#Where kid heroes were made illegal

I love Marvel’s way of dealing w/ child heroes. I really only read Runaways, Young Avengers, and Champions when it comes to that but they are absolutely buckwild. They either decide from the get go they want absolutely nothing to do with adult heroes, or get pissed at them after doing a team up and unionize with other kid heroes.
Child heroes in marvel before meeting the adult heroes: omg I hope my hero likes me I hope they're not mad I took their name
Child heroes in marvel after spending 0.5 seconds with any of the adult heroes: never mind these guys fucking suck my hero name now lol original who
#Ask#Anon#Like half the kids just straight up steal the names of the adult heroes#And it's so funny#I think a great example of the difference between marvel and dc heroes#Is that marvel event they had#Where kid heroes were made illegal#With the exception being#If you were being sponsored by an older hero#And 90% of the kids were like fuck#I don't want to ask those fuckers for help#I guess Ill just break the Law instead

DP X DC: A Minor Drinking Problem
Phantom is a relatively new member of the JLA, but it's been a few months, and things are settling in well. He's shy and polite but is a master of the snark with villains.
Before a big mission, the all hands on deck kind, everyone is talking about scars and the crazy stories behind them to distract from the coming fight. Danny, finally feeling like he can join in the conversation with all these adult heroes, pulls off his right glove to show a pretty gnarly scar on the back of his wrist. “I got this one when I fought a guy from the Revolutionary War a few weeks ago! Didn't think he'd charge me with a bayonet.” He shares a couple more stories and scars, but only the ones that he can easily show off.
Because of stories like that and some historical depictions of Phantom from different time periods, they think he's this ancient and powerful immortal that just looks like a teenager, it wouldnt be the first time. He's powerful enough to go toe to toe with Superman, so there's no way he's actually a kid. He even sometimes has the haunted, world weary eyes that their most hardened members only get after experiencing too much. Danny, being our lovable, obliviously dense idiot, has not realized that they think he's an ancient being.
After the mission concludes -it was a rough one-, the JLA celebrate their victory with a couple drinks back at the watch tower. Danny is understandably uncomfortable with this whole situation and keeps asking, “Are you sure I should be here?” They reassure him it's fine as they pass around beers, which Danny politely declines several times. Danny eventually sees this as the perfect chance to pad his blackmail folders on his inebriated coworkers.
Anyway, as the night goes on, they have a good time, but Phantom still hasn't gotten a drink like the rest of them, and Green Lantern (or hero of your choice) really wants their shy friend to come out of his shell. So, he slams an open beer bottle on the coffee table in front of Phantom. “Come on Phantom! Let loose a little. Celebrate!”
“Dude! What the hell?! I'm 16! That's illegal!” Phantom squeaks in shock.
“We don't care how old you were when you died. It's how long you've been a ghost that counts.” Flash slings an arm around Danny's shoulders from where he’s sat next to him on the couch. Flash can't get drunk, but he also thinks it would be fun to see their uptight new member drunk.
“That's even worse! You'd be giving alcohol to a two year old!” Phantom is horrified that his coworkers are so casually breaking the law.
“But you said you fought in the Revolutionary War this morning!” Green Lantern said with his eyebrows knit in confusion.
“No, I said I fought someone from the Revolutionary War. As in, the ghost of someone from the revolutionary war!”
“You can't pull that on us. There's murals and stuff of you from thousands of years ago.” The Flash waves off with a laugh.
Phantom’s finger presses painfully hard into Flash’s chest. “I do not need to explain time travel to you of all people. My mentor hates you, and I'm STILL sent on missions constantly to clean up your messes.” Phantom's clear and low. Flash liked it better when he was shouting and not staring him down like a predator with narrowed eyes.
(This random idea popped into my head. It made me laugh, so I thought you might, too. Here you go!)

can't get rid of me , fushiguro toji
a strong legacy to be left behind , chapter one
the series masterlist. | previous | next
cw: profanity, mentions of pregnancy (pills) but filtered for megumi's sake, mentions of violence in prison, you're broke, smoking cigarettes
author's note: sigh... im out of my fluff era 😞 (sorry guys) kinda wanted to write something that i think would actually happen in some sort of alternate jjk universe and um idk how far to go because this kind of stuff does happen in the manga, but writing it feels illegal??? idk...
"mom?" megumi peeks out from around the corner in the hallway. "who was calling?"
another groan escapes your lips, around the fifth one in the last three minutes, and you silence your phone once again. "your— excuse my language, shitty deadbeat dad keeps wanting to call me." you slap your hand across your forehead and lean back on the couch, a small creak coming from somewhere below. "apparently he's getting aggressive in prison. shut off the house phone, but they still found my number..."
your son comes closer to you, and you scoop him up, placing him by your side. he glances up at you, and you swear your fight or flight instincts nearly kicked in, (not that you'd be able to fight of a guy as big as toji anyways) flinching slightly from his sharp gaze. it sucks how he looks so much like his dad, because you loved megumi so much. but the image of that guy was almost too much to bear, and he's the spitting image.
"shitty?" he repeats. for a well-behaved kid, he really doesn't respect your words.
"don't say that megs, it's bad language." you swear around him all of the time, so what's the point in scolding him? "only your mama can say it."
"don't tell me what to do."
wow. okay. why do you feel threatened by a six year old? "damn, you've got his attitude too." you mutter, but you've only got yourself to blame for that. you knew you were never cut out to be a mother, so your ways of parenting weren't the best.
he snuggles closer to you, and you openly accept, moving your free hand to his hair to rub over it. "why can't i see toji?"
ah, this lovely story again. "because he left me as soon as you were born, love." really, you couldn't and didn't want to stop yourself from wrapping him up in your arms, feeling the need to protect him. "at this point, he's dead to me. seems like he doesn't feel the same though... i'm so sick of his ass." you also knew it wasn't good parenting to rant to your child about adult issues, but you've only got him to talk to.
that hug was out of comfort then. why are you lying to yourself?
he looks up at you with an irritatingly cute but blank face. "why?"
"god, i hate how many questions you ask." you speak under your breath once again, looking up at the ceiling from any sort of help from a higher being. the amount of times you've had to family-friendly-ify things that have happened isn't even funny. you're not naturally rated u for universal. it's more embarrassing when he recites those same stories to his teachers, and you get called into the school for a little talk.
yikes... here we go. "he lied when he said he gave me the right magical candy after we visited the stork. tried to make it drop you off back to where babies are made in heaven, but i wanted it to deliver you to me, whether he liked that or not." the story's got to be a little filtered somehow. you'd rather not get yourself in the principal's office again. "you're my little hero; a miracle to me. i would've given up on myself ages ago. your dad is a bad, bad man."
the type that would kill. if he found where you lived, or perhaps where megumi goes to school...
"and now i'm left broke in an apartment that barely functions, yet i still spoil my little hero." you sing-song, leaning your head back. "and with what money? i'm broke as hell, megs. can't even make both of us breakfast in the morning cuz your elementary school is too damn expensive."
"is this my fault?"
"...no. no, baby, of course not." you furrow your eyebrows more, a small pout in your lips. "if anything, you made my situation a bit more fortunate."
it's a selfish way of thinking, using your child to avoid solving your problems, using your child to wail and complain about how much you hate your life, but you've got nothing to lose. nothing to lose except for the one person you love.
you can feel your phone buzzing again.
"you stay here and watch tv, okay? mama's gonna go to the kitchen and talk to her friend." he seems a bit relieved as you let go of him, and you stand up.
you hear him mutter. "it's only playing the news though..." no shit it only plays the news, you can't afford to get a good television company that has any kids shows. that is, unless you wanna get scammed out of all of your money.
begrudgingly, you make your way to the kitchen, confirm that you closed the door completely, and answer the vibrating device. "hello?" you sigh, placing the device over your ear.
the other person on the call replies quickly. "is this miss—"
"yeah, yeah, it is. what the hell do you want?"
"um... we apologise, but we strongly suggest that you come to the prison building. he—" the guy's voice cracks. must be really nervous. "pardon me. he's been physically assaulting other inmates and guards, he doesn't follow orders, he never leaves his cell unless it's to visit the closed visits room. you know, in hopes that you'll come..."
obsessed much? where was this energy six years ago? "that's got nothing to do with me."
"please, ma'am. he won't listen to anyone, and we are unable to place him into special facilities as he doesn't emit any cursed energy." ah, he's begging? that's a first. you never would've thought you'd hear a person who works at a prison begging.
cursed energy, cursed energy, this talk again and again and again. "urgh..." you take a deep breath. your options are limited, and they won't stop calling until they can get that lunatic to calm down... surprise, surprise, you really don't want to go.
but if you were really uninterested in him, wouldn't you have already spent the bail money that's been sat on the counter for ages, neatly concealed in an envelope? wouldn't you have paid off all of your debts already? "will i— hm..." choose your words carefully, goddamn it. "can i get a reward of some sort if i go? money?"
"yes, yes! please do visit. there's nothing we can legally do to him in check anymore." ...you think this guy sounds a little too eager.
damn toji and his "supernatural powers", or else you wouldn't get yourself into this mess. finally, after your moment of silence, you respond. "okay. i'll visit."
"thank you—!" you cut off the line.
"fucking bastard..." you drop your phone on the counter, running your hands through your hair and over your face. "stressing me out for what? you don't even love me." your words turn into whispers. with haste, you rummage through your back pocket, trying to find those last few cigarettes, but as your hands were occupied, your eyes moved over to the ashtray that was collecting dust on top of the microwave. oh, right... you don't smoke anymore because there's no ventilation indoors.
you'd have to head out if you wanted to, but then megumi would be in the apartment on his own. and nobody can babysit, because you don't have anybody to ask to babysit. great, you can't smoke until monday. it's a friday afternoon. you have two whole days to get through!
you know for a fact your addiction won't hold out for that long.

