Pokemon Black 2 and White 2: Curtis and Yancy Gay Hack

So a little while ago, I thought “Wouldn’t it be cool if Rosa could date Yancy and Nate could date Curtis?  Would that not be a nice thing?” and despite knowing literally nothing about romhacking like a week ago, this happened?  Somehow??  It’s a pretty simple romhack that swaps Curtis and Yancy’s characters with some small edits to their dialogue to get rid of the resulting protag-misgendering.  Now you can finally be gay in Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 if you so desire.

My (extended) family decided several years back that everyone purchasing gifts for everyone is too expensive, so we decided to start doing a family white elephant gift exchange every year instead.

This year, I decided I would buy a tortilla blanket as my gift after seeing them online many times. This turned out to be a very fortuitous decision on my part.

We start the gift exchange, people are opening gifts, etc and its all normal until it gets to my brother's girlfriend. She picks a gift, opens it, and lo and behold it is my tortilla blanket I brought. She loves it. On the next turn, my cousin steals it from her. She's devastated but picks another gift to open.

It's another tortilla blanket.

She is, of course, elated at this turn of events. But now it is my turn, and I decide I shall steal the blanket from her. Everyone thinks this is hilarious (except for her, she's absolutely devastated again). She picks another gift and opens it.

It's a third tortilla blanket.

As it turns out, three of us, completely independently of each other, decided to purchase a tortilla blanket as our gift to bring to the exchange.

Everytime I read Frankenstein, the same line makes me put the book down and stare at the wall. It’s my favorite line in the book; it has its own highlighter color in my annotations. The first time I read it, I literally detoured after my last class just to tell my lit teacher how much I liked the line because I couldn’t wait until second period the next day. Here’s the line:

“Life, although it may only be an accumulation of anguish, is dear to me, and I will defend it.”

This is said by the creature. He wanted to live. He wanted to live life so badly even though he had had such a difficult one. He still loved the song of the birds and the smell of the flowers and the joy in the world even if he never got to truly experience that joy. I just. AHHHH.

He wanted to fight for a life he never got to live.

My favorite disaster game is FFXV which is probably all you need to ever know about me.

It actually approaches disasterpiece levels. What if we had a boyband road trip, but it’s actually a royal convoy, but it also makes zero sense as a royal convoy cuz the convoy is an idiot boyband. What if you spend the entire game rolling around a dying world with these idiots, and you get really attached to them in spite of yourself because you spend all your time fishing and camping like normal people. What if the game was just an ad for Coleman. What if you stay up all night fishing while the demons swarm you while your Coleman camping gear is safely enshrined in holy light. What if there’s a resort that’s also the only port in a bajillion miles, and that’s apparently normal and also it’s always busy but nobody uses it. What if the villain isn’t a villain at all but just the broken half of your savior narrative because the villains are the gods actually and you’re going to act out their fucked up sacrificial narrative no matter what. What if there’s a train to nowhere and everything is demons. What if the heroine is the most important character and we don’t even make her a character. What if we don’t even put the story in the base game at all.

Oh and the combat is a frustrating mix between hold-button simulator and a genuinely innovative and fun teleportation magic system. Good luck.
