could you talk more about the difference between a zodiac's special power and magic power? or there's no difference at all?

of course! there is a difference. magic gives zodiacs the ability to affect change by supernatural means. magic allows them to harness and wield energies found in nature so they can perform spells and rituals. their special power originates from their magic and can be considered a manifestation of it, gifting them with abilities unique from other zodiac signs. the reason their power is always related to the element, season or traits associated with their zodiac sign is that it originates from their magic; the zodiacs' magic, as the originals had discovered, were tied to the stars and the movement of the earth in the universe. hopefully, this cleared things up!

how many years does one typically spend in the academy until they graduate?

it's up to the student! there's no set number of years as some master their skills sooner or later than others. ballpark average would be around five to ten years, depending on their progress. like a normal school, they'll go through a final test of sorts before leaving. this test will determine their mastery level and if they're ready to return to the real world.

Is it possible for a zodiac to have previous (obviously incomplete) learning experience at a different academy before attending the seoul academy?

that's very possible! they could have even practiced a different kind of magic at their previous academy and you can get creative with your own lore around that.

i see there are no active clubs currently due to low number of students, but can a muse try and get one running? and if so, would they have a chance to succeed or are clubs just not gonna be a thing? thanks!

for now, clubs are just not a thing in seoul's zodiac academy. fewer zodiacs means fewer students and also fewer faculty members. but if you would really like your muse to get a club running, that would be so lovely! just approach the main blog with the club name and at least 20 words about what the club's about. you'll also have to have at least three other muses signed up.

hi! could you elaborate a bit more on how the magic manifests on our muses? the lore says "during the end of their teenage years", but does it happen like in an outburst of power, is it in a fixed way or can we be creative with it? also, once a muse is revealed to be a zodiac, are they tracked by the school administration and invited to attend the academy or do they have to reach out somehow? thanks!

of course! magic is volatile, almost like it has a life of its own, and manifesting it is a unique process, so you can be creative with it. typically (around 7/10 cases), a zodiac's magic and powers will remain completely dormant until they've come of age. their magic and powers could manifest together, or one could come before the other. either way, in most cases, their magic and powers will become apparent gradually. for example, if their magic manifests first, it could be something as benign as feeling more energetic than usual as their magic begins to siphon energy from nature for their use, or it could be more drastic, such as patches of their skin slowly turning to stone as their magic starts to consume them from the inside out. if their powers come first, they could start inadvertently floating in their sleep if they have the power of flight. however, one big sudden outburst of power is also possible. it's even possible that they had one big outburst of magic and couldn't access their magic for some time afterwards. early encounters with magic, such as a zodiac child with a protective power inexplicably shielded from harm, are commonplace for zodiacs who possess a large amount of magic inside them. on the flip side, some zodiacs who possess less magic than average might manifest their magic later than usual. these are just examples though, you can be creative with the reasons for when and how their magic manifested. the academy regularly sends out teachers and more experienced students to scout for zodiacs in the area. once these scouts find a zodiac, they'll bring them to the academy. however, if a zodiac knows about their zodiac heritage and the existence of academies, they can reach out to someone in the academy after manifesting their magic. thanks for such good questions and i hope they were answered here!

hello there! thanks for such a good question. the general public has no idea about the existence of zodiacs. matters of magic, zodiac signs and astrology are treated exactly as they are in the real world—there are believers, skeptics, and everyone in between. the only humans who truly know about zodiacs are likely those who have or had them in their family, or maybe even a close friend of a zodiac who has seen their powers in action. zodiacs appear randomly and are now very few and far in between, so their existence has become even more concealed from the public. humans who have ancestors or relatives who were zodiacs might not be so surprised when they manifest their magic and powers. but it might come as more of a surprise to someone who has no idea that magic actually exists in the year of our lord 2023.

can we pick a power that isn’t listed? or does it have to be from the list of possible powers? if we can pick are there any limitations or guidelines?

yes you can pick any power for your zodiac! the only guideline is that the power must be in some way related to the element, season or traits associated with their sign. for example, an aries can't have water manipulation as a power because they're a fire sign; a leo can't have ice manipulation as a power because they're a fire sign nor are they associated with the winter season; gemini are typically perceived to be adaptable so they could have the power of environmental adaptation. powers that manipulate time and space are also not allowed, as well as powers that control others’ actions, memories or thoughts.