Spark - Benny x Reader
A/N: this isn't apart of the series I'm writing, just a stand alone one-shot. I just have a thing for writing meet cutes with Benny x Reader. Maybe it could be its own series.
I got this idea from another one-shot where the reader is in collage with Danny, but I can't seem to find it so I could link it. But when I do, I will add it.
This is the product of a late night, awake till after 1am finishing lol.
Warning: fluff, a little tooth rot.
Books were great friends. They can always stimulate your mind, telling you classic stories and take you on endless adventures. But they could not completely replace physical, flesh friends. So, while in college you had a handful of friends, ones that understood your love for books. One of those friends being Danny, a student studying photography.
Danny is nice, smart and looking at the world through his camera lens, his photos showing you how he sees the world around you both. Because of this you were close, like siblings. And that was why you decided to visit him. He had told you how he was hanging out with a motorcycle group called The Vandals, he was talking about how he was photographing them for the summer and listening to their stories. You found it all so fascinating.
So, here you were, sitting in a large park in the heart of the town waiting on Danny to meet up with you. You had decided to grab lunch and catch up, before later on hitting up the bar The Vandals hung out at. While waiting you had your nose in a copy of Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. A controversial novel for its time, even to today, but a guilty pleasure of yours. Who doesn’t love an anti-hero who gets revenge on the people that kept him from his love?
The loud roar of an approaching motorbike caught your attention, lifting your gaze you saw the bike pull up to the curb a few meters from where you sat. Upon the bike sat a man with greasy blonde hair, with matching stubble, dressed in black boots, dirty white jeans and a Vandals jacket. Sitting there with an idling bike, the man looked behind him before back to what was in front of him. He then turned his gaze in your direction, letting you see his gorgeous face.
You felt your breath get stuck in your chest when his eyes landed on you. How could this good-looking man have you in a choke hold? When he realized you were staring at him, a small smile formed on his full lips. Only making you melt more. He really should be illegal, for he could kill with just his looks alone.
You were unsure how long this moment between you and this Vandal lasted. But the arrival of another bike was what broke it. Hearing Danny’s voice brought you back to reality, turning from the man who had captured you, you saw Danny talking to another Vandal. You pieced together that Danny must have gotten a ride from him. You marked the page of your book before putting it away as Danny turned to see you. He smiled brightly as he called your name.
You returned his smile before getting up and hugging him when he made his way to you. Holding you at arm’s length Danny looked you over. Commenting how different you looked, to which you rolled your eyes, saying it hadn’t been that long since you’d seen each other.
A suggestive whistle caught both your attention, turning you saw both bikies watching you. The one who Danny rode with was the one to whistle.
“Is that your girlfriend!?” Called the man with a laugh.
You blushed stepping away from Danny, who didn’t reply to the guy, embarrassed like yourself. You looked to the guy you had shared a look with, only to see a sour look upon his face. Did he think Danny was your boyfriend?
Both riders readied themselves to leave, revving the engine of their bikes. A few words were shared between them before they looked to you both again.
“Have fun kids! See you later!” Called the second guy.
Both men pulled away and proceeded to ride on, leaving you and your friend alone. Danny looked to you and you both laughed in embarrassment.
“Sorry about Cal” apologized Danny. “He’s a wild card”.
You smile nodding your head. “It’s alright. Shall we get lunch?”
Smiling, Danny nodded. You both turned and began to head for a near by diner. The place was cute and cozy. Taking to a booth in the corner you and Danny looked over the menu. When a waitress came over, you both relayed your orders before being left alone. So began your catch up. You filled Danny in about going home and how your parents were doing. You talked about visiting bookshops and finding some first editions. Then how you had been looking forward to this trip, and seeing how his photography of The Vandals was going.
Danny talked about The Vandals and what he had been up to with him. Telling you about their picnics, how they found themselves scrapping with other biker groups only for them to become friends, bonding over the little things. You found it all so fascinating. Some of the stories would be something you could see being in a book you’d read. You even suggested they would make for good stories for a book or books. Which Danny laughed at.
You both ate and talked, the comfortable atmosphere between you both something you missed. After you’d eaten and the table cleared, Danny finally pulled out some of his developed photographs, which excited you. You smiled at the candid photos of various men from The group, along with some portraits.
“You really have a way of capturing people” you commented moving from one photo to another.
Then you saw it, saw him. The man who first pulled up to the curb. In the photo he was standing at a pool table, hands planted on the edge of the table, head hanging down. You looked over his arms, the tattoos you could see while he wore a black muscle t-shirt. The photo oozed sex appeal. You felt your cheeks heat up from the thoughts and feelings this picture brought up.
“That’s Benny. One of my favorite photos” Danny smiled, having watched your reaction to the photo.
You nodded. “Yes, I think mine too”.
You both laughed, moving on to the next photo and so on. All the while that photo of Benny staying front and center in your mind. You hoped the guy would be at the bar later. The banter between you both flowed, it always had with you both. Danny was easy to talk to, and the passion he has for his art is something you could always listen too. Just like when you talk about books, or saying you want to write your own novel. Danny always encouraging you to do it, write a novel that would one day become a classic read. A book that will be mentioned or remembered fifty years from now. Which always made you laugh.
But to write a novel one must have a creative mind, or experiences that could be put to paper. You may have some creativity but lack any experiences worth writing about. You voiced this to Danny, who told you to go out there and have those experiences. You laughed at him, but he was serious.
“What experiences could I have, huh?” You questioned when leaving the diner. It was late afternoon, so you both began to walk to the bar.
Danny shrugged. “Anything! You’re going to a bikie bar, here’s an opportunity!”
You shook your head but couldn’t deny he had a point. This was a good place to start. You told Danny you would do it; you’d observe the bar and see if you could find a story there. He smiled brightly and was glad you were going to start trying to write something.
After leisurely strolling to the bar, it was late afternoon when you both arrived. There were a dozen bikes in front of the place. But as the night went on, Danny said it would be livelier. Stepping up to the doors, Danny opened the door and gestured for you to enter, which you did. Upon entering you were greeted by the smell of smoke and the sound of music coming for a joke box. Danny led you through the room before taking to a table off to the side. You gracefully took a seat, making sure the skirt of your dress wouldn’t wrinkle from sitting down.
Danny sat across from you, pointing out who was in the bar and supplying their names. Not that you would remember them all so easily. By the pool table you saw Benny and Cal. Benny was having a game with another guy, while Cal watched on and talked with another.
“There’s Cal and Benny” Danny comment, having followed your gaze. “Along with Corky, the guy playing Benny, and Wahoo”.
You laughed softly. “Why are there so many funny names?”
Danny smiled. “They are funny, but I’m not sure. They’re just their nicknames”.
You turned your eyes back to the pool game, eyes lingering on Benny. Watching how he would look over the table when it was his turn, thinking about what shot to take. Watching how he would lean over the table, hands holding the pool stick and resting it on. How his arms moved when he took the shot. Benny’s eyes watching the white ball hitting its target and sinking it. A tiny grin crossing his sinful lips with rejoice.
Feeling eyes on him, Benny stepped back from the pool table, eyes looking to the almost empty bar. Finally, he spots the person, it was you. The little bookworm from the park. The same girl who was close to Danny. That left a bad taste in his mouth, you being Danny’s girl. He had nothing against the kid, but you were just a cute little thing that Benny couldn’t take his eyes off. You looked sweet and innocent, the opposite of him. He felt a spark between you as you stared at each other, but he couldn’t do the wrong thing by Danny. He is a good guy.
Seeing that you were distracted, possibly by a muse for your writing, Danny took the moment to slip away to get you both some drinks. When he voiced this was when you turned back to your friend, giving him a nod and smile. When you turned back, Benny was taking his next shot, which he was successful in sinking another ball. The next shot wasn’t so lucky, but no doubt setting something up. You noted that Benny had handed his stick to Cal before heading to the bar. Standing next to Danny, he and Benny exchanged some words before clapping Danny on the back, grabbing a beer and head back to the pool table.
When your friend returned you questioned him and he just smiled, saying it was nothing. But you didn’t buy it, yet let it go. Taking the offered bottle of pop, you sat back and took a sip. Soon more Vandals piled in as the evening came, then the night. Over time you had met more of the Vandals, talking and laughing, having a good time. Yet every so often you could feel yourself being watched, and when you looked back to the pool table, it was always Benny watching you.
He couldn’t help himself. Benny couldn’t stop watching you, making sure you were alright. Even more so when different men joined you and Danny. Benny knew what most of the guys were like, especially when they’ve been drinking. But from the smiles and laughs, he knew you were alright. Yet he wanted your focus on him, for him to be the one to make you smile and laugh.
After some time it was just you and Danny, you mused over the different Vandals that had joined you and their stories. Even if they weren’t that refined, they had their own charms. Danny agreed with you, before asking if you wanted another drink. You nodded and just like that, you were on your own. Which didn’t bother you that much. You turned your gaze back to the pool table to watch Benny, but he was gone. You frowned, not sure where he’d gone.
Suddenly Danny’s seat was grabbed and turned around, a body falling into it, arms resting on the back of the chair. “Looking for me Angel?” Came a gravelly voice.
You turned to the person, about to make a comment of no. But upon seeing Benny, you sat there quietly. Now up close you could see his eyes were a baby blue, that sparkled with amusement. And fully focused on you.
A bright smile graced his lips. “I’m Benny”.
You sat there like a fool, mouth opening and closing before you finally registered what was going on. “Oh, I’m (Y/N)”.
You could kick yourself at how foolish you must look and sound. But this man had left you speechless. From his looks to that voice, you were in trouble. But he was the perfect muse for your writing. The words you could use to describe him, no doubt that would sell books. Imagine if you used one of Danny’s photos, just to really get the point across to the reader.
“That’s a pretty name” Benny replied continuing to grin. He was a charmer.
“T-thank you” you stuttered.
Not once did Benny take his eyes off you, nor did you take yours off him. That spark between you both in full force. Silently communicating with each other. From this man’s gaze and smile, you could tell he was interested in you. Which in turn made you feel shy. You fidgeted in your seat, trying to remain calm.
That was when Danny came back with your pop and two beers. Handing one to Benny, who never took his eyes off you, and took a sip from the bottle. You gulped at how good he made sipping a beer look. Was he actually real? Or was this all in your head?
Danny looked between you both before chuckling to himself, gathering his bag and beer, he decided to leave you both alone. Not that either of you noticed when he left. Shakily you took a sip of your pop, not once looking away from Benny. He was enjoying this. Enjoying that he was your main focus, and no one else.
Putting down the bottle you felt a little less shy. “Can I ask, what did you and Danny talk about at the bar earlier?” But then felt silly to have asked, taking the bottle and having another sip out of embarrassment.
Benny chuckled, a delightful sound to your ears. “Nothin’ much. Just asked if you were his girl” – you choked on your drink – “he assured me you weren’t” he winked at you.
You coughed softly, hand over your mouth.
“You alright Angel? Do I need to come over and pat you on the back?”
You shook your head, which Benny laughed at. He thought you were so adorable. Getting your cough and self under control, you put the bottle on the table and left it there for the time being.
“You good?” Benny asked after a moment.
You nodded. “Y-yes”.
His smile returned. “Good. Couldn’t have you choking on your drink”.
Your stomach flipped at his smile and words. You felt yourself sinking further under his spell. And if those baby blues kept staring into your soul, you would whole heartedly give yourself over to him.
“Say, you wouldn’t want to go for a ride, would ya?” Benny suddenly asked sitting up, arms still resting on the back of the chair.
You blinked a few times at his words. “Ah, well...I don’t know...”
Benny raised his hands. “You can say no if you want, won’t hurt my feelings Angel” he winked once more.
Your heart skipped a beat. You didn’t want to say no to the beautiful man before you. But you were scared to get on the back of a bike. Not just because of the thoughts of crashing. But because of how close you would be to Benny. Yet the thought of being close to him was so appealing, so thrilling.
“I’m wearing a dress, that isn’t ideal...” you mused, not outright refusing him.
“Is that all?” Benny questioned with a chuckle. “I can work something out Angel. So, we going for a ride?”
Experiences, that was what you and Danny had discussed. Here one was presenting itself to you. Accompanied by the ideal muse. Time to throw caution to the wind.
“Sure” you replied with a soft smile.
Benny beamed at your words. He stood from his chair, moving around the table to stand beside you with his hand out. You looked to his face and then his hand, before back to his face. His eyes told you; you could trust him. He’d look after you. So, you placed your hand in his and he helped you from your seat.
Benny led you through the crowd of people, the whole time never letting go of your hand. He feared if he let go you would run away, and he didn’t want that. Numerous Vandals in passing made comments or cheered their brother on, having seen the interaction between you both for a while.
Exiting the bar, Benny held open the door for you, which you smiled at him for. Words hard to form and voice. Still holding your hand, Benny led you across the street and to his bike. Only then did he let go of your hand while he swung his leg over the bike, taking to seating himself for a moment. Like any other time, Benny started his bike, the beast roaring to life. He then proceeded to lift the kickstand before holding out his hand. You stood there looking at him unsure what to do.
“Come on Angel, I’ll hold your hand while you get on” Benny stated calmly, trying not to spook you.
Snapping out of it, you placed a hand in his, enjoying the feel of his rough, calloused hand against your soft skin. Next you did your best to gracefully swing your leg over the bike, which you kind of succeeded at. Once sitting behind Benny, he instructed on how to tuck your dress under your legs.
“Don’t want to flash anyone, or else I will have to make them forget” he commented, making you blush.
Benny then instructed you would have to hold on, when you questioned how, he moved his hands back and brought your hands around his waist, resting them against his firm stomach, which was more abs. Your blush deepened at the touch to his clothes stomach. Again, he repeated for you to hold on tightly, and that he wouldn’t go too fast for your first time. No doubt you were bright red, did that man not get the doubt meaning of what he said? A soft chuckle told you he did, but he said nothing after that.
Benny pulled away from the curb, heading down the street from the bar and heading for the highway. His initial take of had you grasping his t-shirt, and squeezing him, with eyes closed. He smiled to himself at your reaction, enjoying it oh so much. The way you grasped his shirt, how your nails scratched against the fabric, it did something to him. A pleasant something.
Slowly Benny gained speed before finally hitting the high way. You could feel the wind caress your face and moved your hair. Not to mention the sound of the wind was soothing, numbing the thoughts.
“Open your eyes Angel” Benny softly commandeered. “You’ll want to see this”.
Reluctantly you opened your eyes, before you was an open road, street laps lining it. And when you pass it, you can see clearly before darkness closing in again, till the next lamp. You released the breath you had been holding, amazing at what you were seeing and feeling. If this was what it was like to ride, you could get use to it.
You smiled leaning your forehead against Benny's back before laughing. “This is amazing!”
Now it was Benny’s turn to laugh. Your reaction was cute, but he got it. Riding was freedom. Riding was getting to feel and hear the wind. You wouldn’t get this experience in a car. Taking one of his hand, hand placed it over your own, which still clutched his t-shirt.
His leather glove was cool against your skin, or was that from the wind? You didn’t know, but you liked the gesture from the male before you. It was that moment you knew you had definitely found your muse. And from this experience, and possibly more to come, you would have a story worth writing down. A possible love story with a man that was ridiculous good looking and appealing. And you couldn’t wait for it all.

