“Do you think we will be friends in every universe?”

“What kind of question is that?”

Ritsu chuckles, watching your confused expression and tilting his head. He could've asked you a million different questions, but instead, he chose to go with the silly question that was on his mind.

"Just humour me," he said, resting his chin on his knuckles, "Imagine this...” He said, making sure he got your undivided attention. "Every universe." He said slowly, letting the word roll off his tongue, "No matter what. In every universe. How many do we remain best friends in...?"

Now that you think about it. You are best friends now, but what if somewhere out there in an alternate world, you both are strangers or not even close at all?

“Why should another universe matter?" The only thing that matters is right now, in this universe, we’re best friends.” You answered, tilting your head slightly with a slight raised eyebrow.

“I guess you’re right…” he sighed dramatically, before turning to look at you, still smirking. A mischievous look appeared in his red eyes, as he began to shuffle closer to you. “Maybe another universe me is friends with someone better than you?” He teased, sticking his tongue out.

“Very funny. Haha.” Ritsu knew you would reply with something along those lines.

“Well then, will you promise you will stay with me forever in another universe? Including this one too, of course.” Ritsu puts up his pinky finger, waiting for you to intertwine yours with his.

“Really? A pinky promise?” You asked. A scoff can be heard.

“C’mon, just do it and say that you will stay with me forever too.” You rolled your eyes before giving into his request as you intertwined your pinky around his.

“I’ll stay with you forever.”

Lies.

Ritsu should’ve known the moment you said that you were lying. He was mad. No, he was beyond furious. You already made a promise with him. So, why did you leave without even saying goodbye? What happened to the promise you two made?

Hopefully in the next universe he could confess his love for you.
