Hi again!! thank you for the previous response, it’s made the wheels in my head turn and turn, I can’t stop thinking about those two 😭

I am rewatching ttoi since I sped through it the first time, and this might be old news but I noticed in s1ep3 Hugh and Glenn are speculating behind Ollie’s back that he may be bisexual when Ollie’s been hanging around Dan and playing squash with him, they even make obscure jokes to Ollie’s face after talking with him about Ollie and Dan’s morning squash game when Hugh’s about to be interviewed by Angela, “I hope she doesn’t bounce me off the walls,” with a cheeky grin and Ollie looks taken aback and shocked by Hugh’s implication, like he doesn’t believe what Hugh just suggested about Ollie and Dan. And then Glenn asks Ollie, “did you know Angela was in the building?” And Ollie sounds defensive, says, “yes.” Glenn glances pointedly at Dan then back at Ollie and says, “will she be jealous?” I can’t believe I didn’t catch this before 😭

But now I’m thinking of the dosac office where it’s more widely known that Ollie is probably bisexual even if he doesn’t admit it, and Malcolm getting ahold of this info. He’s already pimped him out to Emma, why not some guy? So it’s like the bathroom scene where Malcolm told Ollie how to fuck Emma, but this time he’s got Ollie pushed up against the counter telling him in great detail how Ollie’s going to suck some other guy’s cock, let him bend Ollie over and fuck him, etc etc, and Ollie’s pissed, furious that Malcolm would do this, but Ollie does it anyway bc ofc he will, but he also can’t stop himself from replaying that moment in the bathroom—if Malcolm could say all those things about him then maybe Malcolm’s thought about what it’d be like to get his cock sucked by Ollie, what it’d be like to be inside Ollie, what it’d be like to press Ollie’s legs down till his knees hit his chest and fuck Ollie hard. i dont have a "people chosen by legendarys" thing in my main au but if i did, heres whod have what

violet, leaf, and green would have moltres, articuno, and zapdos. mewtwo would have no one. mew would go to yellow ig bc the boys don't get legendaries, it's the rules.

its a fight over daphne but i think celebi gets it in the end. in this au then the chosen two for lugia and ho oh would be sparrow and silver which is. certainly a duo thatd tooootallyyyy get along lmao. kris to suicune. raikou to anabel since i am firmly in the only one for the beasts camp. dunno about entei.

ivy and brendan with their latias and latios. no one for kyogre and groudon bc chosens are for good legendaries who dont purposefully try to kill off all of humanity. but rayquaza would have wallace. zinnias pissed about it. lisia and jirachi, then wally and deoxys. no one with the regis bc they never get woken in my plot.

chryssa and darkrai who used to be paired with her dad. palmer and cresselia as a match. azelf, uxie, and mesprit with maylene, prof rowan, and lucas. odd group, but theyre all there when theyre freed from the red chain (and cynthia, but her being overlooked is funny to me). thatd be it for sinnoh i think. barry maybe gets one some day but idk who. maybe somethint silly like shaymin, maybe something big like giratina. candice could theoretically be chosen of regigigas, but thats more a caretaker thing. oh and brandon (the hoenn frontier brain) has the sinnohan regis but i doubt he's a "chosen" of them.

ieva and n, and reshiram and zekrom ofc. had a cute idea of bryony, hugh and concordia matching the swords of justice. bryony-virizion, hugh-terrakion, concordia-cobalion. she would not be its chosen bc she is not human, but in this scenario i imagine zorua rides on keldeos back like a knight lol. and uhh thats it. i refuse to acknowledge the genies, dunno about victini and genesect (it stays with bryony for a bit but shes already spoken for), and kyurem is put in the corner with kyogre and groudon.

carmella and diancie, trevor and zygarde, calem and xerneas, shauna and yveltal and ig tierno and hoopa...? hoopa seems like it'd like to dance. that leaves only volcanion.

lillie and nebby!! aka solgaleo. then the tapu's and the kahuna’s. gladion and silvally? i think thatd actually be it. necrozma is with kyurem and the weather duo in time out.

they're legendaries but ngl i don't consider the raidons one so they cant have a chosen. so, alyssa and ogerpon. carmine and pecharunt for the lolz. kieran and terapagos? ik how the whole scene goes, but i think you could tweak it. could do something with arven, penny, nemona, and ig florian and the four treasures. dunno whod be paired with who.

