Nicki trying to gently criticise JEV’s teammate dynamics in front of Andre knowing full well he was about to fight her tooth and nail to defend his man, him doing exactly that going in to full protective mode prompting Nicki to laugh and point out well you guys have your whole special relationship so that’s something else entirely and them both just shrugging and saying ‘jeandre’ and not elaborating further, all while the new ds Penske tp watches on awkwardly, we are SO back in camp jeandre folks, and jevs new boss just got to first hand witness it, beautiful

These new rookies will never know the true terror an fe debut should be, for example, Jake Hughes, that post race drivers in a box moment where he looks absolutely traumatised by what happened to him in the race (Andre) and the elders of fe just laughed and went ‘welcome to formula e’ will live rent free in my head forever and it’s tragic that we no longer can traumatise the newbies in quite the same way

I truly believe that Sam Bird is genuinely the best teammate/mentor a rookie like Taylor could've hoped for (yes I'm aware Taylor isn't a full rookie). Sam was defending his ass off to keep Norman and the Mahindras behind him, and consistently relaying messages through his engineer to pass along to Taylor's side of the garage to help him possibly go for the win.
And if you listen to radios from seasons past, Sam is the sort of driver who's always the first to own up to a mistake if he knew he was the one who made it, not one to deflect or shift blame. He's just as aggressive a driver as any of them, but he's always genuinely supportive of his teammates and wants them to do well.

your force to break - charles leclerc
I’ve been long meaning to make a board about charles, ferrari, and the catholic guilt that comes with being a driver for them. This is mysecret santa gift for @heck in the @motorsportsecretsanta2024. I hope you like it, and Merry Christmas! 🎄🎁❤

