D—> that fact was not lost on me either my dear, that seems almost a different life now, I feel an entirely different person from the sorry fool you saved from repression. If you feel like truly recreating “the vibe” of our first meeting we could do some yoga, it is probably a good idea to stretch before swimming anyways I suppose. I will head down to the garden now and meet you there.
D—> Woops, I’m so e%cited I almost forgot to retrieve swimwear first. See you soon!
D—> Greetings my dear Roxy! I have finally and truly finished the restoration of my hive and I am e%ceptionally pleased with the result. I was hoping perhaps you would allow me to make up for my lack of recent contact with dinner? I would both love to see you and have a chance to show off all my hard work, it feels as if it has been an eternity since I last had you in my arms and I miss you terribly. D—> as soon as possible would work wonderfully for me, I just put dinner on to simmer so you could come right now if you like, we could spend sometime on the beach or in the garden and then come in for dinner and drinks and I can give you the tour after we eat. If you wanted we could even go swimming, I have not been out in the water in ages despite its pro%imity to my hive.
D—> If that sounds agreeable to you of course. Now that I am finished with the task of restoration I have plenty of free time so I available whenever you wish.

((Hey folk, Mun here! I’m gonna pin this post to answer some commonly asked questions about my Muse
Question 1: is he a ghost?
No! Monkquius (as I have taken to calling him to differentiate him from the many Equiui out there) is not a ghost, he escaped death by doomed timeline via a dimension hop, the place he resides in now (the Grand Bazaar) has different rules that allowed him to exist without interfering with the prime timeline.
Question 2: what is the Grand Bazaar?
Inspired by the Bazaar in Deva from the Mythadventure book series it is an infinite market that boasts the broadest selection of items imaginable, the saying goes “if you can’t find it here you haven’t looked long enough”. The Grand Bazaar acts as a sort of “Dimension 0” and it’s pull on things unique or lost sort of “laundered” his groups existence and made them unique entities from their prime timeline counterparts, severing their ties to Homestuck’s paradox space rules and their fate as doomed timeline inhabitants.
Question 3: What’s with the Monk thing and what the balls is Timebet?
Admittedly a terrible pun on my part Timebet is a mountain range that exists as one of few permanent landmarks in the Grand Bazaar and is supposedly the first thing to ever have existed. It is not only as old as all of space time in every dimension but came into being with a massive clock built into it that has been running since time began and it is rumoured that when it finally stops the universe will unravel and time will end. To stop this fate there is an order of monks that have be tending to the clock since the beginning of time who not only keep it in working order but also live inside of it and power it by hand, pushing giant wheels around and around forever until the end of time to keep the hands of the clock moving. Monkquius ended up joining the Monks of the Clock after a significant stint as a Lord of the Bazaar during which he lost all of his close personal relationship and became a person he could no longer live with. His time with the Monks had a profoundly deep impact on Monkquius and he has the eventual goal of becoming a permanently cloistered member but before he can take that next step he feels he must finish his business with the outside world and apologize to all those he has wronged, which is why he is currently away from the Clock.
I hope that is like… illuminating for those of you confused on what the balls is going on in my story. Mostly this account was made for ERPs but the longer I play this Equius muse the more I want him to have an overarching story as well. If you have any questions/want to interact with my Muse feel free to DM me or send me asks, I love to RP :3))

Equius stands on the patio in his garden looking out to sea. A mug of tea steams in his calloused hands and he sighs contently watching the sun set. Above him his castle, finally repaired and refurbished after months of work, looms silently, it’s new windows and scrubbed exterior a testament to the monk’s quiet work ethic. Beside him his green meow-beast, named Cat because he was having a hard time naming her and the common name for the creature sounded name like enough to him, snoozes peacefully on the dark stone of the patio, soaking up the last of the day’s heat before her nightly prowling begins. “At some point I’ll have to leave here again, I have to go looking for her.” Equius says to Cat sombrely. Cat looks up at him curiously, roused from her nap by his comment. “I was a bad Moirail, Cat, I was angry and confused: judgemental, bitter and stifling. She deserved better, I know that now, I understand so much that I didn’t, about the universe and myself.” Cat hops to her feet, padding up beside the troll she purrs, rubbing affectionately against his leg. Equius smiles at her gentle antics but then frowns, leaning over to stroke her head “I need to apologize, but to do that I need to find her and even if she hasn’t hopped dimensions the Bazaar stretches infinitely, I could spend a highblood’s lifetime searching here and I wouldn’t even scratch the surface.” Finished with Equius’ scritches Cat begins to pad off, heading towards the beach to get into some of her nightly mischief. Equius sighs to himself “Perhaps if I feel so overwhelmed by the task it means I am not ready to begin.” He mutters uncertainly, turning to regard the castle looming above him “I spent a lot of sweat repairing this place, I suppose I deserve a break to enjoy it before moving on again…” with that he heaves a deep sigh and finishes his tea, turning back to the transportalizer to head up to his castle. There would be a time for mighty stories of redemption later, for now he would finish healing himself first, and enjoy some well earned rest and relaxation.

