2024 in China is the year of Dragon, and the Dragon Head Raising Festival is a traditional Chinese festival that falls on the second day of the second lunar month. It is also known as the Spring Plowing Festival, the Farming Festival, the Qinglong Festival, and the Spring Dragon Festival.

The name "Dragon Head Raising" comes from the fact that the seven constellations of the Eastern Azure Dragon (苍龙七宿) are said to resemble a dragon. At the beginning of the second lunar month, when the Dipper points to the east, the "Dragon Horn Star" (角宿) rises from the eastern horizon. This is seen as a sign that spring has arrived and that the dragon is waking up from its winter slumber.

In Chinese mythology, the dragon is a powerful and benevolent creature that is associated with water, rain, and fertility. It is also a symbol of the emperor and of good fortune. As a result, the Dragon Head Raising Festival is a time for people to celebrate the coming of spring, to pray for good weather and a bountiful harvest, and to ward off evil spirits.

Inspired by the concept of Dragon Head Raising, I created this music pack by combining traditional Chinese instruments with modern ones, tried blurring some boundaries by breaking those existing "rules" which symbolizing certain kind of unity as well. May there be no discrimination, no prejudice, no labels of East or West, may there be no hunger, no harm, and may there be no war on earth. Also that I hope everyone who sees this would have a brand new start to everything after the pandemic just like dragon raising its head again, to live, to embrace, and to welcome a better life.