I'm very curious as to what "reckless driving" could be about

oh goodness yes. i call "reckless driving" my magnum opus because i don't think any piece of creative writing has ever taken this much planning and meticulous thinking...its probably bc i just really wanna get it right lol ANYWAYS reckless driving is a jack hughes x ofc fic (the ofc has already appeared actually, in my trevor x belle fic). the song this piece is based on is reckless driving by lizzy mcalpine and ben kessler, which tells you enough. excerpt below!

“I can’t imagine you being a bitch to your sisters’ significant others they’ve brought home.”

She shrugs, “I don’t think I am. I’ve been told I can be a bit closed-off when you first meet me though.”

“Hey. Nothing wrong with taking time to feel people out.” 

“Some people don’t have the patience for that, though.”

“For what?”

“I don’t know. A lot of people just assume people who aren’t outwardly charismatic aren’t worth their time.”

Jack blinks, thinking about her words over and over again like a broken record. “Well, then those people are stupid.”

She looks at him and he’s momentarily distracted by the way her white headband creates a sort of halo around her. She lets out a small smile. Jack wants to frame it and put it on the wall of his room back in Jersey. She chuckles, and Jack feels defensive all of a sudden.

“What?” He asks, trying not to sound indignant. 

“Nothing, it’s just…I don’t know. That’s such an interesting thing coming from someone who I imagine is exactly just that.”

“Just what?” He’s not doing a great job today at keeping track of where a conversation goes. 

She huffs. “Outwardly charismatic. You’re telling me you’re not?”

Jack’s hands suddenly start to sweat. “I mean, I guess. But that doesn’t come easy to everyone. I still don’t think it comes easy to me. I’ve just been forced to be okay at it because of what I do.”

She starts swatting at bugs so they hop out of the trunk and start driving back. She doesn’t miss a beat in their conversation. “That’s another reason why I love photography. No one expects anything out of me or pays attention to me. I’m just there to capture the moments.”

Jack can’t help but laugh, thinking back to his rookie year and all the damn expectations that were placed on him that he didn’t surpass. It’s water under the bridge now, but he would be lying if he said that he doesn’t think about it once in awhile, especially when the draft bust comments come back after a stretch of bad games. 

“I don’t know what that’s like, having no one expect anything out of me,” he admits, carefully pulling out on the main road. 

“Do you like that? Having a chip on your shoulder?”

“Yeah, in a way. Definitely lights a fire under your ass and motivates you. But, I don’t know, it can get to be a lot, I guess. But I’m used to it. People have been expecting things out of me since I was 16.”

Amelie hums, adjusting her headband. “Must be a lonely place to be at times.”

“Where?”

“The top.”

FOUNDER AND DESTROYER MY BELOVEDDDDDD in tsnverse im a slut for best friends to lovers but irl its just. idk. the way they both still are best friends and marks lil "dustin, if you're out there, i love you man, thanks for (parsing college classes for each college) and also posting him for friends day is so cute. i hate them /pos) tbh its been sooo long i think since i got into the movie, i think it was sept 2019 i watched for the first time (at the time it was bc of andrew garfield and i also am interested in tech -- im currently a compsci major now LOLLLLLL) and i was like "cool! it has andrew in it and its about tech, im down" -> *why am i reading fanfiction about mark zuckerberg* and then i think beginning/mid of 2020 i was SUPER into it, and ofc how my hyperfixations go i want to learn everything abt it-- and that included what actually happened, lollll. i think tsn is what actually kicked off my writing adventure on a03, even tho ive been writing since i was young a lot of the timeline is so hazy bc it was pandemic time, but i think overtime id been reading a lot of what actually happened and i think its SO much interesting then the movie???? peace and love dustin but theres so many wild stories out there that kind of just keep dragging me in LOLLLL (like casa facebook!?!? hello???????) actually it was cause of ya i ordered 'the facebook effect' off of amazon LOLLLLLLL i bought the accidental billionaires with my first paycheck so it kind of feels full circle, a little bit (ive read it before and all i can remember is at the time my boyfriend was trying to talk to me abt something and i was like 'how do i admit im reading abt facebook without looking weird'

