Peacocks fan out their feathers like this as part of a courtship ritual to attact a mate. Males have the long train of vibrant feathers, while females have shorter, more dull colored feathers. 🦚

❓Why do snakes stick out their tongues❓
Snakes have a something called a Jacobson’s Organ, which is located on the roof of their mouth. The Jacobson’s Organ carries receptors for collecting chemicals from the air and ground, helping the snake sense what is around them. Flicking their tongue brings in information used to decipher the world around them, what is prey, and what is not. 🐍💚

sell second hand fashion for a few reasons. I do it because it’s better for the environment, the funds go towards my rescue animals and towards my future rescue facility. Overall, the actions and funds from my sustainable fashion store go towards helping animals and the earth in the short term and long term. #sustainablefashion 🐍🦎🐢🐷🐯🕊🐾

My beautiful red tail boa, Persephone getting ready for a healthy shed! Right before a snake sheds, their skin loosens and fluid from their lymphatic system builds up between the old and new layers of skin. This fluid causes the eyes of snakes to turn a cloudy blue/grey color and lessens their ability to see. Once the snake sheds their skin, eye caps and all, their eyes and skin look beautiful & vibrant again 💕