D—> for the health of your scaly friends
BEARDED DRAGON CARE IN CAPTIVITY (PET)
Under a read more because this got LONG.
Bearded dragons make great additions to the family if you’re looking for something a little more exotic than a cat or dog.
Contrary to what a lot of people believe bearded dragons (and many other reptiles) are a lot more emotionally and intellectually complex.
Many people think that just because they’re reptiles they’re of a very basic intelligence and won’t be very interactive. If anything the opposite is true, at least in the case of bearded dragons.
Studies have shown that these reptiles are actually fairly intelligent and extremely observant. They’re capable of learning via watching both their own species and other species. In fact they may even be at least as intelligent or MORE than a dog.
Bearded dragons are also pretty interactive and those you buy as pets often enjoy having some physical interaction, being talked to etc.
That said they do have their own unique individual personalities so some may enjoy more than others.
Likewise any new additions or young dragons may be a bit skittish or standoffish at first. This is normal. Like any other new pet just give them some time to adjust to their new surroundings and gradually introduce them to contact, for example beginning by only putting your hand in their enclosure then as they become more comfortable progressing. Don’t force them, let them interact on their own terms and in their own time.
For the best chance at a healthy dragon it’s best to source your reptile from a Licenced breeder rather than a pet store.
I strongly reccomend anyone new to owning reptiles or dragons chooses a dragon no younger than 6 months of age. By this age any genetic issues would be apparent so you’re more likely to get a healthy dragon. At this age they’ll also be able to better handle any beginner mistakes than a younger dragon would be able to.
TYPES:
There’s a number of different bearded dragon types available.
EASTERN BEARDED DRAGON (Pogona barbata): these are mid sized dragons with a slimmer head, often darker coloring bright yellow in the mouth and around the eyes.
CENTRAL BEARDED DRAGON (Pogona vitticeps) the largest naturally occurring bearded dragon species. They have a broader head than Easterns and generally don’t have such bright yellow (though yellow can still be present)
RANKINS DRAGON:
Pretty much Pygmy bearded dragons. These are a smaller species that don’t grow very large but still have big personality.
GERMAN GIANT DRAGON:
These are BIG. Not as big as a monitor lizard but still quite large. Not a naturally occurring species these were bred specifically for size. Apparently they’re quite cuddly.
VARIETIONS:
There is a wide array of colors and patterns available with the most expensive being pure white with black eyes. But don’t worry you can still get a pretty awesome dragon without having to fork over a fortune, there’s plenty of cheaper color and pattern variations available such as the Citrus Tiger morph.
There’s 3 scale variations available too one of which should be avoided at all costs due to being a morally corrupt unethical breed.
STANDARD:
This is your average bearded dragon with full sized rough scales and spikes.
LEATHERBACK:
A varient that was bred to have smaller sized scales resulting in a smoother feel and smaller spikes.
SILKBACK (UNETHICAL):
This varient was unfortunately bred to have NO SCALES. They’re considered unethical because due to their lack of scales and thin skin they have shorter lifespan and poorer quality of life due to having to be kept in a bare tank and not handled. Never buy one of these and if you see someone selling them report them.
HOUSING:
Acquiring the initial setup for a bearded dragon is often the most expensive part of owning one.
You should NEVER house more than one bearded dragon in the same enclosure. These are solitary and often territorial reptiles and by housing more than one together fights, injury and competitiveness over resources are likely.
You need a large glass tank with sturdy doors (either hinges or sliding). The tank should be longer than it is tall for this species and have enough room for them to comfortably travel from one end to the other. The tank should also have ventilation such as a section of wire mesh on one or two sides and the top.
You’ll need specialised lighting. Bearded dragons need both heat AND UVB. I reccomend getting two bulbs, one that provides light and UVB and one ceramic heat emitter bulb. You should avoid heat bulbs that emit color such as the red bulbs of the purple ones. Bearded dragons have a special ‘eye’ on the top of their heads called a third eye or parietal eye. This is pretty much a very basic eye and while it has a retina it doesn’t SEE like a regular eye. Instead this eye picks up on light and shadow and assists them with detecting threats from above (such as the shadow of a bird of prey passing over) but is also thought to help regulate their sleep and wake cycles. Because of this the light emitting heat lamps should be avoided, the emitted light has the potential to disrupt the sleep cycle and in the long term can even damage their eyes.