Hi hope you’re having a good/night can you do a Jason Todd x detective fem reader. She meets Jason , but she meets him when he’s red hood at a crime scene.
Jason Todd x FemDetective!Reader
"So you're the guy that's making my paperwork pile up higher than the Empire State Building."
"Christ, another one?" One of your coworkers said as the limp, dead body was zipped up into a body, and evidence collected and put away.
You shrug a shoulder, writing down in your notepad a list of suspects and witnesses involved in this new murder, which was also linked to other recent killings.
"Adam Matthews." You state the victim's name.
"Drug dealer?" Your coworker asks, looking at the substance that Matthews had on his person being bagged for evidence.
"Mm. He was a cook for a drug dealer who tested on homeless kids or orphans. But Matthews was also known for being an accessory for other murders, kidnappings, and was guilty for sexual assaults," you state, sighing, putting your notebook away.
Your coworker fell shocked. "How the fuck is he not locked up?!" He yells.
"Links with richies," you scoff. "Well, he's dead now. His long, overdue debt it now paid." You always believed these kinds of people never deserved a second chance. All the previous murder victims were similar to Adam Matthews. So, others may call you crazy, but you were thankful for this anonymous killer going out of their way, killing scumbags like Matthews.
"I'm going to scout around the area, Parks," you told your coworker as he nodded and went to discuss with the other officers around the area.
You shone your flashlight around the narrow alleys, searching for any clues or evidence you could use to help solve the crime and catch the murderer. Or in your eyes an anti-hero.
Just as you were about to turn around and return to the scene, you heard grunts and strings of profanity coming from behind one of the dumpsters.
Your hand hovered over your gun in your hip holster, walking towards the sounds.
You swiftly turned to see the source, hand on the handle of the gun, and saw a certain, outlawed vigilante leaning on the dumpster, holding his arm, his body stained with blood.
His helmet lay in between his legs, his domino mask remaining on his face.
"What the fu- Red Hood??" You exclaim.
"You mind?" He groans, holding his hand out, trying to avoid the flash shining in his eyes.
"Shit, sorry," you reoly, turning it off and placing it on your utility belt. Your head tilted to the side, seeing that Red Hood was struggling to wrap his arm up. "It's loose," you say, referring to the bandage- or rag that he was tying around his bicep.
"Wow, really? Didn't- fuck- didn't notice," he says, cursing once more when the bandage fell down.
You roll your eyes, crouching beside his and taking the bandage from his, unwrapping his arm and rewrapping it tighter as it should be.
"So you're the guy that's making my paperwork pile up higher than the Empire State Building." You mutter, tying the bandage to stay in place.
"Sorry, little cop lady. Just doing my job." He hisses.
"It's little detrctice lady to you. And I'd appreciate it if you made your little killing sprees a little more discreet. Eventually, the actual cops are gonna catch your ass," you snicker, getting up.
"As if I let them." He bites back.
"L/n. Where are you?" Parks says through your walkie. "Did you find anything?"
Red Hood gets up, putting his helmet back on, looking down at you, waiting for your response.
You click on the button to reply. "No. Nothing here. Coming back now."
The white glowing eyes pierce through yours as Red Hood chuckles. "Hiding a criminal? Haven't taken a look through the law book in a while, but isn't that illegal?" You couldn't see it, but Red Hood grinned, amised at this new encounter.
You shrugged. "I'm only doing this because I know I can't stop you, even if I wanted to. Besides. If these ass rat criminals kept scurrying around, the papaerwork would be much more than you're making." You smirk.
He laughs. "So you're saying you don't want to stop me?" He crosses his arms.
"Have a good night, Mr. Hood." You bid him goodbye, walking back to the crime scene.
"And to you too, little detective lady," he says, quietly hoping to run into again after he puts lead into the head of his next target.
"Jeez, I thought you died or something. You were gone for a while, are you sure you didn't find anything?" Parks quickly asks you.
You quickly wipe away the blood on your palms from Red Hood's wound onto your black jeans. "Save the interrogation for the suspects, Parks. Nothing there but dead rats and graffiti."
You walk off, almost missing the shine of a red helmet running off on the roof of a building in the distance as you smirk to yourself, also secretly hoping Red Hood would cause another casualty to meet him again.
Parks was about to walk off, too, almost missing the tiniest splotch of red on your white shirt as he raised an eyebrow.
I'M SO SORRY I DIDN'T MEAN TO MAKE IT SO SHORT!!!
I didn't want to leave this ask in my inbox for too long and forget about it 😭😭
BUTTTT if you or anyone else wants!!! I can make a part 2 where Reader and Red Hood begin a constant meetup after every death Red Hood causes (only to those criminals who deserve it, obvi). And Parks becomes suspicious of Reader and threatens her or that Reader's job is put on the line!!!!
I was going to add this idea in, but I'm really bad at making long fics cuz I always wanna get it over and done with and I'm so impatient 😭
HOPE YOU ENJOYED IT ANYWAYS 🙏🙏

ins-s-securities.
5 — first and last.
“just stay out of my way,” bakugo reminded for the umpteenth time.
“okay…”
you understood his annoyance perfectly. while the rest of his classmates coped with their tasks without any extra weight, bakugo was forced not only to tolerate your awkward steps next to him, but also to protect you if something happened. it was a mistake to think that you weren’t nervous. the phone, ready to be used at any moment, was clutched in your hand; your thumb soothingly stroked the screen of the gadget.
while you genuinely didn't want to be a burden for bakugo, you kept thinking about the possibilities. maybe some villains would show up, maybe someone here would need help. in those scenarios in your head, bakugo would neutralize the bad guys, you would get the right shots from the right angle, and everyone would be happy. including his friends, who had already managed to express their excitement about the future footage before the patrol began. and managed to tease bakugo. he blew their asses. you split up with them. that was it.
looking around, you took in the deplorable state of this part of the city. while it was slowly and surely continuing to be rebuilt by civilians and necessary quirks of heroes, its outskirts in places still remained seemingly abandoned. it was these areas that became the target of the underground world of villains, places where the shadows of the events of two years ago could crawl.
“sooo... U.A. often sends you to areas like this,” you assumed hesitantly, just to start some kind of conversation between the two of you. the silence was weighing on you, and you felt obligated to be proactive. “yeah. sometimes due to emergencies,” bakugo confirmed without further elaboration, looking at you out of the corner of his eye. you returned the gaze.
pause. and somewhere there you are banging your head against the wall.
“oh! those school armored trucks,” you quickly pointed your thumb behind you, “this is my first t-time riding in one of those.”
“well, enjoy your last ride,” katsuki said slightly grumpily and turned away, adjusting the belt on his winter suit. under the dark fabric, you could clearly see the flex of all his muscles, especially his biceps, which begged the question of how the fuck he got into such perfect shape? bakugo was seriously buffed and you couldn't help but stare at his side. there were no boys like him in your class. and god, it was kind of flattering to be paired with him for your project. it was reasonable after all.
bakugo tsked and asked with an emphasized jerk of his chin at your device: “so what? your shitty camera will be able to perfectly capture my explosions?”
“of course! i made sure i had the r-right settings for filming something that p-powerful,” you stuttered, instantly cringing at how jarring it sounded to your ears. you couldn’t even look at bakugo for fear of seeing discomfort on his face, but all you could hear from him was an amused huff. “yeah. you better do your best. you won’t have any more chances to see something so badass.”
just bakugo bragging. somewhere there you are now breathing a sigh of relief.
the two of you walked around the street assigned to katsuki for another ten minutes - no signs of illegal activity. you managed to take a few shots of the surroundings for documentary purposes, a couple more with a reluctant bakugo, which was surprisingly funny to you and contrasted with the sadness that overwhelmed you from the empty streets. kids' laughter no longer rang out here, in the evenings the bright streetlights no longer illuminated the path for families who went out for a walk...
“nothing will ever be the same again, right?” you asked bitterly, the colorful arcade sign to your left reminding you of the simple happiness and carefree times that were lost during that horrible period. bakugo didn’t miss your mood and rolled his eyes. “no, it will be better,” katsuki assured you and you thought ‘yes, everything has to be better. nothing less than better’. your attention was caught by a plush and strangely clean rabbit lying in your path, the size of a palm, blue as the sky and with a bow of the same color around its neck. probably used to exchange tickets from the arcade machines for it. you couldn’t resist and stopped to pick up the toy, pocketing your phone, until bakugo noticed and did the same with confusion a few steps ahead. “what?”
you curiously turned the rabbit over in your hand and felt the pull string on its back with your fingers, without thinking you wound up the toy, and a hissing melody began to play with barely discernible distorted lyrics of a children's song:
“wind me u-up and watch me go,
spreading joy in every row-w-w,”
nothing seemed suspicious to you. as the song continued, the string gradually shortened. just a cute rabbit with a creepy-sounding song.
“hopping here a-and hopping there,
with lo-o-o-love and laughter—“
“holy shit, drop it!” bakugo's suddenly wary voice cut off the end of the line.
“everywhereee…”