sybbie!! she is a cute child and i do love some of the dynamics that came to be because of sybil and tom's marriage. tom and mary are a good duo that i love, but seeing tom interact with matthew, isobel, violet and edith, to name a few, is really fun! i wouldn't have gotten to see these relationships if they weren't married, so a few point for that

What made you ship it?

the s4 finale!! i knew people shipped them but i didn't really see it before that. it was a really heartwarming moment and it sold me on this ship.

What are your favorite things about the ship?

that they are just partners, you know? even if you take away the romance, they are one of the most stable dynamics in the whole show and you can just see how much they treasure each other.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

idk how unpopular this is but i didn't like any of their storylines after they got engaged :/ it just made carson look like a bad husband lmao

1. How long have you been writing?

Me and my cousins used to make little illustrated booklets when we were kids. I was around 6-7 years old (probably) because I remember making Sailor Moon comics as well and I was that age when Sailor Moon showed in my country. When I was a kid what I really wanted to do was do comics, but things happened. :”D

2. What are the major themes of your current wip(s)?

I’m trying to think back and most of my WIPs seem to be about life getting pear-shaped and the characters having to deal with that. Two of them will need the ‘Major Character Death’ warning at AO3 if I ever post them. 

3. What do you want people to take away from your story once they’ve read it?

Depends on what fic they read. :”D But if a person got something from my fics that I did not intend, then all the power to them. So long as it’s not ‘that writer sucks’ lol!

4. Would you be excited if people write fanfiction about your wip(s)?

I’m torn because I love sharing headcanons and trends, and I’d be SUPER flattered if anyone wrote fic based on any of mine but there’s also the worry re: accusations of plagiarising and stealing someone else’s ideas. So personally, I’d be excited. But in a more general level it’s a bit of a thornier issue. 

And I know this is an issue with trad pub/canon vs fanfic on a bigger scale (like how some traditionally published writers won’t read fics based on their own work no matter how supportive they are of transformative work because of the whole plagiarism issue (accidental or otherwise)) but yeah.    

5. What’s your go-to writing beverage?

Water lol. I don’t need to drink anything to get going, but I do need cigarettes to function properly. Pls don’t start smoking. 

6. Who is your favorite oc? Tell me about them!

I’m going to talk about an OC from Travelling in company--a Junpei + Phi detective bros fic. So there will be spoilers.

But yeah I really like Hirata Ichirou. He’s the Mr Body in this fic: the character who was written to die so we can investigate what happened. At first I didn’t really know exactly what happened to him (lmao I knew it was cult-related but also personal but I didn’t decide until I was halfway done with the fic) and he was simply a nameless chinpira, but as the fic went on I realised I knew exactly what Hirata died of and why. I grew really fond of the guy. 

He likes to eat parfaits with his childhood friend, I mean. Come on.  

In actual WIPs uuuh. I don’t generally write OCs? Sorry folks. :”D

7. Do you feel that mistakes are important learning tools in the writing journey?

Not if I don’t catch the mistakes and correct them. One of the most important learning tools imo is reading books. Not fics by other people (which btw are really good and writers like franticbabbles taught me a lot about writing) but traditionally published novels. See how its done by someone who (hopefully) has a professional editor to ‘curb their spur’, decide what works for you and what doesn’t. I find that aside from having a beta, it helps you catch mistakes and decide whether you want to correct them or not. 

