Do you think the fathoms with non-water elements resent the Tidelord for excluding them from his prophecy? Imagine putting your entire life on hold and travelling thousands of miles to a home you've never seen because your god needs you, your efforts finally being rewarded with his voice, only to realize that you can't understand him. That despite your ancestors being born of his magic, despite dedicating your entire life to exploring his ocean, he doesn't consider you worthy of being his kin. He may be your father, but you will never be his child.

Got UTTERLY shafted on my fathoms' color combos but I think they clean up fairly well with the right genes. My wallet is vomiting blood about the male though

The miasma thickens as the spectre nears; this close, you can see the tattered clothes, the hollow skull, and the flesh rotting off slick, black bone. Lone wanderers beware – no other gunslinger, living or dead, is of steadier claw or surer shot. And this one seems in search of one last duel..
11/10 Riot of Rot this year hoho here’s hellwell gunslinger #2076113

Be careful what you wish for, OP. Presenting:
I Got Cursed by Flight Rising at 3am (NOT CLICKBAIT!!)
by Some Loser With Too Much Free Time
(Story under the cut because of how long it is. Mind the tags!)
I know none of you are going to believe me when I tell you this, and that’s fine. I wouldn’t believe me either. But I have to tell SOMEONE, because I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this since it happened, and it’s ruining my life... or at least, what’s left of it.
It all started when I got the notification. I was just clicking around the site and doing my dailies the same way I always do when suddenly a little 1 appeared next to the notification bell. I was excited at first, thinking that maybe one of my auctions had sold. But instead, when I clicked the bell, I saw this.
At first I was scared. What if somebody had hacked an admin account, or worse, my account? But once I calmed down and started thinking rationally, I couldn’t help but get excited. Maybe staff was rolling out a new feature or something, and I had just been invited to test it! I knew that wasn’t very likely and that it was probably just a weird bug or a hacker, but I couldn’t ignore the chance that it was something more. Fortunately it was a Friday, so I finished all of my homework as fast as I could and started brewing some of my mom’s extra caffeinated coffee. It was gonna be a long night.
I was exhausted when 3am finally rolled around, but I wasn’t going to let that stop me. There’s no way I was going to bed without seeing if that alert was real. I swallowed my excitement and my fear, and clicked over to the Coliseum.
The starting menu loaded like normal, so I took a second to fill my team with my strongest dragons. If there really was some kind of special enemy or venue waiting for me, I was going to be prepared. Once I was satisfied with my party I clicked back to the main menu and selected “Monster Battle.”
The venues loaded in like normal, and I felt my heart sink in disappointment. Maybe that alert was just a glitch after all... I sighed and clicked to the second page, hoping against hope that something would be there. That’s when I saw it.
What was with that black square? That definitely wasn’t supposed to be there. At first I assumed it was some kind of visual bug, but when I moused over it, it seemed to be clickable. My heart started to race. Maybe that alert really was from a staff member! Maybe they’re giving me early access to a whole new venue! I only hesitated for a moment before clicking on the mysterious black square.
If only I had known the horrors I was about to face.
The page took a weirdly long time to load. The blue wheel next to my cursor kept spinning and spinning as the minutes passed. It was almost like the site didn’t want to load. I was about to refresh the page when finally the venue’s background appeared.
I was so surprised that I gasped out loud. The new venue was clearly supposed to be inside of Plague’s territory, judging by the flesh-covered ground and the sickly green pustules that pockmarked the landscape. But instead of the fun cartoony style that the rest of the website used, this background was horrifyingly realistic. It was animated too - I could see the veiny tissue coating the earth pulsate rhythmically, as though some massive heart was pounding at it from below, straining to escape.
I was so scared by the nightmarish landscape that it took me a second to realize an enemy had spawned. I’d never seen it before, but the pieces of its body were dreadfully familiar. It looked as though a mad scientist had ripped apart every familiar they could find and sewed the pieces together into a grisly facsimile of a Mirror. Instead of a name, the text above its health bar simply said “Friend”.
I should have closed the tab as soon as that horrible thing loaded. I was so scared that I was shaking in my seat, tremors wracking my hands with so much force that I nearly spilled the last dregs of my coffee onto the computer. Part of my wishes that the tremors had been worse, bad enough to make me pour the steaming liquid all over the keyboard and fry my laptop beyond repair. Maybe if I had, I would have been spared.
Instead I steeled my nerves, set the cup down, and clicked the Fight button. I may have been terrified and confused by the hellish “artwork”, but this was still a new venue. One that only I had access to. If I managed to kill this enemy it might drop itself as a familiar, and then I could sell it on the Auction House for whatever price I desired. It was that blinding greed for pixelated dragon cash that drove me onward as I selected the icon for Eliminate and targeted the monster.
The animation played as usual, with my dragon leaping towards the opponent and the bloody red lines of the Eliminate sweeping down towards its head, only for it to jump out of the way at the last second. I swore under my breath. Of course it dodged. Why can I never land this stupid attack when I need to?
I repeated the process with my second dragon, only for that one to miss as well. This time I swore out loud. That was just my luck, missing two Eliminates in a row. I commanded my third dragon to try it as well and watched in disbelief as the beast leapt out of the way yet again. I’ve played Flight Rising for many years, and I had never seen a single enemy dodge all three of my dragons’ attacks before.
