plans the whole day

shows up at your door with a giant bouquet of roses in one hand

and breakfast, which he picked up on the way, in the other

“no, viktor, first it was a guided tour at that museum, then it was lunch at that fancy restaurant we weren’t even dressed for-”

you have to concede because it’s the first date and you know he wants it to be special

but little do you know it won’t change much in the future

on the way to the next place, he attempts to buy you everything you so much as glance at

he does manage to get a few, even though you protested

“i don’t deserve all of this, viktor!”

“you deserve the sun!!!”

he has enough conviction to last a thousand first dates

really though, there’s only one other place he wants to take you

“viktor, why are we at the skating rink?”

because at the end of the day, he just wants to share his special place with you

nervous as hell

actually terrified, because he’s never done this before

he was putting it off for a week

but, no, you thought he was making plans?

think again

he overslept and you found him lying in bed asleep

surrounded by notes for date ideas, full of scribbles and titles

“Date Ideas with Y/N”, “Food Y/N Likes”, “Gift Ideas for Y/N”

he wakes up to find you reading the lists

and panics so hard that you have to leave the room until he comes out

but then he’s dressed and ready and looking like a man on a mission

takes your hand and leads you straight to the first destination:

lunch by the beach, a picnic with food he’d made the night before

including a separate packet of hot chips he bought on the way

specifically for feeding the seagulls

many seagull photos were taken that day, selfies that would put phichit to shame but he also reblogs them on his yuuri fanblog

you’re there for much longer than anticipated, and he freaks out again because all of his other plans are ruined

but in the end it’s okay because you calm him down while heading back where you then share katsudon

and you both secretly think to yourselves that it was the best first date ever

oh, you’d best believe he’s super fucking nervous

but he doesn’t even really realise it himself tbh

he waits until the point where he’ll be just right on time, maybe even a few minutes late because ‘that’s awesome fashion’

but suddenly he realises that he maybe should have bought flowers

so he frantically gathers up a bunch of flowers from your neighbour’s garden

so he ends up being late anyway

and when you see the flowers, you know exactly where they came from but don’t point it out for his sake

once you’ve settled them on your windowsill, you hear him call from the front door

because he’s an impatient little shit

and he also refused to come inside because apparently “you’re on a strict schedule”

the first (and only) place he takes you is right back to his house

because it’s normal to introduce you to his grandfather on the first date, right?

you won’t deny that it’s the best piroshki you’ve ever had though

or that seeing the way yuri is with his grandfather is the cutest darn thing you’ll ever see

but it’s only when yuri takes your dishes for you that his grandfather speaks directly to you

“how long have the two of your been dating?”

“well, this is actually our first date, i don’t think he realises that most people don’t introduce their s/o to the family on the first date”

and even though you just sat around talking for the rest of the day, it was definitely the most intimate first date you’d ever had

and you know you’ll definitely be using ‘Yuratchka’ from now on