Flooring/substrate:
A lot of people like to use loose substrate such as sand or dirt but this is pretty contentious and depending on what you use it does have it’s risks.
One thing that is agreed I upon though is that you should NEVER USE CALCIUM SAND. The dust kicked up from it poses a danger to their respiratory system and if ingested could cause potentially fatal blockages.
I personally don’t use loose substrate but if you do I would reccomend using CLEAN childrens play sand and changing it regularly.
Other alternatives I reccomend depend on how bathroom trained your dragon is (I’ll talk about this later in the post).
For a young dragon that poops in its enclosure I reccomend something like slate tile. Not only is this easy to clean but it’ll also soak up heat from the lamps AND provide a hard surface to help maintain their claws.
For a dragon that rarely if ever poops in their enclosure I like to use terrarium carpet. I would liken this to basically marine carpet. A few people don’t like this as they worry about cleanliness (hence why I only reccomend this for dragons that don’t poop in their enclosure).
Decor:
A log ornament is pretty much a must, it’s something they can climb and sit on and depending on how you position it can even use as a ramp. You should also provide a flat surface they can lay on to bask, a hide, some greenery, a backing wallpaper (this helps to reduce stress by providing a more natural feel than a blank wall does), a food dish, some textured items (I definitely reccomend a large plastic barrel cactus) this will help during shedding, a water dish. This should be large enough that the heat doesn’t evaporate the water immediately but shallow enough your dragon can’t dunk their whole head in.
Some people say against providing a water dish arguing that they get enough moisture from their food. This is incorrect and bad keeping. Yes bearded dragons are native to arid environments but arid does NOT mean devoid of water. Like any animal providing a reliable source of water is one of the key NEEDS for captive animals.
Monitoring:
A digital temperature and humidity gauge with a probe you attach inside the tank. Digital gauges are more accurate than analogue ones. I reccomend attaching the probe as close to the basking spot as you can get it.
Ideally you want the daytime temperatures to range between 29°C - 38°C and the humidity should remain fairly low (for example 14%) at night it’s ok for the temperature to drop to around 24° - 26°C
One end of the tank should be cooler than the other end to form a sort of temperature gradient. This allows the dragon to move to a cooler location when they need to.
DIET:
The dietary needs of a bearded dragon differs with the age of the dragon. Any dragon UNDER 1 year old is classed as a juvenile while any dragon 1 year of age or older is classed as an adult.
Juvenile dragons should be fed more insects than greens for example insects 5 days a week and greens 2 days a week.
Adult dragons require more greens than they do insects so for my two adults I feed them 2 days of greens followed by insects on the third day and repeat that cycle.
Safe insects for regular feeding include crickets and wood roaches/dubias. All insects should be sourced from pet stores as live feeders. You should never feed any insects you’ve caught yourself as you don’t know if the wild insect is carrying parasites or disease/pesticides etc.
Other insects you can feed are black soldier fly larvae (great for juveniles as they’re very high in protein), silkworms (high calcium content) or earthworms (as a treat because they’re very fatty)
I’ll link to a chart showing what you can and can’t feed a dragon alongside how to prepare it at the end of this post.
YOU SHOULD NEER FEED YOUR DRAGON ANYTHING LARGER THAN THE SPACE BETWEEN THEIR EYES.
SUPPLEMENTS:
You NEED to provide a calcium supplement. Mostly this will be a powder supplement consisting of Calcium + D3. This supplement should be dusted on the insects you give them.
If your dragon gets a lot of time in unfiltered natural sunlight you could use a calcium supplement without the D3 as they’d be getting the D3 from the sun.
POOP AND TOILET TRAINING:
Bearded dragons are actually pretty good at toilet training. Generally they don’t like to poop where they live so if you let your dragon out of their tank to roam around indoors (supervised) or into an outdoor enclosure they’re often very quickly learn to poop on these outings rather than in their tank. They’ll also usually let you know when they’ve gotta go by tapping on their doors or something similar.
They have a ‘poop dance’. This warns you of imminent poop and consists of the rear legs being spread apart, the base of the tail lifting and the hips wiggling side to side.
Pay attention to the poop. As gross as it is a bearded dragons poop is an important way to monitor their health. A healthy poop should be brown, greenish brown or orange depending on what they’ve eaten recently and should be a solid ‘log’ there should also be a white pellet. This white pellet is the reptile equivalent of urine. A yellow coloration to this pellet can be indicative of dehydration, liver issues or a calcium problem.
