ALL 80 TAROT CARDS ARE COMPLETE! Hallelujah! For those who don't know, I still had to finish 7 cards post-Kickstarter and it's a massive relief to have this stage be complete. Thank you all for waiting so patiently. 💖 I saved the last card for a special person who has been there with me to be a supporter and get this project done. The Page of Swords is clever, loves new ideas and has curiosity to boot — these are a few qualities to best describe Rel. Painting this portrait has come at an interesting time as Aurelien and I have decided to part ways after almost a decade together. So not only is this card closing the chapter on my tarot journey, but it wraps up my life with Rel too. It's been a whirlwind and a pleasure, and I'm excited (plus terrified) of where my next adventure leads me. I'll keep you all posted with the next steps soon! I present to you the 79th card in Zeke’s Arcana! Which means, one more to go - FOREVER! I’ve saved the last two cards for the people who have made the deck happen. This is my ode to my business partner Julian. The Page of Coins sets the stage for potential growth, a trigger to set a plan and to lay out foundations. No better card to represent the journey Jules and I have been on these few years. I’ve placed in a medley of mushrooms because Julian would often start our meetings chatting about the oyster shrooms he’s been growing. But more than that, mushrooms are thrifty creatures. Which is your fav amongst the bunch? ✨ All the Knights in Zeke’s Arcana are done! It’s so exciting seeing sets comes together. The Knights were a lot of fun to make because I got to play with composition — which is my absolute fav part when putting a piece together. In an effort to show more process, behind the scenes moments - something that’s been HIGHLY requested by you! Here’s some clips from a Tarot sketch. Focusing on these cute Hippocampi (today I learned the plural of hippocampus 😂). I wanted them to feel like they’re kind of flustered and really wanted them to be as entangled as possible. This piece turned two recently, and it was a great reminder of how my practise has developed in that time. . I originally had aspirational goals of having the three sisters be a mountain country side, housing a little town and being the guardians of the land. At the time I really didn’t have skills to bring that into the world but I still went ahead and tried my best. I ditched the idea for the most part because my skills weren’t there yet. . Today I think the concept needs some further developing and more lore attached to it. Asking questions of what kind of weather does this town have? How do they sustain the village? When and where is this village placed in history? I’d have to step back and really research some interesting ways of how the human body can morph into landscapes as well. .