I realized with a sinking feeling that it was Friend’s turn. That feeling quickly changed to horror as the terrifying amalgam jerked out of its static pose, dropping into a predator’s crouch in what had to be the smoothest animation I had ever seen. It was so detailed and fluid that it almost looked real. The venue’s background even reacted to its movements, the fleshy earth squishing and tearing into bloody shreds beneath its claws as it launched itself towards one of my dragons.
Instead of playing a regular attack animation, the thing actually lashed out with a mangled, bony talon, splitting my dragon’s throat into a wide red gash. I could only look on in shock as hyper realistic blood sprayed from the wound, bathing the beast in a fine red mist. Instead of being replaced by the regular “defeated” picture, my dragon collapsed onto his side, jerking weakly for a couple moments before going limp.
I sat there for a few seconds, gaping at the monitor in stunned silence. What was that? Did some kind of hacker put all this in the game? Surely none of it was actually added by staff, right? No, of course not; they knew better than to put gore in their teen-rated browser game, where impressionable young children could see it.
I took a few moments to recover. My dragon remained collapsed on the ground, surrounded by a growing red puddle. “Friend” had returned to its static pose, floating on the other side of the field with its skeletal face twisted into a mocking grin. I felt my fear begin changing into rage. How DARE some filthy hacker add this nightmare venue to my favorite game? Did they think this was funny? Well, I’d show them funny. All I had to do was land a single Eliminate, and their stupid little zombie thing would be history.
I commanded my dragons to attack. They both missed. I hissed through my teeth in frustration. Five missed Eliminates in a row? What are the odds of that?! I sat there stewing in rage as “Friend” jumped towards one of my remaining dragons. This time it lashed out towards her belly, ripping through it in a shower of blood and viscera. Like her teammate she collapsed to the ground, dead.
It was my last dragon’s turn. Maybe my last turn. I chewed my lip as I considered what to do. I could refresh the page now to end the battle, but... well, that felt like giving up. Like letting the hacker win. Besides, losing would only cost my dragons a little bit of energy. Even if the scumbag that set all this up decided to “kill” them for real by deleting them from my lair, it wouldn’t be much of a setback. They all had fairly common gene and color combos, and I had more than enough money to buy replacements.
My mind made up, I ordered my remaining dragon to finish the fight, one way or the other, with an Eliminate.
There was a strange bit of lag after I entered my command. The battle menu was gone, but my dragon was just standing there, not moving. It almost seemed like he was too scared to attack. I shook my head to clear that thought away. What a stupid idea. It’s just a pixel dragon, how could it possibly feel fear?
A few seconds ticked by before whatever was causing the lag cleared up, and my dragon launched himself at the enemy. The bloody lines of the Eliminate plunged towards its skeletal neck like a guillotine.
And then it dodged.
I slammed my fist on the desk. What the hell? Seven in a ROW?! I remember muttering something about the game being bullshit as Friend leapt towards my final dragon. With a few hacking swipes of its mismatched claws, it severed his head from his shoulders.
I sat there glaring at the screen while I waited for the animation to end. Honestly, what had I even expected? Of course my attacks missed. Whoever hacked this dumb thing into the game probably made it invincible. Whatever, at least once the game over screen popped up I could finally go to sleep.
Except it never did.
Instead the monster tossed aside my dragon’s severed head and bent towards the corpse, its skeletal jaw hanging open to reveal rows of crooked yellow teeth. It sank its fangs into the bleeding corpse and tore, ripping off stretches of skin and chunks of meat as it messily devoured its prey. My gaze lingered on its bloody feast for a long moment before my laptop’s screen flickered off.
I was startled at first, but then remembered that I hadn’t plugged it in for a while. It had probably just run out of battery. I was about to go grab the charging cord when it flickered back to life, revealing a single image.
It looked so incredibly realistic that I thought it was a photograph, but it was just a drawing. It had to be a drawing. That’s the only way it made any sense. It was slightly blurry and out of focus, like someone had quickly snapped it using an old cellphone camera. I realized with a start that I recognized the scenery in the background. I saw it every time I walked past the old graveyard near my house. Perfectly centered in the middle of the picture, surrounded by weathered and crumbling headstones, was a plain and unadorned grave. A name was printed at the top of it in bold, blocky letters. My name. And beneath it, two separate dates. One was my birthday.
The other was October 28th, 2022.
I slammed my laptop shut and I haven’t touched it since then. I haven’t signed into Flight Rising either. I never want to see that horrible game again. I know this whole thing was probably just a prank, or a virus that somehow got on my computer. But the 28th is only a week away, and I’m scared.
I can see it in the corner of my eye when I’m alone. The room begins to pulse and throb to the beating of an unseen heart. Skeletal hands grasp and claw at the edges of my vision, only to vanish when I turn and look. And in the dead of night I hear voices, mangled and whistling through the holes in their throats, cursing me for abandoning them, asking me why I let them die, begging me to end the pain.
I’m scared. The 28th is drawing closer. The voices are getting louder. I don’t know what’s going to happen to me.
Like I said, I don’t expect anyone to believe my story. I know I wouldn’t. But if you take anything away from this, if you listen to just a single thing that I say, let it be this:
Do not enter the forbidden venue after 3am.
basically i wanted to make a funny edit of coli enemies based on those AND THEN A SCARY AMALGAMATION OF ENEMIES APPEARED!!!!! creepypastas so BEHOLD. this is friend he has all the 11 elements in his body + the shade dodges all of your attacks can use eliminate and appears only at 3 AM when you click a secret venue next to forbidden portal
