This dog came from the optimism of a warm spring day contrasted with they reality of how a cone of ice cream will melt on that same day. To put myriad emotions and complex philosophical questions of commitment and love in one song seemed dangerous, as it may have been too much for the average listener to 'get'. Listeners should by process of osmosis understand that while ephemeral, these fleeting days life on forever in the forms of photographs and court documents. I'm kinda hungry. Check your privilege.