Ghost of fries and hero of cookies part 6
All work words count: 14 643
Words in this part: 2 686
Summary of whole work: Duke wasn't expecting to wake up from his quick rooftop nap to some meta kid with fries. He also wasn't expecting kid to stay
Or
Danny asked Dani to stay safe while she was in Gotham. Where would she be safer than under the wing of local hero? And he looked like he needed bad day combo anyway
This part summary: Batman wants an explanation. His kids however, wouldn't be themselves if they did add some chaos
Beta read by @audhumla-sailor though English is second language for both of us, so proceed with this in mind. I also know all of the charaters through fics alone, so probably ooc. Stay catious if it's something you don't like
First part, Previous part
“Signal.”
Duke bit back a sigh as his last hope to leave Cave undiscovered disappeared. He shot Steph message of:
Having The Talk. Come as moral support
and turned around to face Bruce.
“Yes?”
B grunted in disapproving and ‘Signal report’ way but Duke decided to buy some time and answer only questions that were actually asked. He slowly sat at the briefing table and looked at the man expectantly.
Lift chimed and moments later Tim and Cass went to Batcomputer and training mats respectively. Duke was, like, 80% sure they were there to eavesdrop. He knew them well enough. He knew them well enough.
“The girl”
“Izzy?” Was Duke annoying on purpose? Yes. He really didn’t want to have this talk. Like, at all. Psychological warfare it was “I mean, I know she is civilian and you don’t approve but at least she isn’t doing anything illegal, right? Like, you know, robbing museums or killing people?”
Bruce looked repulsed and Tim snorted.
“Low blow Narrows, low blow” Jason announced through speakers. He was slightly winded as if he just finished a fight “Good job kid”
“So you’re listening too, great” Duke muttered under his breath before louder he added “Is everyone who wants in on a show, here already?”
“Give me a sec- here Dick you’re going live now”
“Thanks Babs, you’re the best”
“I know. Donuts, you know which one”
“Of course. Glad we’re finally going to talk about Duke’s kid”
“Shut up, she is not my kid!”
“Steph ETA 2 minutes” Cass interrupted.
At least Damian didn’t show up- as if summoned by this thought Damian stomped down the stares, Alfred the Cat curled in his arms. Maybe others had a point, calling him Demon kid and stuff.
“What is an emergency?” he demanded and Duke decided to take what little relief he could from the fact that Bruce seemed equally defeated by sheer number of people around for this talk.
“It seems like… oh, literally everyone lost an adoption bet” Babs explained. Huh, so Steph didn’t change her stance.
Damian looked genuinely terrified as he muttered “No” eyes darting between everyone present in silent calculation.
“Oh, shut up” Duke whined knowing all too well his stalling had to come to the end. Maybe it was wishful thinking but he almost heard roar of engine of Steph’s motorcycle. Her presence would be double edged sword but she would help him advocate for Dani and that was more important.
“Thomas, what have you done?!” if it was anyone other than Damian, Duke would call sound he made a whine. As it was, he preferred his entrails to stay inside and since the boy showed up, called by thought, the older boy preferred not to take risks.
“Nothing, Babs is overreacting”
“Don’t deny it. She went about it kinda Tim Lite style but it worked”
“I don’t even know her surname, where she stays or really, anything about her life outside of our patrols, how do you expect me to go about adoption?!”
“B knew even less about me when he decided, yes this tire thief is my new son!” Jason chimed in and Duke knew he was grinning despite voice modulator.
“What from my origin story was lost to make Lite version?”
“Identities weren't breached as far as we're aware. Just ‘came one day and refuses to leave’ part and some light stalking. She was smart about it, invisible, keeping out of sight and to the hot spots. Wouldn't find her if I didn't know she was there”
“She could still just not tell, I mean I knew for years before telling anyone…”
“There is no way. Believe me, she has no brain-mouth filter, I swear”
“But-”
“She introduced herself by her first name,” Duke deadpanned ”She told me civilian names of heroes from her hometown, in context that didn't require me to do any actual research to clue me. I did anyway. I don't think she even realized she did it. If she knew our identities we would know already”
There was a moment of silence as everyone digested the thought of just how gigantic breach Dani accidentally caused.
“Well, it's as good of a proof as we can get for now,” Babs bristled.
“Who let her in on such secrets then?!” Damian sounded genuinely appalled and Duke wasn't too surprised.
Like on a cue, Steph stormed inside on her Spoiler in civies. Bruce looked about ready to get aneurysm. Duke was a bit glad that everyone was doing such good job in distraction department.
“IT’S OKAY, WHY? BECAUSE I AM HERE!” Steph yelled, jumping from before her vehicle fully stopped. She threw something small in general direction of Batcomputer “Timmy plug it in, I made a PowerPoint!”
Duke felt blood leave his face. He wasn't sure if he wanted to know what Steph put together but he probably didn't. Tim opened it anyways.
WHY HOOPOE IS ADORABLE&CHAOTIC BEAN AND SHOULD BE PART OF THE TEAM
The title slide said, one of the clearest photos of Dani from before she started wearing mask in the background. It was close-up of girl smiling, bits of brownie on her cheeks.
“Was this photo taken with a goddamn calculator?” Tim asked with disgust so clear Duke could taste it. Metaphorically of course.
“Nah, just body-cam. Her powers mess with technology a bit”
Tim still looked displeased at the craftsmanship.
“Don't worry, it's not a bad photo. Baby Bird is just being perfectionist,” Dick placated.
Duke didn't realize that Damian froze until he unfroze and made his way to the screen, stopping less than one foot away from it. His movements were rigid, his face scrunched with distress. Alfred the Cat escaped its master probably due to hoe tense he was. Everyone in Cave quietened as soon as boy took first step and expecting mood had to run through microphones because nobody from the on-line crowd quipped in.
“This is the green of Lazarus” he whispered finally, sounding actually scared. Jason swore. Bruce and Cass visibly stiffened. Tim choked and he wasn't even drinking. Dick did his whinny breezy name saying thing when he wanted explanation and felt lightly betrayed.
It was Duke's turn to freeze because… it wasn't. Of course he wasn't all that well versed in the Pit, less alone its color but he did bust quite a few trafficking rings with Jason and he saw his eyes afterwards all raging, toxic, neon green glory and it wasn't the same as Dani’s. As much as he liked English and how good he was at it, it failed him at simple task of describing the obvious difference between each other. He'd have more luck describing tastes with set of color samples from IKEA or something. And really, even if he tried he would lose the fight of competence with Damian. Who wouldn't. But-
“There is no way she has any connection with LOA”
“Why is that?” Damian seemed to misinterpret it as challenge like he always did when emotions were running high. Duke took a deep breath. Well, it was a moment to use all of his diplomatic skills and speak in the language of the demons.
“I've seen her fight. She would be utter disgrace”
“It does not prove-”
“It does” Duke interrupted with the tone and mimic of person who saw too much because he did ”None of you have any say until you watch a tiny and I mean tiny ten year old tackle five Joker goons like it's a joke, by sheer virtue of super strength and intangibility-means-I-can-ignore-bullets-Signal-don’t-be-such-worrywart. She should get shot, like, three times at least. And she kept laughing!” he was low key wheezing at the end because even after all this time (a week) it was fucking horrifying. Bruce made a huff that meant he was laughing and put a hand on his shoulder as a sign of support. Dick's lighthearted laugh sang from the speakers.
“Don't worry Duke, it never gets better” B said with mirth.
He refused to elaborate whether he meant ‘kids keep jumping into danger like there is no tomorrow‘ or ‘it's equally terrifying every time’ and Duke decided to reflect on that sentiment later. It put some things into perspective. A lot of things if he was being honest.
Also, he was not ready for stuff like that to become even semi-normal occurrence. He was ready to give her all of his Alfred cookies if it could change anything. He knew it wouldn't.
“Do you have any other evidence that your new acquaintance does not just fake being less experienced to make you lower your guard?” Damian asked warily.
“I had to teach her out of putting her thumb in her fist,” he deadpanned. Several people hissed in empathetic pain. Steph coughed to bring attention to where she stood in front of Batcomputer, other slide of her Power Point open. Duke recognised video from his body-cam.
“Exhibit A” she announced. She played a video with Dani’s first mugging attempt he witnessed. Let it be said, it was a disaster.
“Exhibit B '' One of Dani’s most epic fails at side-kick that ended with her falling face first to the ground.
“Exhibit C” Dani fumbled with zip-ties, looking at him utterly at loss.
“Exhibit D” the talk about her prior training.
“What’s was that sound?” Dick obviously on the verge of cooing when girl on video growled. Steph stopped video.
“Very angry kitten” Tim stated with soft smile.
“Honestly, furious girl” Cass corrected “She was really mad at you”
“Yeah, I know but promise of Alfred’s cookies was enough to placate her”
“You gave her Alfred’s cookies?!”
“She started by giving me a lot of food on a really shitty patrol, had to repay somehow”
“Was it from your share or-” Dick asked like it was most important thing in the world.
“Miss Hoopoe was added to my plans after she picked her new name” Alfred explained and shit, Duke really should get used to how man just appeared sometimes. Jumpscare the original.
“Alfred, you knew?” Bruce sounded so utterly betrayed.
“I have yet to meet her but I was informed about her presence about two weeks ago”
“He caught me printing mask for her”
“About that” Steph clapped and skipped her slide show “Look at thi clueless child with such horrible disguises and codename ideas” There was whole list of every name Dani wanted to try out and photo of her bare face. Duke kinda repressed his memories of it. It was worse than he remembered.
“Did she really tried kenting that?”
“Got it after her cousin. He used his first name as part of his alias for almost half a year” Duke admitted in carefree tone, knowing it would cause a mess.
“Cousin?!” several people yelled in surprise.
“Caped cousin?!”
“Yup. Small time hero from Illinois. As far as I’m aware she’s alone in Gotham but they’re in regular contact and she has strong believe that he can and will help her if she used her panic button”
“Who in their right mind let’s kid alone in Gotham?!” Jason sounded about ready to strangle Phantom.
“He seems to be fifteen himself. And has anti-meta parents if I’m picking things up correctly. She didn’t mention them much. I highly doubt she has present parents at all, so…”
“What the hell Narrows.”
“I don’t know, it’s just a wild guess”
“Does it call for the rescue?” Steph asked eagerly.
“We’re not going to Illinois to rescue Phantom if he doesn’t ask for it. He has means to it” Bruce interrupted with bone deep sigh.
“How do you know I meant Phantom?” Duke perked up because he never mentioned this name.
“He is from Illinois, looks almost the same as far as I can tell from the photos and they share a lot of powers”
“I didn’t know you knew about random kid hero from other state?”
“He dropped by on few Justice League’s mission. There is still dispute whether we should approach him in his city or not. He was very clear on his opinion that we should stay away. I think we really shouldn’t”
“How you haven’t gone or sent anyone there yet?” Tim teased.
Bruce just stared at him then gestured at mountain of cases they were currently working on. Yes, they were printed. Apparently for man it made it easier to work on them like that.
“Can we focus back on untrained child you let join you on patrol, Duke?”
“You act like I could stop her from doing her own thing if I didn’t let her. Plus, even though she doesn’t have combat training, she can handle herself well enough. And has this damn intangibility that makes her really hard to punch”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I didn’t tell anyone other than Alfred and Steph and I wanted to wait a bit before leaving her to the wolfs”
“The bet”
“Shut up Steph”
“When did you plan on letting us know?” Bruce ignored what blonde insinuated. Duke was utterly grateful for that, he knew he would get lecture for that later but he was more than happy to leave it be for now.
“Somewhen next week. I hoped to introduce her gradually but apparently everyone knew already?”
“Kids tell me things. Hoopoe made a good impression on them” Jason explained.
“Hero sightings on Twitter” Dick admitted without a shadow of shame.
“What he said” Tim agreed “This person from crochet dolls made one for your kid too, so in public eyes she’s our already”
“For the last time, she isn’t my kid!” Duke groaned but as always went ignored.
“Nobody expected old man’s tendencies to rub on you so fast, Narrows”
“Shut up and this is half a reason I didn’t let you meet her. All of you”
“With all due respect Duke” Babs started teasingly “You gave us ammo yourself. You improved her diet, you brought her to The Food Track Of Mental Breakdowns, you teach her stuff, you check in on her almost as often as her cousin and their friends do…”
“How did you hack her pho- No, wrong question, why?!”
“We’re all paranoid bastards, I needed to check out the newest bird. She legally doesn’t exist btw so I suspect some shady stuff with her birth but otherwise nothing sus about her. Comms and trackers for her are waiting in drawer C19. You will give it to her tomorrow”
“Aye, aye captain Oracle ma’am” he joked.
“Wait, you showed her The Food Track?”
“She deserved it” he gritted out.
Before this could turn into a fight or something, Alfred demanded:
“Since we are all on the same page now, I would like to extend an invitation for family dinner to miss Hoopoe”
“We’ll eat it down here in full costumes”
“As you wish master Bruce. Master Duke make sure to let her know”
“Of course Alfred”
And he planned to do that but Dani didn’t show up. He hadn’t thought much of it because she was unpredictable like that. She tended to disappear from the face of the Earth for a day or two and return with tales of her “autograph hunting trips”
But then she didn’t show up on the next patrol too. It was unprecedented. And she hadn’t responded to the check in. Three times in the row. He was getting kinda sick from the stress.
He knew Dani well enough, she wouldn’t ghost him like that and in Gotham disappearing meant three things: getting kidnapped, trafficked or six feet under. To their knowledge, Dani didn’t have anyone who would pay ransom for her other than Signal and no demands were made so the first option was out.
Bats launched full fledged search.
Duke himself found and busted two trafficking rings in three weeks which was around how much he did in two months on a daily basis.
Thanks to Oracle, they found Dani’s utterly crashed phone in the dead end in the Narrows. It didn’t look any better.
Duke really hoped they wouldn’t be too late.
With each day it seemed more likely.

