Back in Business
Hello! My name is Buster and I love my family! My morning starts with a big stretch after my sleep. I have to go to the bathroom so I make my way over to mom and dad’s bedroom. Mom had been away for a few days and we missed her so much but she’s back now and dad is so happy! I have to whine a few times, a couple scratches at the door but mum comes to the door. I am soooo happy to see her open the door, I barrel my way down the hall and almost knock over a plant. She opens the door and I run around for a bit, do my business and start making my way back when all of a sudden… SQUIRREL! I smell him and go running towards the trees! Barking to let it know I mean business and we don’t want him here. I never see him, but I am certain he is afraid of me and has run away.
Next thing I hear is my food bowl hit the floor. So I run to the back door and mom is standing there with a big smile on her face and she always say’s I am her ‘goodest boy’. I wag my tail really big and fast when she says that cause I feel happy.
After I eat my breakfast, mom and dad both notice I am a bit wet and gross from running around outside so they have to dry me down before I am allowed to walk through the house, but I hate being dried down so I play hide and seek with them for a little bit, but they’re really good and they find me and grab me. Annoying. After that I get tired so I go to my dog bed and hit the hay.

Next thing I knew, I smelt something yummy coming from the kitchen! I see mom and dad cooking and it always smells good but this time, it smelt super good. I try and do my puppy dog eyes on mom but she doesn’t budge.. so I go to the weaker link.. and dad gives me a piece of MASHED POTATOES. I think I got dad in-trouble because mom said something about how it’s gonna make my stomach upset.
I lay down in the kitchen watching them finish up and then I hear the best words ever. “WALK”. BEST TIME OF THE DAY! I book it to the front door where I patiently wait for mom and dad… I even grab my leash for them.

We make it out of the house and we head to my favourite park ever… I am so happy, I even brought home a big stick.
When I get home I am cleaned off again because I am icky, but mom and dad spelled out a word together and I cant understand but the next thing I knew.. They were washing me! How rude! I hate this tub. PLEH.

Dad fed me dinner after my bath while mom was getting ready to go out for dinner. They always leave a tv show running for me, and they even gave me some treats before they left. Both of them gave me a BIG KISS before leaving. I love my mom and dad, and I love when everyone is Home.

Henrik’s O.T.
Morning’s are tough without Jane but Buster keeps me going. Right on time, I hear the little guy whining and trying to get into the room. Jane doesn’t typically like dogs on the bed but since she’s away I have let him on once or twice… or more. Sorry Jane! I picked up an overtime shift today to get prepared for the week as we are installing the arena board for the new ice arena in downtown Calgary. Wake up time was 5:45, so after snoozing the clock for 10 more minutes, I get my day going. I start breakfast, let Buster outside for a run and bathroom break. Buster and I eat our breakfast at the same time. Kibble for the boy, and a bagel with cream cheese and coffee for me.
We got a huge dump of snow last night, everything was white and frosty out. This remote engine start up feature on the truck is pretty wicked. It has saved me so many times already.. and it’s only November. I grabbed all my tools, equipment and my hockey gear, because after this work shift I had a beer league game.
Jeff, our neighbour was clearly doing the same thing I was doing this morning and trying to get a head start on the roads, but unfortunately his little Honda Civic couldn’t make it through, and he had slipped off the road a bit. I threw him a hand and got his car out. Poor fella barely made it 20 feet past his drive.

Work has been quite exciting since I get to work on the new arena that the Calgary Flames will play at. Seeing the arena in its barebones before it all comes together is so surreal. I can't wait to go to the games, especially when its playoffs and the entire arena is sold out and in all red. Hopefully they start doing good soon...
After work I head to the University of Calgary to get ready with the team. Traffic was a bit brutal but, I got to the arena 20 minutes late so I ended up missing the first period. No sweat, I easily came out on the second period and got the boys going with scoring our first goal cutting the lead in half as we were down 2-0 when I got on the ice. We ended up in a tie and had to go into overtime. Do or die… what did we do? We did the damn thing, scored in overtime with a beautiful slap shot from the blue line.

I got out of the rink fairly quickly to get home and feed Buster and myself before we head off to the airport to pick up Jane. Seeing our pictures on the wall when I got home made me so excited I could hardly contain myself. We'll get to put some wood in the fireplace and cozy up all together. On the way to the airport I was jamming out to the radio, and just remembered what it felt like to have Jane by my side and how life is so Sweet.

Jane’s Day Off
Welcome to my little one day ‘get away’ from work. First off I will start by saying, I miss Henrik and Buster. I’ve gotten texts from Henrik that show that they’re doing just fine without me, lol.

I fly back home tomorrow to my two loves, and I cannot wait to see them both. This last full day in San Francisco has been picture perfect. All week, I was in and out of meetings, dealing with number crunching, you name it, we were facing it. As per one of my post during the week, you can see that coffee was a necessity. We had the best coffee shop on the floor level. I am on a first name basis with the crew there. Not sure if that is a good thing or not.
Today I woke up early to catch the local farmers market down by the bay. I couldn’t bring too much home with me, but I love meeting locals, seeing what people have to offer and their creative side blossom. You can almost always find a local artist, who has created a map of their city according to their art style and I make it a mission to find one before our work week ends.. Although I would LOVE to have my main two men with me, it’s fun to get away sometimes.
I just so happened to find this one seller, who had a couple styles. I purchased the pink map but I just had to show this other piece she made because.. wow.

I got the pink one.
Even though it was a bit chilly, the market was blossoming with fresh fruits & vegetables as well as freshly baked goodies, like bread, cinnamon buns, cookies, you name it, it was there and in your face. I even got to sample some fresh baked sourdough.. Oh the flowers too, they were stunning… Hey Henrik, if you’re reading this, take note.

I made my way through the day, shortly after leaving the market with a couple things, I noticed that I was well underfed and needed something in my stomach. Conveniently, there was this lovely little diner that was still serving breakfast. We all know I love my pancakes. At this time one of my coworkers met me for some food as well.

Safe to say I didn’t need to eat anything for the rest of the day. Look of the size of those cakes!
We checked out the famous ‘Painted Ladies’ and enjoyed the sun. Read a bit of my book and got some sun on my skin. As easy as it is to get caught up in the week, finding time to completely ground yourself is necessary.
We walked back to our hotel and caught the sunset catching corners through the streets and in-between street cars.

As much as I loved being here, I cannot wait to get back Home.