As Neil Gaiman said--and I paraphrase--your style are the things that you get ‘wrong’. But it defo helps to know the rules before you break them.

8. Rank your ocs by their capability in a footchase (either running after or from smth, your choice)

Here’s a bunch from Travelling in company because that fic has yakuza in it.

1, Honda Mitsuo/Wakaisha #1: very competent man. Can probably kill you with a paperclip

2, Mishima: not incredibly physically active but he has the brains and the resources to make it so he doesn’t have to run very far if he has absolutely no choice in the matter

3, Hirata Ichirou: okay dude. A chinpira and has probably run away from the police/other yakuza members before. Knows shortcuts and dead ends.

4, Satou Keiichi: more buff than fast on his feet. You can trust him to protect you, but not so much when it comes to running after escaping attackers.

Bonus from Kentucky for Christmas:

5, Hugh Grant (not the actor but a detective who insisted he looked like the actor): not very useful. Fell down a building while on the run from gangsters. 1/10 won’t recommend.  

9. Does your wip have romance? tell me about it!! if not tell me about a friendship/important relationship in your wip!!

Oh all the romance. I only write romance fics, didn’t you know? :”D All those mysteries and crimes are just frills for the romance and bonding. 

Right now I’m in the middle of writing a scene where Aoi and Junpei bond over Gunplas. 

10. Do you believe in the advice kill your darlings?

Yes. I have a ‘rags box’ which is a gdocs file where I throw all the lines of dialogue and narrative I had to cut from fics. Hoping that someday, somewhere, I can recycle them in some form. Don’t let them go entirely, they might still be useful for another piece if not the one you’re working on. 

Another thing I learned from this guy who taught Creative Writing in my first language was be mindful of your POV. In an exercise, he made us write about the emotions of an old woman going to a shopping mall right after the death of her husband. I was raring to go. I wrote about this old woman grabbing her daughter’s elbow tightly because she felt she was going to float all the way to the domed ceiling of the mall--that’s how light she felt. 

Teacher: Is that the old woman talking, or you?

Me: How do you mean?

Teacher: That literary~ language, is that her or you? 

Me: It was me.

Teacher: Great, rewrite that. 

Yeah, sometimes we have to kill our darlings, our floating into the ceiling moment, to present the experiences of a certain character fully. And that’s fine. 

(It’s also fine if you don’t want to. It’s just something that works for me.) 

11. Do you prefer plotting or worldbuilding? Why?

Worldbuilding. I’m so bad at coming up with events is why :”D I literally need prompts. But once I have a firm grasp on the world the characters are inhabiting I get more ideas on what they could do and what could happen around them.

Cuz I believe that our loved ones can contact us, but I don’t really believe in ghosts the way they’re presented in TV/movies. Idk. And I suppose there’s got to be life other than us somewhere, but I doubt it’s little green men. Honestly, I don’t feel strongly about either of these things, so I’d put myself somewhere in the middle on the belief spectrum. DO YOU DRIVE? IF SO, HAVE YOU EVER CRASHED? Yes. -_- I crashed about 2 or 3 weeks ago, actually. NOT HAVING A CAR SUCKS. I slid on the ice and flipped my car onto its side. It was a nice car that I’d JUST BOUGHT IN AUGUST, and I’m totally mad at myself, grr. But most importantly, I wasn’t hurt -- I’m very loyal to the car brand because of it!