Saw this post abt Alonso getting accidentally electrocuted and thinking he was 14 (as well as this tag on a reblog)
what if... the whole grid accidentally got struck by some deus ex machina non fatal zap that gave them temporary amnesia and they all became convinced they were 14 for a day? Here is what I think would happen:
First off, they're all so hyped about being F1 drivers and get excited about the dumbest shit (phone games, wheel guns, tire blankets)
Max and Charles fight each other over the Inchident
George is starstruck by the fact that Alex is an F1 racer (bc Alex was his karting hero growing up) but Alex didn't become friends with George until he was 15, so he has no idea who George is, which is Humiliating to fragile teenage George.
Half of them can't speak English fluently yet. Only the younger ones (Oscar, Franco, etc) know that google translate exists and they help massively in the linguistic problems.
Unclear whether or not Pierre and Esteban are besties or enemies, or both. They are one of those things, and they're insane about it because they're teenagers. Lance and Esteban are probably like Normal friends though.
Lewis is like "where tf is Nico" and finds adult Nico. Lewis is super pumped to hear that they both made it to F1, were teammates and won WDCs, Lewis is an F1 GOAT, and that Nico married his childhood crush. (Their life trajectories literally sound like what a kid imagines their future to be like.) And Nico is like "hey we actually had a falling out" and Lewis is like "that's crazy man, how would we stop being friends? You want some frosties?"
Immediate Spanish speaker clique between Fernando, Carlos, Checo, and Franco. They are shook that THE Fernando Alonso wants to be besties with them (especially Carlos since Fernando is his hero).
KMag and Hulk are probably friends since this is pre Suck My Balls and they're friends now so, their energies align I guess.
Being 14 year olds who find out they're rich and famous, they all want to escape into the real world and take joyrides in the expensive cars they own/ drink alcohol/ see strippers/ buy crazy stuff and their team staff is like OH NO WE CAN'T LET THEM ESCAPE (Thus ensues comedy gold of the team staff chasing kids who have the bodies of professional athletes around the track and trying to contain them)
If in Singapore, Yuki and Zhou manage to escape because they are 2 East Asians wearing designer and F1 merch and they blend in with the fans. (As a disguise, they swap team shirts and put on surgical masks and people are like "Is that Zhou Guanyu?" "Nah why would Zhou be wearing a Yuki shirt?") Word gets out in the drivers whatsapp that they escaped and they immediately get bombarded with requests for what to buy for the rest of the paddock. They cannot rly understand each other but Zhou can get around Sgp pretty easily bc a lot of people there speak Mandarin. He has to stop Yuki from breaking at least five Singaporean laws. They stuff themselves at hawker stands and have a great field trip but then get recognized and have to make an emergency getaway on a stolen electric scooter. They do get Lewis his Frosties.
Lewis doesn't know he's a vegan and almost ruins his reputation by being spotted by paparazzi eating Frosties with non vegan milk. Also gives himself a nasty stomachache.
Despite being told not to tell other people about the mass amnesia, Max and Lance both call their dads. Lawrence is like "My poor son! I will get the experts to look into this right away!" Jos is like "idc if you don't remember how to drive the car, you're gonna do it or I'll disown you." Daniel and Lando grab the phone and tell Jos he's a meanie and also was a shit F1 driver, then hang up.
George finds chewing gum at the bottom of someone's bag and starts spiraling, convinced that the Singaporean police are going to arrest and execute them all for possessing illegal items.
Lord of the Flies scenario where George and Oscar are trying to organize everyone to make sure they don't accidentally hurt themselves, whereas Lando, Fernando, KMag, Daniel, and a few others are just trying to have a good time and cause chaos. Bottas and Alex and a third group are just like quietly messing around in the back.
They come to a truce in order to organize a GPDA strike because they have been banned from leaving the track until they regain their memories. They barricade themselves in someone's garage and have a sleepover on the floor with lots of candy and games. Lewis finds a guitar and plays Wonderwall.
They wake up the next day extremely confused (but remembering everything) and race as normal LOL

Warnings: sexual assault; abuse (if you squint)
Words: ~2.2k
Notes: well, if this ain’t me with my own insecurities. Hopefully, someone out there gets it. But oh man, the angst in this was crazy, made me take a few minutes to pause and just suffer in the most heart wrenching words I just wrote. I’m not entirely happy with the outcome but live, laugh, love.

