so we finally have Sunshine where i live after Weeks of cold rainy days.

so

when we moved in here, we had this scraggly overgrown bush out back, first summer in the place, it blooms.  tiny quarter sized yellow roses.

the next year, in early spring, we cut it back to about knee high, then i spent the winter keeping eggshells from all baking and breakfast cooking.  ground them up with the blender, then come spring this year i scattered about 5 pounds of powdered eggshells over the ground the bush is growing in.

then came over a month of heavy cold rain.

this is what we have now:

the bush is as tall as i am, and measures about 8 feet by 15 feet.  the flowers are bigger than my palm, and only about 1/2 the buds are open.

i hope i get a lot of rose-hips later on.

Quick Bread Recipe

ok my peeps, this is The best ‘quick’ bread recipe i’ve found to date

it’s 6 ingredients, and you can add all kinds of stuff to it to get different kinds of breads: sweet, savory, meat, fruit, ect

what you need:

1 medium sized mixing bowl

measuring cups and measuring spoons

a fork

a spoon

muffin tin (12 slot)

ingredients:

2 cups flour

2 Tablespoons sugar

1 Tablespoon baking powder 

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup Unsalted butter-melted

1 cup milk (whole is best, but 2% works fine)

Directions!

pre-heat oven to 450^F

grease muffin tin with butter or cooking spray

mix the flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar together.  

if you are making other kinds of biscuits now is when you add in the extras!

mix in Melted butter until it is a lumpy mess

stir in milk

it will Still be a lumpy mess, don’t worry about it.

spoon drop into 12 muffin tin slots and pop into the oven for 10-12 min (12 min at high elevation)

slip the Corner of a spatula (not the kind for turning food in a pan) into the corner of the muffin tin and slide it around the edge to loosen the bread for easy removal.

Fast teleport for Elite Clues

you will also most likely need a light source. I rec the seers headband if you have it

because of the compas arrow clues the teleport items you will need could be Very wide spread.  at the same time, only a few you Absolutly should have.  start with atleast 2 portable fairy rings if you can make them.

in 25 elite clues I used the following:

portable Fairy Ring  - (18 uses)

Ring of Kinship - (9 uses)

Enchanted lyre - (4 uses)

slayer ring - (4 uese) for quick access to the Frem Slayer Dungeon.

ectophile - (4 uses)  to access Port Phas and go to mos les harmless, this is Optional as you can also get there through fairy rings, although you will need to repair the Bridges from the fairy ring to Mos Les Harmles

Slayer Cape - (3 uses)  for fairy city of zanaris, fairy rings also work

Tirannawn quiver - (3 uses) for teleporting to places around the Elf Forest.  also useful for not triggering traps.

Dragonkin tele tablet - (2 uses)  1k dunge tokens each and they do stack

Draken's medallion - (2 uses)

Ring of Wealth/fortune/luck of the dwarves - (2 uses) row and rof for ge teleport then north to Trap Door to Dwarf city.  Lotd for Direct teleport there.

Travelers necklace - (2 uses)

Pharoe's scepter - (1 use)

desert amulet - (1 use) notmally this one gets used a Lot more.

enlightened amulet (enchanted topaz/silver ammy)  1

Digsite Pendant - (1 use)

Amulet of Glory - (1 use)

Fast teleport items for Hard Clues

HELPFUL TIP!  this is where combat against double agents and wizards starts, i highly rec you drag your weapon to the action bar so you can fast re-equip when doing emotes!

Also i Highly recommend that you take to time to make Vis Wax to charge fast loadstone teleport!  1 wax = 10 teleport

Amulet of Glory (7) -enchanted d'stone ammy-requires Hero's quest to recharge

Games Necklace  (6) -enchanted sapphire necklace

Traveler's Necklace  (1) -enchanted jade and silver necklace

Skills Necklace  (10) -enchanted d'stone necklace charged at legend's guild or fountain in prif-requires legends quest to recharge

Digsite Pendant  (2) -enchanted ruby necklace-requires curses unlocked to tele to exam center

Enlightenment Amulet  (2) -enchented topaz and silver ammy-is an alternate to Bandit Camp if you haven't unlocked that loadstone

Draken's Medallion  (2) -requires partial completion of the Vampire quest chain-faster way to get to south part of the swamp

Slayer ring  (4)

Ring of Wealth (or fortune, or luck of the dawrves)  (2) -if going to the dwarven city and you don't have LotD, you can tele to GE and go to the trap door in the north west corner.

