the thing is i could believe in a version of reality where apollo accidentally calls phoenix 'dad' once and it's really weird, but in order for that to happen i feel like apollo would have had to have anyone he called dad before that point in his life. and i don't think he did. but what i think DOES happen is that when they're working on some followup stuff for the jurist system test trials klavier accidentally calls phoenix 'bro', which is somehow much much worse.

i just think you need to love miles edgeworth for the fact that he is a tar pit of a man who every day wakes up and keelhauls himself through trying to do the right thing out of 75% self-flagellation and 50% genuine idealism, which he then intersperses with the occasional hysteria-induced flashes of kindness and genuine human connection.

the thing is i think kazuma asougi does in fact know and understand that he is a guy who wants to have sex with men but i do also think he's so preserving his bloodline pilled that it would never occur to him to commit to that as a lifestyle it's more of an activity. like in his head hes going to find a suitable Wife who he treats mostly like a business partner (this is his presumption about how everyone else's marriages are working as well) and they are going to, eventually, have a son. this does not mean he has to stop having some honorable sex with the comrades though. ryuunosuke on the other hand i think has not ever questioned his sexuality because i don't think he really knows that's a thing you could do. it just would not occur to him. however his thoughts on his long term romantic prospects cap out at like 'something will probably happen some day' just because well that seems to be the natural course of many a life and who is he to say he's any different. i think the first time he is sexually propositioned by a man his reaction would be much in the way of assuming everyone else is more or less in the know and chill about this being a thing that happens and he just never realized it up until now. i think he just kind of takes the whole thing in stride. i think he'd take to it like a duck in water to be frank but that's neither here nor there.

the point: in a hypothetical situation where these things manage to align enough for him and asougi to be fucking each other i think it ends up with asougi saying shit that, although not verbatim, carries the sentiment of 'i wish i could get you pregnant' and ryuu being incapable of empathizing with yet completely unperturbed by this turn of events.

here's my vision. i think something that happens is that ema wants to make weed brownies but her garbage apartment has a shit oven that can't bake anything evenly and so kay offers to let her into edgeworth's kitchen (she has a key) ((its stolen but also edgeworth knows she stole it and is just letting that happens because like whats he gonna do about it)) which is pristine and untouched because the man has neither the time nor the wherewithal to cook his own food. and emas like are you sure that ok i dont want mr edgeworth to be mad at me hes one of the only people i respect and kays like its fiiine its fine here ill text him. so she texts him can i bake brownies in your kitchen? you can have some btw. and edgeworths like yeah i guess if i can have some and you clean up after yourself and make sure pess doesn't eat anything while you're cooking its fine. and kay says ok we're in we just gotta make some without weed in it for mr edgeworth. and i think after they do this they choose to get high in his living room and watch shit on his big tv while he's at work under the assumption that they're totally gonna clear out by the time he's home because hes a workaholic freak who is never in his own house but he actually gets home at a reasonable time that day and is like. so can i have a brownie. and they just say yeah because they're super thrown at getting caught super high in his living room that they forget to tell him which of the brownies he should be eating and he just takes one from the tray that already has some missing like a normal person would. and by the time anyone realizes what's happened it's way too late and edgeworth just has a godawful time getting way too high and has to lock himself in his bedroom spooning his dog and watching tokusatsu clips on his phone for several hours to calm down. and kay and ema aren't allowed in his house unsupervised anymore.