“Why didn’t you let me save you?”
Jason’s strained voice cut through the deafening silence that was threatening to suffocate you. His face was stricken with pain as his eyes, wild and bright, searched yours desperately. His hair, you noticed as you urgently looked elsewhere, was a mess as he had clawed through it trying to keep his temper under control. You wanted to reach out, run your fingers though his hair and tell him that everything was going to be okay, but it wasn’t going to be. Because you fucked up—again. Because it always came down to you, didn’t it?
“Jason, it would’ve put you at risk,” you rationalized, looking at the floor. You had gone out with your friends to the club, unbeknownst to you that it was the same club that Jason had business with—well, more like forcefully extracting information from a criminal as the club was a front for illegal affairs.
Jason couldn’t help but raise his voice at your response, he was just as angry with himself as he was with you. “Put me at risk? You were the one who was in danger! Not me!” he replied aggressively, pacing back and forth in the living room.
Your cheeks heated up in embarrassment, perhaps with shame too, at the fact that he was right. You had been sexually assaulted by a man at the club, and not wanting to distract him from his mission you had decided to endure it because if you were being honest with yourself, you could. Whatever happened, you would survive it—and you had become really good at surviving. You didn’t know how to ask for help, didn’t know what it was like to not carry the weight of the world on your shoulders, didn’t know how to accept an outstretched hand.
“You would’ve been in danger,” you continued to push. “If you had saved me, it would’ve taken you off course of your mission. It would have jeopardized you—compromised you.”
Jason whirled to look at you, his eyes cutting to you sharply. “Mission? Are you fucking kidding me right now?” Jason asked in total disbelief and annoyance. He felt the ground sway beneath him as he was still reeling from what you said.
“Do you really think I care about a mission at that time when the woman I love was being threatened right in front of me?” He continued angrily. “If it was you or taking down a mafia boss, I would’ve chosen you every single day of my life.”
“But you didn’t,” you said, voice so small it almost came out as a whisper. “And it’s okay.”
Jason looked at you, expressions flitting across his face as he felt a surge of emotions overwhelm him. He was so angry at you, but mostly with himself. It was not okay; how could it be? He had failed you and you were saying it was okay? Jason felt his chest tightening around his heart that was becoming heavy.
“We both made a choice tonight,” you said quietly. “And we’re both still alive so let’s just go to bed.”
Jason opened his mouth to argue some more, but as he looked at you, he clamped his mouth shut. He exhaled through his nose, trying to grasp onto reality, anything to center himself and his eyes landed on yours. You looked exhausted, tired from the events of this evening and tired of the emotional turmoil you were going through. Jason knew you were looking out for him and that you weren’t looking out for yourself. He sighed, dragging a hand through his hair.
“Fine,” he gave in reluctantly, crossing his arms.
You stood up, the air around the both of you still thick with tension as you walked to where he stood to give him a hug, but his eyes hardened with every step you took.
“Let me look at those,” Jason commanded. Your eyes travelled down to where Jason kept his eyes trained, seeing the bruises that the man had given you begin to bloom more apparently through your sheer shirt.
“They’re just small bruises,” you brushed off, which made Jason flinch.
“Let me see your bruises, y/n,” he ordered.
Knowing that he wouldn’t stop until he saw them, you crossed the gap between you two and he gently—with the utmost tenderness, pulled up your shirt, his fingers grazing the bruises on your hips lightly.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” he pressed, irritation dripping into his voice. “You were hurt, and your first thought was to protect me? Instead of taking care of the wounds on your body?”
“I didn’t think there was much to say,” you mumbled out.
His eyes filled with cold rage. “Are you listening to yourself right now? Why the hell did you let him hurt you? Why didn’t you tell me?”
“My friend and I figured it out,” you argued, trying to keep your voice steady but failing.
“You can’t tell me you didn’t need me,” Jason spat, his voice filled with hurt and malice. “You got hurt, your body was injured, and you chose to hide it from me? You really think I would have been fine with it? You know this is exactly why I get frustrated with you? This right here?”
He gestured to you, and you flinched, your voice breaking. “Of course, I needed you.”
“Then why didn’t you say anything?” he asked angrily. She always kept things from him that he needed to know, and he was getting sick of it.
“It was already a tough night for both of us,” you offered weakly. “I didn’t want you to be more worried than you already were.”
Jason took a step back as if he had just gotten slapped. You really thought your selflessness was a virtue, and the more that Jason thought about it, the less impressed he was becoming with your behaviour. You were hurt, assaulted, and bruised and your first thought wasn’t about yourself. It wasn’t even seeking comfort or help. It was to protect him—and if Jason was going to be honest with himself, it was getting old.
“I’m sorry,” you whispered.
“Don’t be sorry,” Jason snapped, pinching the bridge of his nose. He was annoyed at your apology, but he was even more annoyed at the wall you had built up—that you had always pushed him away.
An unsettling silence fell between the both of you and you had felt that the way things had turned out was your fault—it always was. “I’m sorry,” you said again. “I’ll just go.”
You began to walk away from him, but he grabbed your arm. “You’re not going anywhere. I need to know why you’re doing this.”
“Doing what?” you asked, furrowing your brows.
“Why you’re always thinking about me,” Jason said exasperatedly, pain tinging his voice.
“Why wouldn’t I?” you asked, utterly confused.
Jason stood still, completely silent. Were you really this blind to reality? You were hurt and you still made a point to think about him and not yourself.
“Do you realize just how much it hurts me when you do that?” Jason asked, his voice barely above a whisper. “When you hurt yourself for my sake?”
Jason continued to glare at you, even as the realization began to set in. He couldn’t believe that you were now just starting to understand what he had been trying to tell you for so long.
“You think your selflessness is helping me?” he said bitterly, his voice rising with every word. “Don’t you think it hurts me seeing you hurt? Not only physically but emotionally?”
“I-I d-didn’t know,” you stumbled over your words, feeling so lost at the realization.
“Are you kidding me? Do you understand just how much it hurts me seeing you put your needs aside? Seeing you get hurt?” Jason asked, his eyes starting to well with tears. “What’s so wrong with me that you have to do that?”
His voice cracked as he talked, his eyes desperately searching your face. “What am I doing to make you behave like this?”
“Nothing!” you exclaimed around the lump that burned your throat. How could you tell him that it wasn’t his fault, that it was entirely yours? That you didn’t know how to open up, or how to share the weight of your own trauma. How you were terrified of being a burden to another person, and so you kept it all to yourself. “Nothing is wrong with you, Jay!”
“By always putting my needs before yours, it’s only hurting me more,” Jason said, his head hanging low, defeated.
“I didn’t mean to hurt you, Jason,” you said, voice breaking. That was the last thing you ever wanted—you had bottled everything in so you wouldn’t, so why does this hurt so much more?
“I know you didn’t,” he said quietly. “But I’m so tired of seeing you hurt.”
There was a lot that you had decided for yourself that night: you had decided to not tell Jason, you had decided what his safety was. Jason was hurt, angry, and confused. He wanted to tell you how much he hated you, but even more so he wanted to tell you that he loved you too.
“I know that you did your best tonight—that you tried to protect me,” Jason said, his voice cracking. “But you’re not my hero. So, stop trying so damn hard to help me.”
You stepped back from him, feeling so overwhelmed, drowning in your own self-deprecation. “What if I don’t become the person you need?” you cried, your tears burning your face.
“What if I need you as you are?” he fought back. “Just because you may not be what I expected right now, doesn’t mean that you still haven’t exceeded my every expectation.”
“It’s not fair that you can be so nice to me even when you’re angry,” you sobbed, voice cracking.
Jason pulled you into a hug, his arms wrapping around you protectively. “Shhh, shhh. It’s okay. Just because you’re not perfect—no, just because you think you’re not—it doesn’t mean that I can’t be patient with you. That I can’t love you. And that I can’t stay by your side—because I can. Yes, you’ve made me angry. You’ve hurt me. You’ve shut me out. Yet I’m still here. I don’t need you to be perfect. I just need you. You are so perfect to me right now, I can’t even put it into words. You’re hurt right now, and I can see it. And it’s killing me to see you like this. Y/n, I don’t need you to be perfect. You can be messy. You can be angry. You can hurt me. Because I’ll always love you.”
You sobbed against his chest, your body wracking with so much guilt, and hurt, and brokenness, because you were such a fuckup. How could he love you?
“You don’t deserve that, Jason,” you cried. “I shouldn’t be hurting you. I shouldn’t even be with you!”
Jason pulled back, his eyes ablaze as he looked at your face desperately. “Why? Why shouldn’t you be with me? Y/n, why do you keep beating yourself over this? Why do you keep pushing me away? Why can’t you accept that I love you? Why can’t you accept that you can be loved? Why can’t you just let yourself be happy?”
You looked away from him, hiding your face in your hands. “I don’t know,” you mumbled.
“You don’t know?” he sighed. He placed his hands on your gently, pulling them away from your face. “Look at me. Look at me.”
You looked up, your eyes glistening with tears as Jason tried to look at your face.
“We’re not doing this,” Jason said, his voice stern. “You’re not leaving me because you think you’re not worth it. You’re not leaving me because you don’t think you can be loved.”
You looked at him so vulnerably—nervous, fear, and insecurity written across your face.
“Y/n,” Jason said gently. “Listen to me. Just listen. You are worth it. You are perfect. You are everything that I could ever want. Do you understand? I don’t care that you’re not perfect. That you mess up. I don’t care that you push me away because I love you. You’re not leaving me, got it?”
You shook your head, wracking over sobs. Jason pulled you into his arms once more, caressing your head.
“Say it, y/n. Say that you’re not leaving me, and that you understand that I need you right now.”
You tried to steady your breath enough to say the next words: “I’m not leaving you. I understand that you need me right now.”
You broke off, crying again and Jason gently caressed your face. “Shh, shh, it’s okay. It’s just you and me now. We’ll always figure it out.”

i'm sure someone has already talked and theorized about this at length, but i just want to point out a minor detail that was never expanded on during lady nagant's arc. in her backstory, before she accepted to offer from the hero commission to work for them, her right elbow is wrapped in what appear to be bandages. her right elbow is where her rifle quirk extends from.
it looks like she mainly wears the elbow wrap when in public, around other people, or at least in school (left image), but takes them off when alone and/or in her own house (right image).
i think there's two main conclusions to be drawn from this. the first, that she wears the elbow wrap as a kind of support gear, possibly to help her control her quirk better like with aoyama's belt. it's not too far fetched to surmise that she might have had difficulty with her quirk as a younger child.
however, i'm going to argue with myself here and say that knowing what we know about "rifle", i don't really see how she would have a problem in the same way that eri or aoyama do. long story short, if that is what it's for, it seems unnecessary. moreover, going with the aoyama precedent, he never takes his belt off. because it's a real and actual possibility that his quirk will misfire involuntarily. whether he's at his parents house, inside the dorm, or alone in his room, he still wears his belt. so the fact that kaina felt safe taking off when she's alone would suggest that it's not actually a support item for her quirk.
i've seen some fans bring up that its illegal to purchase or possess a gun in japan. but i mostly dismissed this thought, although interesting to think about, because as strict as japanese gun control laws are, it's also illegal to set off explosives, and that never affected or stopped bakugou.
but now i'm thinking that perhaps it did impact kaina. if she's not wearing an elbow wrap for her own or others' safety (because, as i established, it seems unnecessary), then she may be wearing it for others' peace of mind.
which brings up a whole slew of possibilities for her pre-hpsc backstory. because there's plenty of examples of kids with destructive and/or weapon-related quirks that don't seem to get the same treatment. so there must be something specific to kaina that prompted her to wrap her quirk up whenever she goes outside. was she bullied? ostracized? simply told by an authority figure that it's "safer this way" and never questioned it?
this gives an extra layer of weight to kaina's motive to becoming a hero. because the hero commission came to her and said that the power which she, if not outright bullied for, was at least strongly discouraged from having, could be used for the better of society.
from the very start, she was defined by her weaponhood. the hero commission merely took a weapon which people were afraid of and made it into something to be admired as well. and most importantly, something that can be used. kaina took the opportunity to use her weaponhood for the benefit of others, after being raised under the assumption that her quirk was dangerous and meant for hurting others. and how did that end up, but exactly as everyone had always told her it would?
kaina tsutsumi was always doomed to be either feared as a weapon, or used as a weapon.

Peggy. PEGGY. does Warriors have to go after his own family???? does he bust down their door?????? WE NEED ANSWERS 😭 (Downfall IAU)
- hero-of-the-wolf
(@hero-of-the-wolf)
...
Warriors walked down the decorated hallway, forcing himself not to drag his feet despite how badly he wanted to. The last thing he wanted to do right now (or ever) was go down this hallway, but he knew it would be even worse if he was late.
So despite the dread crawling up his throat, he kept walking, until he reached the innocent-looking door in front of him.
His fingers trembled as he knocked, but he clenched them back into a fist, crossing his hands behind him and settling into parade rest as a sweet voice called for him to come in.
Cryonis braced himself, and opened the door.
A pale-haired women sat at the desk inside the spacious office, moonlight shining bright through the windows. Purple eyes landed on him as he approached, the dim lamp on Cias desk lighting up the smile curling at her lips.
Warriors hated that smile with every fiber of his being.
“Cryonis, it's about time,” she said, fingers lightly tapping at her desk. The polish on them looked like blood in the moonlight. "Sit."
He sat.
Cia stared at him for several moments without saying anything, raking her eyes over him as she usually did. That same smile played at her lips, but Warriors stayed steady and still, refusing to flinch. Reacting only ever made it worse.
He hated these meetings where she got him alone. Normally it would only be a matter of time before she tried something— his brief comfort today was that this meeting was time-sensitive, and would therefore only last so long.
He hoped, anyway.
"I've got an assignment for you, Cryonis," she finally began, leaning back in her seat. "I suppose you've heard about the missing healer?"
He gave her a nod, and she raised an eyebrow, staring at him intensely.
Warriors held back a sigh. "Yes I have. I read the reports." I was required to, actually. You know that.
He briefly thought back to what they’d detailed, and felt a flash of envy for the boy who’d miraculously escaped.
I hope that kid got far, far away from here.
Cia smiled. "Good. That means you have all the details. I suppose you’re wondering how this relates to your assignment though— we've finally tracked down who helped him escape. It was the same group who assisted a known-criminal in escaping justice. It’ll be your job to handle them.”
Dread swamped over Warriors, and he swallowed. These assignments were the worst possible ones to get; arresting good people who were only trying to help, dragging supers who’d managed to get free back into this awful world they’d built. He hated it with every fiber of his being.
His thoughts flitted briefly towards who it could be he was going after, but when they veered in a rather dangerous direction, he quickly silenced them, as if even thinking of it would make it true.
Cia's smile grew like she knew what he was thinking, and she slid a paper over to him. Warriors took it and silently read what was printed there. He skimmed past the legal jargon across most of it, scanning until he reached the bottom where three names and the address of the base was.
And felt his world freeze.
No.
Please no. She can't.
I've done everything I can to hide them, I swore I'd keep them safe—
Somehow Warriors managed to keep a straight face. “Forester residence?”
Cia nodded, a barely-hidden expression of glee on her face. “Yes. They’ve been on our watch list for a while, but we now have reports of them sheltering both wanted criminals and unregistered supers. We have reason to believe they were who helped the healer escape as well." Warriors felt his heart pound faster with every word, and he wondered for a moment if he would be sick. "All of which is illegal, of course... Is there a problem with that, Cryonis?”
Despite the way he wanted to scream, Warriors still didn’t visibly react. “No.”
“Good. Take a squad and move out as soon as possible then. I’ll be expecting a full report from you when you return,” she said with a hint of a purr, still smirking at him.
Warriors swallowed back the horror and dread at the task he'd been given, the promise he’d made to himself warring with the truth that his family had finally been exposed, and he couldn’t do a thing about it. He wordlessly took the file, and moved to leave Cia’s office.
“One more thing, Cryonis.”
Warriors stopped, and stayed frozen in place as he heard Cia get up, and walk towards him.
Her hand landed on his shoulder, and despite every muscle of his begging for him to run away, he stayed still when her breath brushed his ear.
“I trust there won’t be any conflict of interest here, Link,” she whispered, her fingers digging into his shoulder. “I know you won’t try anything, loyal hero that you are. Right?”
He managed a nod, and she grabbed his jaw and turned his head to face hers.
“Don’t do anything foolish,” she said in a low voice, and Warriors barely held back a shudder as she stroked a finger along his chin. She leaned in even closer, until their lips were almost touching, and Warriors bit back a plea for her to stop touching him.
She’d only do it more if he said anything.
“Do what you’re told. It won’t be you who suffers if you don’t,” she finished softly, then finally leaned back, Warriors almost crying in relief. “Is that clear?”
"Yes Ma'am," he whispered, and her fingers tapped his chin once before she finally released him.
“Dismissed.”
Warriors forced himself not to run out of her office, his mind whirling with information, skin crawling from her touch. He could feel her gaze on his back up until he closed the door behind him with a hand he firmly told himself wasn’t shaking, and then stumbled against the opposite wall, breath hitching.
Something wet slipped down his cheek, and Warriors quickly wiped it away, too many emotions for him to even sort through roaring through his head.
He couldn’t do this. He couldn’t.
But if he didn’t, they’d only send someone else, and Cia had made it clear that if he didn’t do his job, his family would be the ones to suffer for it.
Warriors shut his eyes, then dragged in a breath, forcing himself to still his shaking. He quickly composed himself, tucking away every emotion back where he could deal with it later, then stood straight and tall, no sign of his inner turmoil visible on his face.
Time I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.
Then he left to go arrest his family.