The poop shouldn’t smell too bad. If it’s ‘soupy’ and more than enough to quickly clear a room this can be a good indicator your dragon has but parasites (such as an over abundance of coccidia) and will require vet treatment to clear it up.
DENTAL:
Dental is important for reptiles. A bearded dragons side teeth are fused directly to their jawbone rather than sitting in sockets in the bone like our teeth. This means that poor dental hygeine can become a serious problem if left untreated as bacteria spreads from the teeth to the jaw bone and can result in conditions like mouth rot or osteomyelitis (bone infection).
For some basic dental care you can feed former foods on occassion such as diced carrot, this can help to scrape plaque from the teeth as the dragon chews.
BATHING:
It’s a good idea to give your dragon a soak and scrub in some warm water no deeper than their wrists every 8 or so days. This will help keep them clean and in turn help keep their enclosure clean.
VETS:
Make sure you have a QUALIFIED reptile vet nearby and take your dragon to them. Ideally you should only need to take them for an annual general checkup during the time as the seasons start to cool down.
Reptile medicine has come a long way from what it used to be so as long as you’re going to a qualified reptile vet it’s just as safe for your reptile as a vet trip would be for a cat or dog.
ENCLOSURE CLEANING:
Invest in a reptile safe enclosure sanitizer and use this to spray and wipe down the enclosure and decor at least every 2 weeks or more as mess occurs. Change loose substrate regularly to avoid bacteria buildup and vacuum and wash terrarium carpet as needed, change carpet out whenever it starts to get ratty.
KEEP A RECORD:
It’s a great idea to invest in a notebook and draw up a table in which you list the date, what food you gave on the day, what supplements and medicines (with medicine dosage) given and whether they pooped or not. At the end of each month note their length and weight and a short summary of any concerns you have. Take this book with you on every vet visit. Doing this is very helpful to the vets as they can easily see what’s been going on with the reptile and when they had what.
BRUMATION:
This is a state of semi hibernation undergone when the weather cools down. During this time your reptile will stay in the one spot for anywhere from days to weeks either awake or asleep and won’t eat. Continue to provide their water dish and leave them to it. Only keep them awake if they have a health concern that would make brumation risky (for example malnourishment) or if they’re very young.
FEMORAL PORES:
Male bearded dragons have a series of pores along the underside of their thighs. These are called femoral pores and they secrete a waxy substance that contains the dragons individual scent. You need to provide rough surfaces for the dragon to rub these on otherwise the waxy substance can build up and clog these pores which is a condition that can pose a health risk in some cases. If your dragon has these pores clogged give them more regular soaks in warm water and gently scrub the pores with a soft toothbrush. Do not attempt to unclog them yourself, it’s a lot safer for a vet to do so in a sterile environment. The area around these pores is very vascular so there is potential for bleeding to occur.
OTHER:
I definitely reccomend looking into taking a reptile zoology course (there’s some good ones online) if you’re looking for a bit more in depth genera info on reptiles, keeping them and their health.

Standing up with a grin Equius catches her gracefully, quite practiced in receiving tacklepounces form back in the day.
“Roxy my dear, how have you been?! Life has been so dour at times with out you in it.” He purrs, holding her close.
Equius had finished is preparation early and was relaxing on his patio when Roxy arrived. A pot of tea sat steaming beside him with two cups, one sitting expectantly for her use the other in his hand. The floral smell wafted pleasantly and mixed with the salty sea air and lush green scent of his cliff wall gardens to produce uniquely natural aroma he found quite relaxing, perhaps because he only smelt it after a day of work when he came here to mediate. His own appearance was drastically different from the last time Roxy had seen him. His hair had grown longer, his widows peak hanging shaggily to either side of his brow and the rest being pulled back into a short ponytail, black and silky unlike the bristly stubble that had recently adorned his skull. In place of his normal monk outfit he worn a silk robe worked with equine designs, its sleeves only reaching half way down his biceps and a good portion of his chest exposed, his rigid slim physique leaving it to hang off his defined muscles and flutter slightly in the breeze. The robe ended just above his knee and he sat with his leg crossed and a book in hand as he lounged in preparation for his his guest’s arrival, keeping the corner of his eye on the transportalizer in his pagoda.

M!A: You are now a werecreature of your own choice for a week, or however long the mun would like.
D—> oh my, what an interesting thought!
Immediately Equius began to change. With creeping speed blood turned to oil, skin to steel, brains to chips and wires. Equius is now a WereRobot! If he grows too bored and monotonous he turns into a soulless automaton until he can be shocked back to flesh and blood via excitement and passion.
Excited by his sudden changes he reverts to normal form, looking curiously over his hands.
D—> fascinating!
