Wild concept that shouldn’t be wild and the coldest take ever: disabled adults are *adults* and not just children trapped in adult bodies
Disabled adults have sex
Disabled adults do drugs
Disabled adults curse
Disabled adults get piercings and tattoos
Disabled adults can make adult decisions and act and behave like adults because we are adults
It’s just so weird for people to constantly infantilize me all because of my mobility aids when I’m not a child!!!

ok well this blew my mind
This is also true with filmmakers. Western filmmakers pan their cameras mostly left to right and Iranian filmmakers do right to left.

I've decided to use the term "convenience food" instead of "junk food."
I think it's more honest, and less loaded. It's all food, some of it is more appropriate when you don't have the spoons left for food prep. It takes slightly more energy to peel a banana than to open a bag of chips.
We try to save the convenience food for days when we need something easy, so eat a banana.

look, guys, this may seem ironic coming from a person with Verbose Disease, but I'm about to tell you the secret to winning social media: shutting the fuck up. you have a controversial discourse opinion? shut the fuck up and no one will know. can't participate in a boycott for various reasons? shut the fuck up and no one will know. you think or do something Problematic that has no bearing on anyone but yourself? shut the fuck up and no one will know. you haven't been keeping up on a pressing social issue? shut the fuck up and no one will know. your mind is a wonderful place where you can have all the bad takes in the world and they're all perfectly insulated from everyone and everything unless you try to excise them on a grand scale. you can take the mental L all by yourself without using a public platform as a confession booth and face zero repercussions and it'll be just fine. open up a damn diary and explain yourself there.

A big tip I have for talking about trans issues is to make sure you aren’t talking in absolutes where none exist.
It’s a trap I know I’ve fallen into myself, especially when I’m making a post out of anger or frustration of my own experiences being erased or diminished, because the language sounds stronger and more punchy in absolutes. It hits as hard as the emotion I’m feeling is hitting me. The problem is that creates issue with not just the accuracy of the statements being made, but also ends up erasing or diminishing the experiences of other people in turn.
Quite often in posts about transphobia of all sorts, this sort of erasure can happen to other groups of trans people that the post does not focus on, and basically all of them end up ignoring, erasing, or even demonizing intersex people of all genders and their experiences.
We all as people who live outside of pericisheteronorms have more in common in our struggles against the structures that enforce those norms than we sometimes realize, and we should not be alienating or outright adding to the struggles of others in trying to alleviate the problems we face ourselves.

I hate to hand it to wheatley but imo one of the funniest moments in the portal games is “ah’m speakin’ in an ACCent that is beyond her range of HEARing”
the accent itself
the fact that he assumes that she can’t hear him based on nothing
glados has an american accent
the idea that she won’t notice the wall opening if she can’t hear him
the sheer annoyance in glados’s voice when she corrects wheatley
she calls him ‘metal ball’ despite very much knowing what a core is. is this a corephobic slur of some kind

Every character is a trans man. Every character is also a trans woman. Every character is also nonbinary. Every character is also genderfluid. And so on and so forth. You understand.

if you're transgender and need name ideas, may I direct you toward the nato alphabet because like. delta? november?? echo?? romeo is like the butchest name. please consider foxtrot. being named whiskey would be cool as hell. I know multiple transmascs who were a bit too into english lit and are named victor now. I've met people named sierra who were trans in every direction. maybe don't name yourself golf

I think part of why people don't like to call PCOS and gynecomastica intersex is because it challenges the image of intersex people being super rare. We're more common than you think.