WHAT WAS THE LAST BOOK YOU READ? I’m presently reading The Impossible by Joyce Smith, and Phantom by Susan Kay. I haven’t finished either since I only read on my lunch break. WHAT WAS THE LAST MOVIE YOU SAW?  Uhh, I just watched Happy Death Day. I liked it! But as for theatres, I honestly have no idea. I barely remember these things, most especially if the movie wasn’t that great. WHAT’S THE WORST INJURY YOU’VE EVER HAD? Idk... I guess when I was wearing headgear and walking through the hallway at night, and my brother ran right into me and gave me a fat lip? My mom called me Angelina Jolie, lol. That was YEARS ago though (around middle school), but it’s the first and only time I’ve had a fat lip, so I guess that’s why it stands out to me. DO YOU HAVE ANY OBSESSIONS RIGHT NOW? Not really. I’ve been yearning for a new fandom since 2014, so if anyone knows something good, LET ME AT ‘EM. Though tbh, I only get involved in fandoms if I have a ship, cuz otherwise, there’s no real point in making stuff. Not to me, anyway. DO YOU TEND TO HOLD GRUDGES AGAINST PEOPLE WHO HAVE DONE YOU WRONG? Sure, for a while. I don’t think it’s really that easy to instantly forgive someone, unless, ofc, the offense wasn’t really that bad. I like to think I eventually let things go though, cuz forgiveness is important. It’s not healthy to keep all that rage pent up inside.

it’s been over two years since my last entry. so much has changed. to update March 8 2018 me:

you give up on job searching atm until 4/24/18. that’s when you start reaching out to all the promotion companies from kucr. planetary was the other promotion company you remembered besides terrorbird. cirstina was super nice and chill and said they just wrapped internships for the summer but to inquire again for the fall. 

you wait those months while still working at mcdonalds. you get good at it and things are second nature to you. you still have moments where you storm out, but you get better at controlling your temper. 

you check back in august and cristina says there are positions open in the fall. it was pretty easy as they accepted you right away. you do this bat shit crazy thing where you try to balance the two. planetary internship Tuesday Thursday Friday and McDonald’s the rest of the days. you even do opening shift during the weekends (4am-12pm).

you’re mostly quiet during your internship. you participate in riyl’s. you mainly talk to cristina while mailing. you don’t open up much until hayoung joins in november i think. mcdonalds is the same as usual, but your sleep schedule’s FUKED UP.

you hear in december that maria (who worked in publicity) is quitting. cristina encourages you to apply. you talk with adam and the interview tbh goes horribly. not like you didn’t have anything to say, but everything you said was wrong LOL. you also talk to george and ben and they lay out what press does but you dont catch any of that.

christmas office party happens and you drink a lot. you open up a lot to EVERYONE, iNCLUDING BEN about your love life (embarrassing) you’re obviously too drunk to drive home, but you stay over the night with nik and alison (goth bless their souls)

you check in with adam on the position occasionally until feb. 2019 when he breaks the bad news. the position’s filled. like how can you be surprised? but you’re still upset. you’re able to turn this as a positive to use your experiences to boost your resume.

you continue to work at mcdonalds and interview at places until you get a random email from adam exactly one year after you first emailed cristina about the internship. adam offers you the job. ofc you accept. you quit mcdonalds and start with planetary on may 1.

learning publicity is one hell of a learning curve. heck, you’re still learning how to do shit even now. but you’re thrown on the deep end with Luna. not your fault. not totally kristen’s fault. but that was a crazy client. 

anyways, your sleep schedule’s still fucked up because of your commute. but at least you have free weekends now! 

some highlights of 2019: you finally get a macbook! but you have a galaxy s9 as a phone lmfao. placements in The Line of Best Fit and Paste! you get absolutely entranced with warehouse raves. you literally go to at least once a month. falling in love with queen of jeans and linking up with their publicist Jamie Coletta (she’s super cool and the best at the game), going on two (2) dates with a really nice girl named sara. you got in your head and probably fucked that up. but it really wasn’t the time. christmas party 2019. same shenanigans but this time you don’t drink as much. you really look for places to move out to with ryan and he finds a house that angeli and linda live. two people are moving out and the rooms go for $500 and $600. you get the $500 room and are set to move in on Feb 16 2020. news of a disease called coronavirus is first detected in china. this will be important later.

oh 2020. what a shite year. if i told myself the things i’ll write down below i would not believe it. but here it is. everything that has happened so far in 2020:

first cases of coronavirus appear in washington on january. you’re not too concerned about it. 

you’re working this country artist aminah hughes and land a placement in american songwriter for January 31 (1st time!). there are some issues and they post it one day later, but you weren’t as attentive as you should’ve been over the weekend.

