion for pokémon. Very bestie thing to share. Love it.).

- On the other end, Enha's lore revolves around their relationship with their love interest (Sooha, Chloé, the cat, Engene...). The whole "bf vibe" is an important part of their promotion, especially in the most recent XO era. And of course there is all the fanservice that come with it (isn't it, Mr. EVAN LEE ? 🤨). Once again, the fans' reaction to it, especially during fanmeting, only fuels this impression I guess (their fanbase has quite the reputation for being delulu, after all...).

Tylvinian Tales: The Wolf's Den

Chapter One, Paragraphs 1-3

The crowd before me cheered, bodies jumping, moving, writhing in time with the beat of the music pouring into the room. As the bass thumped, feet stomped, and the thrum of the dance floor could be felt all around. At the center of the crowd, with people on all sides of him, dancing with wild abandon and not a care in the world, there amid the excitement stood David Seltz. He was my best friend in the world, the man I’d grown up with and spent the better part of my life with so far. Entirely platonic, of course. We were friends, and even with our jokes and the games of chicken we would play, it never went further than that.

My name is Ryder Trayson, I’m a Grey Greatwolf. I live in Tylvin, the capitol city of Ferus, where I work as a freelance musician. I’m pretty tall, standing a little over seven feet. My fur is a greyish blue color, and my eyes are amber orange. Most of the time I work as a DJ for various clubs around the city, but tonight I was working for free. It was worth it, given I was playing for one man’s most important day of the year. It was the twenty-third day of Fina, year four thousand and nineteen. David’s twenty-first birthday. He had asked me to play for him tonight, even offering to pay me, but I couldn’t do that to him.

I was honored he wanted me to perform for his birthday and the idea of making him pay me for it left a bad feeling in my stomach. The music swelled, and the crowd lost themselves in its ebb and flow as the melody played. I had a buffet of stimulation before me. Sights, sounds, smells, textures. But my eyes kept drifting back to the hybrid dancing in the center of the crowd. David. He was a caxy, a hybrid between fox and cat species. He was half snow fox and half Maltese, a blend that worked well together if he and his sister’s physique and fur patterns were anything to go by. They were all monochrome shades. Greys, whites, blacks. The only splash of real color they had on them was their hair and their eyes.

Chapter 1, Paragraphs 1-3

The bar was crowded tonight. I didn't usually do work for places like this, my music was more fitting for the clubs and dance halls around town. But tonight was a special circumstance. My best friend, David, was having his 21st birthday party here and had asked if i'd DJ for him, even paying off the bar owners to let me bring my own gear here. This place was special to him. It was where he found his first real love, before they had left him and moved off to god knows where. I couldn't really fault David for wanting his birthday party here, and who am I to turn down a request as simple as this for a friend?

My name's Ryder. Ryder Trayson. I'm 22 years old, and I've been a DJ ever since I was 14. I've known David since I was 3, and we've never been any less than best friends. There's not a lot to say about me. I like music, I work out now and then, not that I need to. Being a Great Grey Wolf has its perks, including a healthy dose of muscles that most would kill for. Of course, it also comes with a massive appetite. I can eat just about as much as the hungriest hog and still want more. But hey, you're not here to listen to me go on about myself forever. Let's get back to the story, yeah? One more thing about me is that I don't care much for talking about me.

The music blared throughout the building, and I could see some of the patrons getting irritated and complaining to workers. Probably regulars that weren't used to people having fun. I felt my phone buzz in my pocket and, after setting up the next couple songs to play on their own, I checked it. David had texted me saying he wanted me to play Digging Alone, a pretty upbeat song that I had promised to play before the night was up. I cancelled the other two songs in the queue and, as the current song finished, I gave my best wolfish grin, turned off the music, and grabbed my mic. "Alright everyone, we got a request from the big man himself! So you can thank him for the next beat!" I let out a howl of excitement as I turned on the song, and heard a chorus of cheers from the crowd below as the music began.

My writing has changed so, so much, and I'm honestly so much happier with the new version. The old one is outdated and painful to read cause like, WOW there's so much stuff that's just a result of the inexperience.