Ring of Dueling  (5) -enchanted emerald ring

Fairy Ring (20) -portable fairy rings are an invention item.  if you don't have them you can tele to yanell and run north to a ring or go to Amlodd in Prif and take that ring

Pharoe's Scepter (3)

Wicked hood  (9)

Spirit tree network  (5) -Tree Re-Rooter is an invention item that gives direct access much the same way portable fairy rings do.  if you don't have these, ring of dueling to "mobelising armies" old site and access there

Tirannwn quiver  (7) -required partial completion of the Tirannwn achievements. i rec getting to at least tier 3

Slayer cape  (7) -shilo village can alternately be accessed with Karmaja gloves tier 3 or by taking a spirit tree to brimhaven and taking the cart for 10 coins

Fremennik Sea Boots tier 3 and/or enchanted Lyer (3)

Gnome glider network  (7) -tele to al k and take the glider there.  if you have u have unlocked the gnome glider pilot in the Arc you can direct tele from there.  other wise you need to go to the Gnome Tree and travel from there

Home teleport tablets (3) -after Love Story with the ability to Modify them to various home porthole locations And trollhime.

Evil Dave's Spellbook  (13) -this uses modified teleport tablets (not home) that can be stored in the book (max of 1k each)

Juju teleport spiritbag  (2) -these do not stack, but are the fastest way to the Herblore Habitat.  tele to Tav, and buy them from the druid lady being followed by a lizard.

Ardy cape  (1) -tire 3 of 4 is preferable for this cape which is unlocked from the ardy achievement tasks

Dungeoneering cape  (1) -if you don't have this one, you will have to take a ship to braindeath island and pass the zombie (a bucket of water may be needed)

Ring of Kinship -didn't use this time, but it Is something that gets used for hards.

Meat Loaf and Mashed Potatoes

Instant Pot Meat Loaf and Mashed Potatoes

In bottom of Instant Pot place:

3 Pounds potatoes, peeled and quartered

5 Garlic Cloves

3/4 Cup chicken stock

Next

1 1/2 - 2 pounds ground beef (87% lean is best)

1 small Onion (quartered and run through a food processor)

1 Cup Panko crumbs  (better texture and flavor than bread crumbs)

2 teaspoons Salt

2 teaspoons Pepper

2 teaspoons Oregano

2 teaspoons Paprika

1/2 Cup Sour Cream

2 Tablespoon Butter

2 Tablespoons Ketchup

2 Tablespoons Bar-B-Que sauce

2 Eggs beaten

Mix well and place in a 6 inch Bunt pan, cover with foil. Place directly on top of potatoes.  Cook on High for 35 minutes.  Quick release steam.

Pre Heat oven 400^

Mix

1/3 Cup Ketchup

1/4 Cup Bar-B-Que sauce

2 Tablespoons Honey Mustard

1 teaspoon Worchestershire sauce

2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar

Remove meat loaf from pan, place on flat sheet and coat with glazing.  Bake for 10 minutes.

Add to potatoes in pot:

4 Tablespoons Butter

1/2 Cup Sour Cream

1 teaspoon Salt (leave out if using chicken Boulion rather than stock)

1/4 teaspoon Italian Seasoning

Mash together

Serve potatoes in the well of the Meat loaf

Slow Cooker Stroganoff

What you need!

2 Tablespoons all purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon paprika

1 3/4 - 2 pounds beef stake (chuck or similar)

1 can (10 3/4 oz) cream of mushroom soup (condensed)

1/2 cup water

1 package Liptons dry onion and mushroom soup mix

2 cans (4 oz each) sliced mushrooms drained

1/2 cup sour cream

1 Tablespoon freshly minced parsley

How to make it!

in a slow cooker mix flour, garlic powder, pepper, and paprika

trim off fat and slice stake into 1 1/2 inch long x 1/2 inch wide strips

toss in flour/spice mix in slow cooker until well coated

add condensed mushroom soup, dry soup, water to cooker and stir well

cover and cook:

High: 3 - 3 1/2 hours

Low: 6 - 7 hours

Stir in Mushrooms, sour cream, and parsley, cover and cook on high for 10-15 min, serve over egg noodles or rice

Fruit of the Harvest!

ok, so it’s getting to be close to that time of the year.

