Poll: i’m curious as to how others dry clothes. In europe its very common to air dry clothes outside. Yet in the usa i hear dryers are most used yet the weather seems like it would do a good job and be better for environment.
How do you dry your washing/laundry?
Outside on a line (when weather allows)
On a airer/clothes horse inside
In a tumble dryer
Multiple of above
See results
#most of them i hang on hangers in whatever bathroom or closet space i have to try#i only tumble dry the really heavy duty stuff like towels or lined jeans that take too long to air dry#fun fact a lot of housing properties at least in my area have rules against hanging laundry outside to dry

Серьёзный, занятой мужчина. Настолько серьёзный, что в игре появился только в ивенте, как декорация

i haven't seen a lot of people talk about it and i tend to disengage with people being negative in any way about media i enjoy
but i saw something about how kuro games is about character stuff in wuwa and it reminded me of a convo i had with a friend
kuro games also developed punishing: gray raven.
according to my friend who plays the game, kuro is really good at character moments. and with what i've seen in wuwa, i really agree. characters as their central story are extremely detailed and often very moving.
sometimes these little moments translate into other things (mourning aix first quest, old man by norfall barrens...)
the game is still early enough that i wont rag on it much, but i do feel that with as much as we know about rover, i feel the idea of going to destroy the great evils is sort of forgotten - but this is also how i felt when i got into liyue in genshin.
i love that encore got a character quest, i'd love to see more four star characters have some. i love that all characters, four stars included, get a fun resonance liberation burst animation. i love that when you take the time to build your characters and look into their stories you're rewarded with such interesting little nuggets of world building and get a little insight into the characters; and how the allowance of some information (and how much) you get tells you about this character.
i love how dynamic the world is around you as tacet discords fight and kill each other, how soldiers can be seen getting into battles with these creatures and exiles.
worrying trends i do see with kuro though is that although they are very willing and ready to listen to player feedback, that they may bend too much, and the game and story will suffer for it.
another smaller issue i have, though not entirely kuro or the game's fault, is how empty the world feels - as most open world games feel.
i loved changli's story, i loved shorekeeper's story, i loved jiyan's story, i crave to know more about rover's perdicament and i desire to see more of the fractsidus, i want to explore more areas and meet new characters.
the black shores was so gorgeous and stunning, mt. firmament was an excellent challenge for me and forced me to take more time studying the new tacet discords to fight them effectively (lumiscale constructs are the bane of my existance).
i sincerely hope kuro will continue to develop their characters and story.
it's one of my favorite games for a reason.
#omg yeah the CHARACTER TIDBITS#mortefi please tell me more about your third cherished item#because there HAS to be a story behind that one#wuthering waves

Bro, I'm honestly just lowkey impressed with Kuro. Because they did this fanservice-y pose with fem Rover:
And I just wouldn't have thought they'd throw masc Rover into the same pose, BUT THEY DID:
Like, yeah, they didn't sex him up enough but they sooo could have had him standing up straight lol
🙏😌 thank you Kuro for treating your MCs the same lol

I am becoming aware of the effect a lack of trust in the media has had on people, paired with a dearth of research skills.

ok, because i just saw a terrible take, i feel compelled to say that there is no "fic market" to "oversaturate" in fandom. good gravy.

it is november, and yesterday it felt like it was supposed to be snowing. in boston, november used a winter month, not a fall month. it is supposed to be chilly; rarely capping over 45F. it is a sweater-and-jacket month. it is a "maybe a scarf too" month. in my childhood, november meant blizzards and sleet.
it did not snow. tomorrow the weather predicts a high of 76.
i have spent so many years of my life studying the longterm possibilities of climate change - the culmination of capitalism wreaking havoc on the bodies of people, animals, plants - but every so often i am still shocked by something small and personal.
in a hundred years, when someone goes outside in boston - will they know the feeling of "snow in the air"?
i know it's a learned feeling, a sensation that maybe only longterm experience can teach. a few years ago, i was walking with my friend who had just moved up from the south. i said it smells like snow and she gave me this look like - what the fuck. i said it feels like snow too, which didn't help. she looked up to the bright blue sky and then back at me and then back at the sky. 12 hours later, we had 3 inches. you can just tell if it's going to snow.
except i can't tell, anymore. i stand outside in a tee shirt and watch my dog dance around a lake. we're in a drought and the skin of the water has peeled back twenty meters. the lake is tamed, quiet, puddlelike and sour. my pokemon go app warns there's a weather condition in my area.
my dog gets too hot from running and sits in the water and i want to laugh about his long frame and how awkwardly he sits - and i can't. some simian part of my brain is scratching the walls. it was supposed to snow. it was supposed to snow, but now it's warm instead.
during the last full solar eclipse, the dogs and the birds and the crickets went crazy under utter darkness. we laughed at them then, promising it will all be okay in a moment. but some part of me is still locked in that long night: some animal sensation.
something is wrong, my body says. i can't afford eggs or rent. i go outside to watch a sunset and listen to birdsong. i don't bring a jacket. allergies are killing me this season, allergies i didn't have as a kid. everyone comments that halloween has started to feel strange, offkilter. that it's hard having "holiday cheer." my body thinks it's april, and then it thinks we're in september, and then june.
something is terribly wrong, she whispers. go outside. it is supposed to be snowing.

I dunno man. I found out today that a subway sandwich is $14 now. A shitty subway footlong sandwich that isn't actually 12 inches long and is occasionally made with expired ingredients and was never a great option to start with. I ate those in high school because I was broke and at the mall a lot.
There are poke bowls in my city from a local place for $16. Super fresh fish and veg, warm rice, more than I can eat in one sitting, for the price of a sandwich and a drink at america's most mid-tier sandwich shop.
Someone in another post said (paraphrased) you used to be able to get something mediocre for cheap, but now the mediocre things cost as much as the nice things so why would you?
#omg yeah I was JUST thinking about this#got subway for lunch on my trip to the beach a couple of months ago#i wanna say it was indeed like $16#then on my way to kumoricon last week i stopped for lunch at an italian restaurant#and got a full plate of pasta (plus a loaf of bread i munched on for the rest of the weekend) for 14.79#make it make sense#i'd only go to subway if I REALLY needed the speed/convenience#but for a full meal that's more satisfying from a nutritional and sensory perspective#that costs the same or EVEN LESS#i'd rather just schedule a bit of extra time for it
