Jewish holocaust victims were allowed to be seen as VICTIMS and so they REMIND their children of who and what victimized them. People of African descent are blamed for their own oppression and that blame, and subsequent shame, makes them hide their history from their children unless the oppressor tells the story from his point of view. We are quick to say that "we are our own worst enemy" because people who have been denied the humanity and dignity of identifying their oppressors think they did it to themselves.
