A couple hundred years ago this day, the infamous Salem Witch Trials officially concluded. This is a day of celebration and remembrance for all witches no matter who they are. Of course some of the casualties in the trials were not practicing witches but rather victims of their times, so this is also a time of remembrance for anyone else who may identify with the victims. Today I am paying my respects to the individuals slain or convicted as a result of the Salem Witch Trials, whom are as follows; Elizabeth Howe (14 May 1637 - July 19, 1692), Martha Corey and her husband Giles (1620 - September 22, 1692), Rebecca Nurse (21 February 1621 - 19 July 1692), and her sister Mary Eastey (August 24, 1634 – September 22, 1692), Susannah Martin (30 September, 1621 - 19 July, 1692), Bridget Bishop (1632 - 10 June 1692), Martha Allen (1650 - 19 August 1692), Sarah Wildes (March 16, 1627 – July 29, 1692), Elizabeth Bassett (whose execution was actually postponed due to her being pregnant, while her husband, John Proctor who had caused her to be convicted in the first place, was hanged with the others), Abigail Hobbs (Arrested April 18, 1692, aged around 14), Mary Parker (1637 - September 22, 1692), Alice Parker (Executed: September 22, 1692), Anna Pudeater (November 13, 1621 – September 22, 1692), John Willard (1657 – August 19, 1692), Wilmot Redd (early 17th century – September 22, 1692), the first to be accused Sarah Osborne (1643 – May 10, 1692), and last but certainly not least, the equally as brave and beautiful (and marginally less privileged in their time) likes of Margaret Scott (March 28, 1616 – October 2, 1692), Tituba (an absolute bad-ass and one of the only accused to confess to witchcraft and survive!), and lastly, one of the major inspirations for my recent book "Welcome to the Coven" , the wonderful Sarah Good (July 21, 1653 -July 19, 1692).

While I mourn these brave women and men who came before me, I am grateful and proud of how far society has come since then and while I face hardships even today, I know my divine deities and the spirits of our past are watching over us always, equally as proud of us every time we are true to ourselves without the fear of being hanged or burnt at the stake.
