   He looks the same as he had that fateful day, a storm raging around him and risking sending the ship down into the abyss. Hair whipping in the wind as the sky roars its deadly challenge echoed by the beasts they all sought to bring down those centuries ago. 

   It looks just as human as they- that is to say not at all, not anymore. A body twisted, sand and lightning melding into a molten sea ever-expanding. Its eyes as gold as the treasure it guards, brilliant blues and greens dancing across bodies in sigils unknown. 

   It looks exactly as it did that time ago, smile dancing on its lips as the sky opened up in torrents, like blood gushing from a wound. “You’re free to go,” it says, in words they understand and words they don’t. “You don’t have to stay here any longer.” 

   “Where will we go?” They ask, so very tired of this eternal battle, of being trapped in crashing waves and storms of water and sand. Being tossed one way and the other, never able to go home, for home was gone long ago. 

   It looks up, their own gaze following, the ship crashing through the dredges of a storm they had thought eternal. And for the first time in eternities, they see them. The stars. Dancing and dripping from a serpentine form that cradles the Sun and Moon, smiling down to the beast and them alike. 

   And so, they take from the seas, and take to the stars instead.

I think it’s so ironic that the Pony Express escapes a lot if not all blame in discussion. I can’t even say I am excused from it but it’s just how hard people circle back to the characters alone without considering the environment they were made to be in.

Why would they design a ship where only two of the rooms lock? Not the bathroom? Not the sleeping quarters? We assume that all the companies in the universe are this shallow and careless to their workers but we explicitly know the Pony Express in extra vile. They are fed processed slop pack they can’t even really cook and the ration of those pack is meager at best. They hired and made people with a plethora of conflicting demeanors and beliefs work together on a mission where cohesion is important if not an outright necessity and punish them for not being happy about it. There’s no social protocols, not chain of command other than Captain’s word/choice and the only way to enforce that is with a literal firearm. They don’t allow them to celebrate freely and even took away leisure activities that would make them less stir crazy. They are only allowed a few hours of sleep despite their being no other real responsibilities or work on the ship, no matter the position or its importance. With any crew, with any level of synergy, this was a powder keg waiting for a spark.

I’m not saying characters that made mistakes didn’t make huge ones, but I think part of the horror is that at least for some (this is targeting Jimathan) those mistakes are partly made by a force of the hand. There’s a running theme of lack of choice and being forced into something and the very nature of how The Pony Express expected them to function plays a big part.

Uhmmmmm soo. Over the past few months I've been seeing a lot of complaints or comments that digimon has too many designs which essentially boil down to “There are too many designs that are just humans in costumes.”

And for a while I just nodded my head and went Yeah Alright, because I Understood where it was coming from (the way most perfect + ultimate levels tend to become more humanoid over their predecessors) and thought it was a valid complaint even if I don’t agree. But eventually it got to the point where I got legitimately invested in wanting to know How Many Digimon there were that you could classify as “basically humans” and well. Here I am.

For the past week or so I came up with my own “categories” and counted how many digimon fit under each category to then later put into a graph like the one you see above ^

I did all of this for like, first and foremost My Own Interest, but I decided to share the results anyways in case someone else thinks this topic of discussion is interesting? I'll include as well under a read more a more in depth guide to the data i've accumulated as well

FYI, Important disclaimers: This is all highly subjective. Im not trying to claim these are any sort of objective categories canon to Digimon or that the results are objectively canon. You may think some or all of these categories are deeply redundant, or you will disagree with me over what counts as say, A Monster or A Furry or A Humanoid, and that’s fine. There are also digimon excluded from the total, most notably digimon that are cameo/minor characters in a singular digimon property, or recolours (ie Gabumon versus Psychemon) or which had minute design differences (Like, almost all of the different Agumons) because I thought including all of that was redundant or unnecessary. If there was a major difference in designs (ie Original Falcomon versus 2006 Savers Falcomon) however I did consider it as a separate design. Also, no X antibody designs were included, because oh my god there are already so many digimon and the X antibody designs could probably merit its own pie chart.

just remembered that leo isn’t the only one of the seven who knows morse code… annabeth chase, you dork love of my life.

thinking about how those two would have interacted. It probably didn’t happen too often. but when it did, I bet he reminded her of Percy during his first year of camp, cracking jokes because it’s the only bit of normal left to hold on to.

maybe on warship-festus, when they’re all in close quarters all of the time, she notices Leo talking to himself in morse. It’s gibberish mostly, just making rhythms out of the alphabet patterns he already knows. Other times, he’s talking to himself so animatedly Annabeth can hardly believe it’s all in taps against a table. Then there’s the times he’s anxious, which is about equal to the amount of times he’s not anxious— demigod things. The spastic patterns reduce to the same few, repeated over and over and over until someone tells Leo to cut it out with the tapping and Leo moves to tap mutely against his leg instead. the letters spell out ‘I LOVE YOU’ , every time without fail. Never stutters or trips up, like tapping out this one message was more ingrained in Leo than a mistake could ever be.

she asks about it one day, when she can’t hold back her curiosity any longer. (she’s gotten better at that, actually, and she’s very proud of herself.)

“Why to you say ‘I love you’ to yourself in morse code when you’re anxious?”

Leo startles and accidentally sets off a few sparks from his fingers, babbling out some shoddy excuse. Annabeth just raises an eyebrow, deadpan and unimpressed, a move of hers that’s notoriously successful. Leo cringes, clears his throat a few times, and tells her the real story. He doesn’t look her in the eyes the whole time, and links his hands together tightly when he notices he’s beginning to anxiously tap out the pattern again subconsciously. She nods along, making sure to emphasize her empathy instead of giving Leo some of those shallow “so sorry”s he’s probably sick of hearing by now. She shares how she learned morse from a parent too, and tells him she’s here to talk if he needs, whether out loud or in morse code. As Annabeth leaves, curiosity satisfied and mission accomplished, she doesn’t notice the baffled “wait-what-just-happened” sort of look Leo gives her as she walks away with a nod. Annabeth tends to get that expression a lot from everyone.

My Randy best look would be the kp au since I refused to give him the blue eyes. Black eyes compliment his look here than the style I normally do with rc9gn or just in general

Levi may not be overly affectionate, especially out in public, but I feel that he would be the type of guy who always kissed your hand. I can see him just holding your hand and every so often bring the back of your hand to his lips, giving it a soft kiss. He would do it all the time. When he’s driving and holding your hand, he brings it to his lips. Out in public holding hands and walking around with him? Hand kiss. Anxious or scared? He’s rubbing soothing circles on your hand with his thumb before kissing each knuckle.

Bonus points if you surprise him and kiss his hand, his face would turn a little red and he would be caught so off guard, but he would absolutely love it 🥹