Cherry, peach, and apple harvest times are edging closer and I cannot wait!

Sweet Cherries - End of June thru End of July   Going to hit that particular orchard around mid July and load up.  I suck at making pies but i make an awesome cobbler.  so i’m going to work out a variant for cherries.  I wish i had a food dehydrator.

Peaches - The Month Of August   we ran out of peaches for cobbler in early spring, sad to say.  This year i want twice the amount we had last year.  My peach cobbler recipe was a Big hit with everyone over Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Also i promised my new neighbors one once they’re finished building their house and move in :P

and dear God, the Palisade Peach Festival is  August 16 – 19, 2018.  i hope i can go, they have so much good stuff.  and have you Ever Seen a Palisade Peach? bigger than my 2 fists placed against each other. I kid you not!

and the Applefest will be happening just up the road from me in early October!  That means i can load up and make some of my Apple Bread!

i am going to need So Many food saver vacuum bags for this.

Classic Baked Penne

8 oz Penna Rigate (1/2 a package)

3/4 cup chopped onion

2 large garlic cloves minced

1/2 pound ground beef

1 jar mushroom flavored pasta sauce (or add 1 can mushrooms)

6-8 slices provolone cheese

3/4 cup sour cream

4 oz shredded cheese (Italian blend or mozzarella)

preheat oven to 350^

cook noodles per package directions (salt the water to improve flavor).  Brown hamburger, onion, and garlic together.  drain. add sauce.  drain and add noodles to sauce mix.  

layer 1/2 pasta mix into a 9x13 baking dish.  layer provolone cheese, then sour cream.  add remaining pasta sauce.  sprinkle shredded cheese over top.  cover with foil.

bake 25 minutes, remove foil, bake 10 more minutes.

ok, so...

how to make an Amazing chocolate cherry cake.

step 1- buy a chocolate fudge cake mix ($1-$1.50 usually) and a can of cherry pie filling ($2.50 on average where i live)

step 2- place the eggs the recipe on the box into a bowl of warm water for about 5 minutes so the eggs are not ice cold.

step 3- start oven preheating

step 4- cut 1/4 a cup of water from the recipe.  if it calls for 1 1/2 cup water, only use 1 1/4.  

step 5- use room temp water! not cold.  all ingredients should be about the same temp rage.  trust me this is actually important for baking a cake!

step 6- mix water, eggs, oil, and cake mix as directed 

step 7- grease and sprinkle flour on cake pan Even If Non-Stick!

step 8- mix in 1/2 the can of cherry pie filling into the batter.

step 9- put in cake pan and bake according to directions

step 10- let cool COMPLETELY before removing from pan.  i know it’s so tempting to turn it out right away, but i’m telling you the cake will come out messed up if you don’t wait.

step 11- if desired frost with a sugar glaze type frosting (powdered sugar+butter+little milk+vanilla extract)

it turns out So nice, and So tasty.  bakeries sell cakes like this for $6-$8 around here, and 1 can of pie filling does 2 cake mixes so save that second half in a bowl or something.  hell i put it in a ziplock bag and Freeze it for next time.

crystal siphons are back up to over 1.1 mill according to clan member Blast, and on another update note!

with the introduction of Personal Slayer Dungeons in the game, a much faster and cost efficient way to get crystal teleport seeds for crystal parts is this:

get 5 “ushabti” which are used for collecting souls of monsters and hit the elf camp in the North part of the Elvin Lands rather than the elf village of “Lletya”

camp there until you have filled all 5 vessels with elf souls.  you won’t get any tele seeds for these kills.

go to the Sunken Pyramid (NOTE! if you have turned in 50 or more monster souls your Slayer Codex allows for unlimited tele to the entrance)

enter in Building Mode!

right click and Use the vessels on the empty circles in one of the rooms

this way your slayer dunge will have Unlimited elf spawns in that room that Will drop tele seeds.

i also Highly recommend that if you Can, use a pack yak summon With scrolls to send the tele seeds to your bank.  this method is Much cheaper than magic note paper.

also you can now use Agro Potions to mostly afk the combat letting you just focus on picking up the seed drops!