adam talks to you about it the following monday (2/3) in a really calm matter but you beat yourself up over it. so much so that on your way home, you totally don’t notice a pedestrian crossing galloping hills and eucalyptus and run them over. everything feels like a blur, but you’re able to talk to the police, karen, and kimberly (state farm) about it. you take tuesday-thursday off.

you move in (night before you saw bored lord and octo octa until 3am wtf). you don’t have a car (for obvious reasons), but you’re able to commute to work via bus/subway (which you would’ve done anyway cause you love public transportation lol)

you’re able to return to normal life mostly until middle march. cases of the newly named COVID-19 have spread throughout the united states and you hear of workspaces transitioning over to work from home operations. planetary soon follows suit. our last day in the office is march 13.

literally the week after you start wfh animal crossing new horizons comes out. that keeps you busy for like two, three months tops. it’s also a nice way to keep in touch with friends. 

your first therapy session happens on march 31. you’re able to talk about the accident, but it’s quickly directed to self-esteem. it’s an ongoing process, but you’re slowly advancing. it’s not linear, but it’s better than doing nothing.

Bandcamp establishes “Bandcamp Day”, 24 hour periods in which the site’s share of profits go directly to artists/labels. Started in April, will continue through the end of 2020. All the money I would normally spend on concerts goes here now. That and I fall to the hands of food delivery apps (door dash wins)

your campaign with Atta Boy gets going. first track premieres at Atwood Magazine (2nd time! [1st time was with sophia st. helen, another awesome client]). band’s super happy about it (even mr. josh brolin himself gave a shout out [bias ofc]). by the end of may you land their second single on THE MOTHERFUCKING FADER (1ST TIME OBVIOUSLY). 

everything else is going surprisingly well for the most part (except for elp, but i don’t wanna talk about those fucking idiots) despite the ever-changing landscape of music journalism. huge blogs are letting people go while smaller sites are remaining mostly the same. 

On May 25, George Floyd is murdered by Minneapolis police which sparks the biggest wave of activity in the Black Lives Matter movement since Michael Brown’s death in 2014. organizing/activism is still going on to this day (7/28). 

For me personally, I’m making a conscious effort to highlight Black artists on my Bandcamp days and general sharing of music. I also joined a book club (6/18) and read “Are Prisons Obsolete” in its entirety. We’re currently reading a comic series called Bitch Planet. Deep and meaningful conversations.

the family hears news of Lola’s declining health. June 23rd (Manila time) is the day she passes away. We’re all able to say our last goodbyes via facebook video call. this is the first time i see my dad cry.

funeral takes place on june 27th. we’re able to partake in the ceremony via zoom. the first and only funeral i “attended” online (so far).

I start “fixing” myself physically. I went to physical therapy from 6/8-7/7. the exercises do wonders to my knees (ty dr. bailey!). also saw a dermatologist on 7/10. really quick appt. kinda felt rushed imo, but i was given a special sunscreen that works so far? also recommended otc meds like claritin.

ended campaign with atta boy. really sad to see them go. currently coordinating with their new managers on a possible podcast and press setup. 

and that’s pretty much it! it’s a lot of shit, i know, but it happened all within 2 years. overall i’d say we were pretty successful in finding a big-girl job and MOVING OUT, WHICH I THOUGHT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN LMFAO. as for the shit you were hung up on with angelica, you’re so much better now, but you think about the good memories from time to time. sometimes it gets you down, but you’re thankful for the memories (come through fallout boy LMFAO AHAHA FALLOUT AMIRIGHT) and you learned from your mistakes. maybe it will be another two years before i leave another update, might be less, might be more. 

but i’m extremely proud at how far i’ve come.

FINAL TAKE:  I may have been a big fan of the massive work in 1917 and not a huge Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood lover, but I cannot argue with the artistic brilliance on display here. All the neon, the dinge, the sets-within-the-sets, and the period architecture were worth this.
