“CLANNAD: After Story” Review (SPOILERS + TW)

I watched it a couple of weeks ago and HOLY FUCKING SHIT DUDE. I FUCKING CRIED 6 OR MORE TIMES. The sequel got me all kinds of depressed.

This Anime will always be my favorite romance drama, I just can’t help but adore Nagisa and Tomoya’s relationship; in all honesty, I’m extremely envious about their beautiful relationship. I’m glad Nagisa didn’t actually die from having Ushio, I mean holy shit that was just awful seeing what Tomoya thought would happen. I can’t even begin to comprehend it. Tomoya just loves Nagisa so much, it definitely shows just by the way he looks at her.

When I was watching Tomoya’s daydream about the aftermath of Ushio’s birth and Nagisa’s death, I was so fucking heartbroken. He couldn’t even stand to be in the same room with his daughter, she looked exactly like Nagisa. Ushio didn’t really know her dad, but she really wanted to go on a trip with him. He may have been a little bitch at first, but she still wanted to be with him. Ushio even looked overjoyed when Tomoya bought her that little robot toy! 

After Tomoya spoke with his grandma and found Ushio looking for the robot she lost previously, they both emotionally bonded and he profusely began to apologize to her because of how much of a shitty dad he was. That fucked me up too, I mean it’s not everyday a little kid gets to connect to their stranger parent like that!

Ushio brought up Nagisa every now and then, which also tore up my little bitchass heart. Again Tomoya was a cold hearted bastard so he shut her question down. Apparently no one could bear to tell Ushio about Nagisa, which is understandable, it’s hard talking about a late loved one. But after that connection in the field, Tomoya grew comfortable with Ushio and told her all about how great Nagisa was. 

When all of that ceased when Ushio fell into snow with Tomoya, it surprised me by the scene of Nagisa giving birth to Ushio again. At first I was like, “Wait wtf just happened-” then I realized it was all of Tomoya’s made-up horrible situation. Now that pissed me off. I THOUGHT NAGISA ACTUALLY FUCKING DIED BUT THEN IT’S ALL SUNSHINE AND RAINBOWS AGAIN. I’m glad all of that was just a terrible little daydream, otherwise I would’ve had a mental breakdown and killed myself. But hey, at least I won’t die a virgin because THIS DUMBASS SHOW FUCKED ME UP.

Annie Leonhart - Anime VS Manga

I think Annie is heavily overlooked because of the Anime and those who are Anime only. The Anime completely bashed her character by never showing her true feelings with her facial expressions like she does in the manga. Annie obviously hates the fact that she has to kill innocent people just because her country (Marley) is still resentful towards them over something that happened hundreds of years ago.

Yes it was a shame that some races went extinct because of the titans, but that doesn’t mean their descendants are exactly like them in any way, shape or form. Yes Annie killed people, which she knew was wrong but had to follow orders or she’d be killed along with her father back in Libero. I mean, think about it! An entire fucking country is willing to kill a race of people just because they couldn’t or refused to follow orders. 

Wouldn’t you do anything to see a loved one again? Even at such a young age, Annie knew that everything Marley feed to her was bullshit but she had to do whatever it took to keep herself and her father safe so it’s natural for someone to do whatever it is for someone they love.

This is why I respect Annie. She sacrificed so much just for her father, even if she resented him for a time. I’ll tell you what, love knows no bounds.