If the ask game is still open: When Inko saw that the thief Takami was caught by Endeavor, she immediately went to look for her friend from the orphanage, Tomie.
1 - Tomie and Inko learned to sew together. The orphanage they were at wanted the children to acquire all the practical skills they could get and while every children learn to knit, Inko loved sewing and tailoring clothes while Tomie learned to embroider for fun. This is important because when the Takami thief was arrested, there was a patch of a very beautiful and very specific embroidery on his jacket. Since Tomie absolutely sucks at choosing romantic partners, Inko immediately realized that Tomie had moved in with a hitman. And not even a good one at that.
2 - She goes to the town where the Takami thief was found and wanders a bit until she finds Tomie and a five-year-old in the streets. Tomie tells her that her honey was arrested. The child is barefoot. Inko buys him Endeavor sneakers (they are cheap and good quality and he is incredibly happy about it) then brings everyone in her tiny apartment. Baby Keigo is the perfect roommate who cleans the apartment, catches birds and tries too cook them and Inko keeps telling him that no, it's not necessary. Tomie is not and Inko, fed up, tells her to GET A HOLD OF HERSELF. When Tomie asks her if Inko is going to kick her out if she doesn't, Inko tells her that no, she is going to kick Tomie's ass. Tomie 100% believes her, leaves, and she comes back in the evening, she announces that she had found a job and that she is going to pay half of the rent and some of the grocery bills now.
3 - Inko heavily suspects that Tomie's new job is absolutely not legal but she is poor and doesn't care much about illegality. It happens that Tomie is making a lot of money and she expects her to move out in the next week but Tomie is finding out what it's like to live with someone actually nice to her, is nice to her son, and let's be honest, Inko is an excellent cook. However, about a week later, some strange woman with a bullet wound in her stomach breaks into her home and passes out in Inko's bathroom. When the HPSC comes knocking to ask them if they have seen the awful sniper hero who killed the HPSC President, Inko throws a crocheted blanket over Kaina's limp form and lies through her teeth because she doesn't trust the government.
4 - They take a bigger apartment because Kaina also doesn't leave. Inko wonders if she is turning into one of those crazy cat ladies but with people technically on the run from the law. Tomie is still working as a very efficient look-out for criminals. Kaina isn't killing anyone lately but she acts as security detail for people who also work in the underworld. Inko has finished her studies but found out that there are more money to be made making reinforced clothes for the black market than hero costumes in the hero industry. Keigo is so happy that his mom is happy and that her aunts love him. (Aunt Inko even chased a HPSC recruiter with a slipper on two city blocks!)
5 - I will pass over the fact that Inko got a fling with a guy that turned out to be the boogeyman of the underworld, that Tomie and Kaina will never live it down and that Keigo cried the first time he saw Izuku because of how tiny and squishy he was. Instead, I am just going to say that their new neighbor moved in with her children in the apartment next door but her eldest accidentally burned the wall separating their homes down. At first, they put a curtain but soon, Himura Rei and her kids joined the little tribe.

Family of Spies 🕵🏻♀️ | Everett Ross headcanon
Pairs with “Family of Heroes”
Marvel masterlist
Requested 📨: yes/no (for @autistic-solar-fandom)
——————
Avenger!reader & Ross’ kids sneaking onto a mission with their parents would look like:
How the heathens managed to find y’all is a mystery of its own. You don’t know how to react first: with praise or with anger.
To paint the picture, you and Ross are undercover in a conjoined mission between the Avengers & CIA. The target in question is someone suspected of harboring a fugitive with intel of the super soldier serum created in Madripoor. After Sam and Bucky had settled the issue in New York, you both were sent to recover the fugitive in a manner lowkey as possible.
What neither you--nor your agencies--could prepare for was your children tracking y'all down.
You may be an Avenger (highly skilled and known to put fear in God themself) but at the end of the day you’re a parent first. So, it is no surprise when you lose your shit on the children who infiltrated the highly classified mission you and your husband were on. "I don't want to hear it." "But we just thought--." "And now I have to hear it."
Like you, Everett was very displeased and had to hold his tongue. You already unleashed your wrath he felt maybe it was a good idea to calm the situation than escalate it further by grilling them. He did, however, make his frustration and disappointment known, "We raised you to know better. What the hell were you thinking?! This is not only dangerous, but illegal!"
Your daughter, who you both know had interest in working for Intelligence, immediately went into explanation mode. The excuse they gave--besides missing y'all and worrying about you both not coming home---was that she and her brother could help in the undercover mission. "How exactly do you plan to do that? You haven't even finished high school." "No, but we're already your kids. How hard is it to play the role of a family?"
For your son, he had always wanted to test out the gadgets he'd made. This was his opportunity, but your concern was someone getting hurt since they had not been tested in a concealed environment. Ross agreed, which only had your son pouting. "But dad, think of how useful they can be?" "Son, we're already expecting to go to jail for even considering letting you both help...but we will be sent to the Raft for allowing you to use those when they have not been approved by the Director."
Several times during the mission you about lost it when your daughter or son scurried off. They'd return with new information, completely shocking you both wondering just how the hell they managed to get it. "Where did you hear this?" "That man told the guy beside him. I pretended to read my book and sat at the table right next to them. They didn't pay me any mind."
At one point you did receive a message from Fury asking why his sources are telling him your son was spotted at y'alls location to which you played dumb and prayed he'd dismiss it. Which he did....cause Fury just wants the job done by any means necessary.
Eventually, after several minutes of going back and forth and deciding not to strangle your kids for being so irresponsible, you eventually agree to their plan. This decision of course came with some ground rules. "You will do as we say--and do not act without permission. The second you do something that results in either of you getting hurt, I will personally be calling the U.S military to get your asses out of here." "Yes ma'am/sir"
By some grace of God, the mission was a success. No one, thankfully, was hurt--except for the associates of the man you and Ross were looking for in a hand-to-hand battle that left your kids speechless from their hiding space. The suspect was contained and transported to the Embassy, you and Ross collected your children and had a dinner involving take out and sodas.
The adrenaline your children experienced was enough to confirm that both wanted to pursue careers in espionage and intelligence. Something you and Everett were concerned about initially, but after seeing them and realizing they were equipped the skills needed to be successful agents/spies, you both accepted the inevitable.
"We did good, didn't we honey?" Ross kissed your temple, clicking his glass with yours as you leaned into his side from your spot watching your kids reenact the fight between you and the bad guys. "We sure did. Who would've thought we'd become a family of spies after all?"

The Powerpuff Girls Movie Starters
"They are utterly helpless and in desperate need of a true hero!"
"Well, aren't you all cute and bubbly?"
"Birthday! It's your birthday! I should get gifts!"
"All I've got to do is be a good parent!"
"Note to self: good parents don’t leave their kids home alone."
"Sugar, spice, and everything nice, who would have guessed that's what little girls were actually made of?"
"I'll go wash up, then we'll bring in the furniture."
"They’re really special. I mean really special and I just want to make sure they’ll be okay so what do you think? Do you think they’ll be okay?"
"This is what happens when you put twenty little kids in one room."
"What’s the point of this game anyway?"
"Oh, no! I’ve been infected!"
"You know, I've got a nice car."
"What are you doing? We’re in a serious pickle!"
"Got you, you little bunny."
"The game is over and it’s your bedtime."
"I'm glad you had so much fun because tomorrow will be a busy day too."
"Unfortunately, people often get scared or angry when they don’t understand something special or unique."
"People here are nice. Things will be fine!"
"He’s in cahoots with the evil pickle cart killers!"
"We really would like for you to come downtown with us so we can ask you a few questions."
"He hates us. He totally hates us!"
"He probably just got held up, or maybe the car broke, or maybe he just forgot, or... maybe he hates us."
"Should the manufacturing of super powered children be illegal?"
"I was reaching down between my legs to ease the seat back when this atomic bug buzzed in, with no fair warning!"
"Used to be a time when you could buy an honest pickle."
"They are little freaks, aren’t they?"
"They don't know I'm in jail."
"Well, it’s official. I have no idea where we are."
"Maybe there’s a box we can get in around back!"
"Go away. Please. Do not look at me."
"You’re no monster, mister. You’re just really dirty."
"How could you know what it’s like for people to fear and despise you for the very things that make you special?"
"This brain is full of brilliant ideas, but will anyone listen? No."
"Your powers are great! You just gotta believe in yourself!"
"You did very good. Very good indeed."
"Well, there is one last, teeny tiny, itsy bitsy thing we still need."
"I thought the zoo kept all the animals in cages."
"They are unaware that your actions will have helped change their world forever!"
"You think they'll still be made at us for playing tag?"
"Jail? Lawsuits? Angry mobs? What’s next?"
"This isn’t making the town a better place!"
"Do not continue with the ramblings, for my ramblings are the ramblings to be obeyed!"
"That big fat dumb jerk! He duped us! He planned it all along and we fell for it!"
"What does it look like I’m doing? I’m building a house ‘cause now we have to live here!"
"I don’t wanna sleep on a rock!"
"We weren't going to get people to stop hating us by breaking rules!"
"Ugh, never mind! I’m not fighting with you and I’m not talking to you, EVER!"
"There's too many monkeys!"
"GET YOUR HANDS OFF HIM YOU DARN DIRTY APE!"
"I didn’t mean it! It was an accident! And he wouldn’t let go! And then the dog! That stupid dog! And then the monkeys!"
"Come on, let’s put an end to this gorilla warfare!"
"We’ve got one last monkey to get off our backs!"
"It’s good you little freaks know when you’re beaten."
"I have to seize control of an area and force its inhabitants to follow my way of thinking."
"Now let’s get out of this town and find a new, safe place to live!"
"We already tried running away."
"Oh, my! You’re actual trying to stop me? That’s so cute!"
"Who are you calling cute?"
"You dare challenge ME? Attempt to defeat ME? Try to destroy ME?"
"None of them will ever understand you as I can."
"Maybe everyone would like us more if we were just normal little girls."
"I was wondering if maybe sometime we could like call you to save the day or whatever."