The crystal teleport seed

see that little red box i drew on this screen snap?  the little thing in it?

that my friends is the Crystal Teleport Seed

paradoxically it has no gp value in the Grand Exchange, but is one of the most valuable items in game.

how you ask?

the Invention skill my dear readers.

the invention crafted item Crystal tool siphon (unlocked at level 54) sells for up to 1 million gp in the Grand Exchange.  to make it you need the following components acquired by Disassembling items in game

Clear parts (common) - gained from disassembling glass items

Crystal Parts (common) - gained from disassembling crystal weapons, armor, tools, charged crystal teleport seeds, and harmonic dust

Imbuing Components (uncommon) -gained from disassembling battlestaves and wands

clear parts are slow and tedious.  there is a buy limit on the glass lens for bullseye lanterns of 100 every 4 hours.  and “empty lightbulbs” (which give 2x the rate of clear parts) are nontradeable and must be made yourself.  so very slow getting them.

imbuing components… well if you buy and disassemble battlestaves you can recoup the cost by making Augmenters from the Powerful components they also give upon disassembling, but the initial cost is High.

crystal parts though… crystal tools, weapons, and armor are very expensive.  And playing the harps in Prifddinas is very slow.  You’re lucky to get enough dust for 10 crystal parts in an hour.

but Crystal teleport seeds…. ho boy.

during the quest chain to unlock Prif you get access to a little village called Lletya. there you find some Elves that can be killed.  they tend to be weak to Crushing melee damage or fire magic damage, but really if you have high combat levels you can use any form of combat on them.  they drop Crystal Teleport seeds very often.

set up and kill as many as you like.  there is a bank near bye so no worries about picking up drops!

once you have a large amount of the tele seeds, charge them up.  Talk to the roving elves or if you have Prif access, go to the Ithell district and charge them there.  after the first 5 or so charged seeds the cost of charging them drops to 400 gp each which is practically nothing as the other items the elves drop can easily make up the amount.

then just bank them all, and pull them out as a Noted stack item.  then disassemble them all.

before long you will have enough crystal parts for 10 or more crystal siphons which sell for 800k - 1.1 million each in the ge. (as of 10/25/2017 the ge price was 1 million each)

Spring Cleaner! a how to

ho-kay.  I’ve gotten asked about this in game by members of my clan, so here’s where I’m gonna post the basics.

step 1 check your bank for it and get it out!

you’ll get this pop-up window:

now mine is fully upgraded and if you look at the top, i have over 7,000 springs charging it.  

now you get to decide if you want to dismantle drops for resources, or go for research for bonus xp, with this drop menu.  

It is Highly recommended that you go for resources and it is a huge loss of gp to go for the bonus xp.  seriously it’s cheaper to sell the resources and buy what you want to skill with.

next if you have springs or tight springs you can add or pay toward the upgrade directly.

springs that are used for dismantling or research also pay for upgrading the cleaner.  it just comes down to how fast you want it upgraded all the way and if you can make tight springs with Invention skill of afford to buy springs in the GE

Now you can click Configuration to choose what type of item you want the Spring Cleaner to consume.

now keep in mind!  the breakdown of items with the spring cleaner is Not 100%!

some times it won’t work and you’ll have an item drop so for some things runes for Hi Alc are recommended.

also 1 spring is used for each non-noted item so for bar dropping dragons? 1 spring per bar is used.

it is a good idea to use spring cleaners for mainly Rune armor and weapons for the biggest bang for your buck.  but if you’re like me and make tight springs? meh i do most things

if you’re curious about What Items the cleaner will get you, hover your mouse over the category and something like this will show on the bottom of the pop-up window

and remember, check the Runescape Wiki for what monsters drop what item!  that way you know where to focus on if you want specific resources from your cleaner!

Game time and Slayer counter!

okay, this one comes up every so often, so here’s a how to for getting the game time clock and the slayer counter on your screen! 

NOTE! this guide s for RS3

step 1, find this on your screen!

click here on the pop-up!

the drop menu here is to put the slayer counter on your screen

also make sure this box is Un Checked so you can Move the counter and clock!

once they are on your screen you just drag them with your mouse to where you want them.

If you can’t find them, try re-sizing your mini map, sometimes they get lost in that

i got a "mystic cloth" from catching a Magpie Impling. What's it used for?

usable starting at crafting level 51, you can use it to Make level 50 magic equipment called Mystic Robes (blue set) as well as the Wand, Orb, and Shield