I know I’m not saying anything my yuki moots haven’t said, but I genuinely don’t think people are grasping the fact that yuki’s seat prospects are in fact extremely limited.
yuki’s contract ends in ‘25, and their next great big hope (arvid lindblad) is going into f2 next year. now always assume that drivers in a pipeline can flop, but of the drivers that will be lined up in cashgrab for 2025 (yuki and isack hadjar), the one at risk of losing his seat no matter how he performs is yuki because he will be out of contract. red bull knew this when they swooped in to activate the ‘25 option on yuki to halt discussions with both haas and alpine. in fact, the team principal of haas has said they were really interested in yuki, but the unsaid part there is that an option means they would’ve had to buy yuki out to retain him for ‘25.
based on pierre’s buyout to go to alpine (reported to be 10M), we can assume that buyout is quite hefty because red bull wants their money one way or another.
so yuki’s racing for cashgrab in ‘25 and needs to find a seat elsewhere on the grid. let’s look at the options:
red bull:
max contracted through 2028. maybe he pulls a nico, but in the interim expect him to still be around. and even then, red bull has proven they don’t want yuki in that top team.
liam who’s probably on a 5-year option contract similar to what yuki is finishing up. makes his situation less stable and more susceptible to losing his seat, but, again, red bull don’t want yuki so don’t be shocked if liam flops and they put isack in there instead.
mercedes:
george until the end of 2025, but expect him to be extended
kimi who’s likely on a 1+1 in case he totally bombs, but if he totally bombs, maybe that’s a shot for yuki. maybe. doubtful. don’t hold a breath.
ferrari:
I mean… both are contracted for like an eternity lol so no
mclaren:
lando also contracted for eternity
piastri through 2026. maaaaybe we’ll finally have a discussion about his performance, but the horror of even uttering that phrase anywhere online because “he’s just in his second year!!!!” (those same people turn around and continue to clown pierre for his rbr stint though so lol and lmao)
aston:
alonso is contracted through 2026. I think he’s hanging around to see how aston shapes up for ‘26
lance do I even have to say it? unless he says “no dad this is your dream!” and stomps off, consider this seat locked in perpetuity.
alpine:
pierre’s contracted on a vague multi-year contract, but also he’s now lead driver at a french team and has somehow wooed briatore of all people, so like he ain’t giving that up to go elsewhere
jack’s in the shakiest of positions. there’s been talks he’s on a race-to-race contract and murmuring that briatore doesn’t have a lot of faith there. maaaaybe that’s a seat yuki could angle to swipe, but it depends on a lot of factors. plus, despite what yukinators proclaim, yuki didn’t beat pierre, and his stock would depend on whether he could beat pierre this time around. can’t be choosy though so. also like paul aron is ollie oakes’ project so that’s potentially someone he’d be fighting for that seat.
haas
ocon is contracted through 2026. his performance end of ‘24 and whatever motives drove that dip in performance aside, I don’t think he’s going to be ricciardoing it at haas. maybe they realize they actually don’t like french people or something I dunno
bearman I will assume is on a 1+1 of some kind, so, again, I guess if he completely bombs that could be a seat for yuki. he’s had more time than ocon in the haas considering the practice sessions and races he did for them, so like theoretically he should have some amount of an upper hand on ocon… or he’ll completely bomb with even less grace than other rookies will get and bing bang bong yuki to haas let’s goooo
cashgrab:
yuki’s on the last year of the contract lol maybe he could swing an extension into ‘26 if arvid flops, but like he’s gonna want out of that umbrella himself. he needs to get out of that umbrella if he wants any chance at a long-term career in this sport.
isack is likely on an option contract that’s standard in red bull. he’ll likely be hanging around unless he flops. he’s helmut’s project so if liam flops, expect isack to get promoted way too early so we can do 2019 the electric boogaloo edition.
williams:
albon is contracted through 2026, and he’s considered to be the lead driver currently, but there’s probably conversations to be had based on his performance this year plus how he stacks up with carlos. and if he flops, they’ve got franco or maybe a williams driver in f2.
carlos is contracted through 2026, and I would expect him to be solid in that seat. hate the man, but like he can perform… I guess.
sauber/audi:
nico is contracted for multiple years as well. he’s also walking in to a team switching over to a german factory team and is a german driver. nationality bias. he’s older, so like the usual cognitive decline question will linger, but like he’s been performing pretty well all things considered.
gabriel bortoleto will probably be on a 1+1, and like maybe he’ll flop but probs not since he’s alonso’s protégé.
cadillac:
two seats are open here, and it’s probably his best shot at a seat for 2026.
it sounds like checo is retiring fully from f1, so it remains to be seen if he’ll try for a seat here.
everyone says herta but he’s got a hard time ahead of him securing a SL. he’ll drop to like 30/31 points as of January 1 with the only likely shot at securing the last 9/10 points being with indycar.
of the Indycar drivers, pato has the SL, but he’s currently contracted for arrow mclaren through like ‘27. mclaren and andretti are friendly, but I don’t know how friendly zak would be letting pato go when pato’s I think the strongest mclaren driver in indycar.
there might also be some f2 drivers who’ll try to score this seat… this is wide open from my perspective with a lot of drivers clamoring for a seat. yuki will need to pull incredible memorable drives week in and out (he did well this season… but cashgrab’s car also backslid. it’s harder to get killer drives noticed if you’re doing it outside the points. maybe the car will be better next year?)
so of the potential seats, yuki’s essentially got to hope drivers flop left and right, and even then we need to understand that even if a driver flops they may still go in other directions. his best shot is one of cadillac’s open seats, but there’s probably some stiff competition there that he’ll need to beat out for the shot there.
at the end of the day, the fault for this entire situation remains on red bull’s plate. they knew, and they’ve always known, that they weren’t promoting yuki. but rather than let him go, they did the same damn thing they did to pierre and other drivers before them: they exercised options to lock them up and cut off discussions because they’d rather hoard talent to the detriment of that driver’s long-term career in this sport than recognize that they have plenty of other drivers to put in there to test. because of this, there is an honest to god possibility that yuki enters ‘26 without a seat not because he flopped but because he was too good for red bull to cut loose but also somehow not good enough for a chance in that top team. and that’s the frustrating reality.

Just to add - Lewis was also underpreforming (and was behind George for most of the season) but becasue he's a seven time WDC and British no one was talking about him. I get that with the move to Ferrari and the car being shit there was not much he could do BUT the situation was the same for Sergio - the car was undriveable most of the year, he was behind his teammate in points. Don't get me wrong, I love Lewis and would never wish for the press to hunt him like they do Sergio (he had his fair share of that already) but it's funny how the perspective shifts, huh? Sergio has a slump in form - he's a bad driver Charles has a slump in form - it's the team Sergio is angry at the team - he just tries to cover up his mistakes Max is angry at the team - he is 'iconic' and has the right to demand the best Sergio tries to protect his seat - his greedy and should 'go peacefully' Valtteri tries to protect his seat - they should give it to him, the team is awful Sergio is (possibly) fired - good, he deserved it Daniel was fired - oh no, poor baby the team treated him so badly Sergio and his fans get hate - it's all right because they are bad people and deserve it Lando and his fans get hate - people are just cruel and don't understand Sergio talks about mental health - he is mocked and ridiculed Other drivers talk about mental health - they are admired for being brave I can go on and not only about Sergio but I don't want to make myself more mad;
this is what I rant about daily it’s okay
He’s being condemned because he’s not this cute driver that they can infantilized and he’s not up to westerners beauty standards so people rarely defend him