Headcanons incoming!
Mostly concerning Trafalgar Law, but also the world of One Piece as a whole and the Heart Pirates, so…. Spoiler warning?
Law has perfected the art of being both simple and easy to understand while being so complicated and complex about it he’s almost incomprehensible and impossible to figure out. Mostly due to the fact that he gets insanely impacted and influenced by his past. Example;
His favorite food is rice and fried fish, because rice was his favorite food as a kid and his mom would always make a new, delicious rice dish on his birthday (he would request this instead of cake).
Which while it makes sense that rice is a favorite food, grilled/fried fish is less so, because it became a favorite of Laws while Cora-san was dragging him from hospital to hospital. They would often fish and eat it, often slightly burnt and without any seasoning. Still Law loves it, and if he had a sappy bone in his body, he’d probably say “it tastes like love” or something.
Basically, both rice and fish is his favorite food because they are his comfort foods. He’s not aware of that however and would probably never eat it again if he figured it out.
Laws love for comic books heroes (specifically Sora) and his love for medicine stems from the same place. An admiration for people who saves the lives of others. He no longer remembers, but he used to look at his parents with pride and love because in his eyes “they (were) superheroes”.
Flevance was extremely rich and flourishing, and healthcare was free, the notion that someone could die because they couldn’t afford healthcare was a terrible chock for Law and further cemented the idea that the world was a terrible place and didn’t deserve to exist once he escaped after the purge of his homeland.
In fact, a lot of Laws revulsion towards the marines and the government stems from the fact that they “pretend to be Sora but they are Germa”. In other words, he hates any and all pretenses (which is hilarious considering he often plays up how much of a bad guy he is) and will not sugarcoat anything even if his life depended on it.
The creation and sustaining of false fate is the worst crime in his eyes. And while he loves a bunch of people who have done this to him, he doesn’t fully forgive them for it, though he understands. (The nun, his parents and Cora-san are people who hurt him irreparably with their actions and he can’t forgive them for it, but he loves them and understands regardless)
Submarines are forbidden by the world government, that’s why you see so few of them in the one piece world. They were originally made for transport across the calm belt but because they could only be made so big before they became a liability, they are/were extremely expensive to make, they were eventually deemed “not profitable”. And with the discovery of how to build ships that could safely cross the calm belt, submarines were eventually scrapped as a profitable venture by the government, but they are still heavily scrutinized and outlawed in the world as a whole.
It’s ban is so complete that in the original, first copy of “SORA - warrior of the sea”, Sora originally had a yellow submarine, but the copy was later re-released where the sub had been replaced with a yacht-looking ship because the government got their panties in a twist because the “hero” was using an illegal vessel and they didn’t want the public to have any idea about submarines, least of all a favorable impression on them.
Yes, Law painting the Polar Tang yellow is a wink and a nod to the submarine Sora had, and a middle finger to the government. Because the man can not help himself. XD
Law still reads the Sora comic, it releases a new chapter once a month and Law will read it with/to the crew. Think of it as a miniature comic-con, only with your favorite comic and closest friends. They make a whole day out of it, with reenactment of favorite sence and general tomfoolery and partying.
Any member of the crew who isn’t a Sora (or comic)-fan, will become one, it’s inevitable. The entire crew are not all as diehard fans as Law, but they all love and look forward to their monthly little geek-out regardless.
If or when someone on the crew gets seriously hurt, to the point where they are bedridden and passed out in the med bay, Law will generally refuse to leave their side (only exceptions are if they’re still fighting and he’s needed elsewhere, because they won’t make it otherwise).
If Law is tired enough, and nobody else is around, Law will start humming or singing softly to a patient (as long as they aren’t awake at the time). It’s also a subconscious thing that he picked up from his mother, who would sing softly to him and Lami and stoke their hair when they were sick.
The birth of Lami is what made Law decide that he wanted to be a doctor. Nothing traumatic happened, he just thought it was neat.
Law’s father was a genius surgeon, he practically revolutionized the field of heart surgery and more or less invented a surgical technique that saved the lives of hundreds yearly. Law makes sure to keep track of just how many lives it saves, he doesn’t let his crew know why he’s interested in that for specifically this one surgery but they indulge him nonetheless.
White/Amber lead disease kinda makes no sense to me, so I HC it so it makes more sense to me, it’s possibly a bit different from canon, but I figure you can hand wave it away with faulty information because of the limitations of most of the op world not being terribly advanced scientifically.
Basically, what do we know? Flevance got extremely rich from mining a rare metal. Specifically by exporting (selling) it to other countries. The metal was used in practically everything; makeup, jewelry, food. So why did only the people in Flevance get sick? Why didn’t they rest of the world realize it was a case of poisoning and not an actual illness? Why did it take so long for it to take effect? How was it genetic?
Basically, (and I’m not a expert) I HC it as the metal, the ore, is slightly radioactive or something similar. It breaks down the dna of people who come in (prolonged) contact with it and mutates it and from then on, exposure to the metal itself is highly toxic, and someone who has been mutated in this way (or who has at least one biological parent that is at the time of conception) the metal itself stay in their body permanently.
So the metal is not showing any signs of being dangerous to the outside world, the government knows but has given the statement that it’s safe to mine, and people believe that and swallow the propaganda that it’s a dangerous disease wholeheartedly.
It’s why the government helped in the cleanup and destruction of the bodies, because they were only one autopsy away from being exposed.
Law is probably one of the very few people who understands perfectly how the ‘disease’ works and that’s because his devil fruit gives him the information. He knows he’s muted and the only way for him to stay healthy is to make sure that he has little to no contact with the metal and in case he gets it in him, remove it immediately.
There’s no real cure, short of df intervention, and it’s why Law has no interest in fathering children. (As far as Laws concerned, he already has his crew xD)
Law lives vicariously through his crew, in the sense that seeing them happy and healthy is what makes him feel all happy inside. That doesn’t stop him from moaning about them like an angsty teenager with embarrassing parents.
Break, doggo demands walk 😅

Backstory for Alfonso "The Face-Breaker" Tombstone, the half-orc monk:
His dad is a human, was sort of a wandering type in his youth and spent some years close to a more neutral tribe of orcs where he fell in with an local lady. After she had Al, she wanted nothing to do with either of them due to a half-breed son being something that would make her a pariah within her community, so Al's dad took his son and they left to plant new roots. They eventually settled down in a mostly human/dwarven town where his dad found work as a simple laborer, married a human seamstress, and had two more kids. Despite the loving family, life was still hard for Al outside of that given he experienced quite a lot of ostracization from the townsfolk who had little love in their hearts for orcs.
Al never received a formal education and the fact that he can read or write at all is due to his adoptive mother being quite adamant about teaching all her children. While this makes him come across as simple, Al is a relatively curious soul, mostly interested in the people around him who will give him the time of day. By the time he was in his teens, he was well known around his town as a helpful, polite sort of creature who rarely got into trouble with the adults.
When he was old enough, Al started doing manual labor gigs to help his family out of some debt and eventually got into illegal boxing matches that paid more than even a months worth of construction work would as his natural capabilities from his heritage gave him an edge in a fight. After a few years of this, as he hit his early twenties, he was scouted for a more performative career. In the athletic theater of professional wrestling, he found a niche to fall into with ease, combining raw strength, showmanship, and athleticism to become something of a local 'evil' darling with the cruel and violent character that was Alfonso "The Face-Breaker" Tombstone which he played.
Local gigs turned into traveling to different cities for different circuits. He met a tag team partner. The crowds loved a big scary orc and his little evil halfling 'master' who he'd toss around the ring. His notoriety was gaining traction, but Al wanted more, wanted a change.
He didn't like being the stereotype he'd always been, constantly badgering his manager and company to let him change his character. To play the good guy, the big hero that was closer in personality to Al in reality, as he was well known in his circles for being a companionable, encouraging man who was always willing to help newbies and never brought drama outside of was mandated in a match. But The Face-Breaker made money and the crowd doesn't want an orc as the hero, so his requests for a heel-face turn were summarily denied.
Then his tag team partner died of a tragic accident. And his girlfriend breaks up with him for another more popular human wrestler. And then management decides they don't like how well regarded this half-orc is, so he's put on the fast track to his character getting shuffled out and forgotten.
It's all going to hell, but Al's keeping up the optimism even as he's traveling to Baldur's Gate to lose in a humiliating fashion. Thank the gods he gets kidnapped and wormed and crash landed into the middle of nowhere with a bunch of horny weirdos. Problem is, Al isn't an adventurer, he doesnt know much about the wider world other than what he's been exposed to, and all of this is going way over his head.
Thankfully, he's got a good head on his shoulders and he's a quick learner which is going to help become regarded as what he's always wanted to be in some shape or another: a goddamn hero.
Random extras:
Al's real name is Algrusk, not Alfonso. He adopted the new one when he started working outside of his hometown. He's always gone by Al ever since he was a kid.
His mother also taught him how to sew, garden, and cook. He made his own costumes when he first started wrestling and he's relatively handy in the kitchen, a boon when you're a mid-twenties bachelor.
Al has had several relationships with women that have never lasted more than a year or two. He's never had anything more than a one night stand or short term friends with benefits sort of situation with men despite the fact he tends to find himself infatuated with men more often. Part of this is that he's fallen into the expectation of giving his parents grandkids and that is just how he's always viewed finding a partner and his own life plan.
Al's a very down to earth kind of person who's main concerns until getting main characterizationed have been what's in front of him: living another day, his family, his work, paying his bills, etc etc etc. Because of his lack of education and low class upbringing, Al associates mostly with other performers, laborers, and the common folk, finding he has a hard time relating to the upper echelon of society. He also does not really worship any gods, and doesn't see them as much to think about as he is not someone important enough for them to think about as well.
#jacq writes#i might make a tag for him#who know#now hes going to romance a guy who wants to be a god which...#wowsers thatll be a fun convo#he genuinely hasnt met a wizard before. or had any experience with the undead. or the fey.#hes just a regular guy who does wrestling#now hes dealinf with mindflayers and cults and gods and hags and stuff??? what the fuck?#bg3
