(Part 2)
Tumblr media
This is a relatively new brand that's dedicated to being budget friendly. I forgot if there was a 意向金 but I didn't see anything of the sort in my purchase history. I remember there was a discount if you bought the blouse + skirt but I wasn't interested in the blouse. I bought it on a whim because the seller released concept art for a different set and I really liked it, so I wanted to show my support somehow.
Tumblr media
A point of confusion starts with the logistics. I think it is a common practice to send a thank you gift or card when you purchase the 定金 (deposit), at least it appears to be the case for this brand. I had purchased the 全款 (full deposit) so I was confused when my purchase was split into multiple packages. I still don't know what that 3rd package is...
Funny story, I thought I bought the 定金 (deposit) portion so I purchased the 尾款 (remaining deposit) but their customer service contacted me like "uhh you don't have to do that" and i was like oh ! ok ! LMAO
Tumblr media
The card shows the fabric used which is quite interesting.
Tumblr media
It causes a problem at the consolidation warehouse when you try to consolidate a package. I was actually supposed to receive a 定金卡 for a different set but I received this skirt instead. The warehouse was probably confused... I will have to contact them about this later which is quite annoying. I'd be aware of this potential issue if you plan on purchasing from them.
Tumblr media
The skirt itself is made well. The bows are all detachable and well made. The white bows are made of fabric material, not ribbon material, so the quality feels durable. The pink bow on the skirt isn't secured, there's a pin that's being held together only by the ribbon, so be mindful of this!
Tumblr media
For a skirt that's less than $20, I think it's very well made, it just needs some ironing (I swear I'll get one soon...!!) but it's surprisingly well designed in many ways and I'm very impressed.
First of all, safety shorts are included as a separate item from the skirt. I like this design as I like to adjust the blouse from under the skirt.
The length is just right, and I believe the skirt was revised to be able to hold the fabric weight properly, and I can feel the effort as it holds onto my waist properly.
The zip is a little difficult to zip, which is a common issue with skirts that have a lot of layers, but it's not as bad as lizlisa in my opinion.
The shade of pink is a bit strange, not sure how I'd coordinate the colour, I think I might only pair white blouses with this skirt.
Overall opinion: the value vs quality is very high and I look forward to future items. However, the split package shipping is really troublesome so please ensure the correct item has been consolidated!
Tumblr media
NoGenki is a relatively newer chn brand. It is specifically targeting the jpn demographic, so even their tag is in jpn. I decided to start with testing out the waters with a black inner.
Tumblr media
I got in for the 1st batch which is priced at 74rmb, it is currently 77.8rmb. I wanted to buy the jsk as well but the bust was only 92cm and I was worried about it not fitting.
Tumblr media
The inner was listed for 86cm bust, I have a bust of around 91-94cm, but I could fit into it very well. I'm actually very surprised by how snug it was without being uncomfortable. The torso length helped with it wrapping around my body properly I think.
The sleeves are slightly oversized. As someone who finds oversized sleeves inconvenient, this was the perfect length to have it at and it's very lovely.
Overall opinion: good first impressions, looking forward to trying their other listings but they tend to be on the expensive side so I will take my time looking for the right price at the right time~
I have some other non-clothing items which I'll review in part 3 because I'm tired again and out of phone storage (64gb curse...)
[22/10/24] haul review (part 1)
hi this is my blog where I ramble about jirai kei clothes and brands because I have a lot to say
DISCLAIMER: there's gonna be some negative remarks towards some clothes/brands throughout this review but I try to be honest in every aspect, including positives! Although it's a brief first impression, it's all my personal experience which is subject to change in the future, so please be mindful that it may not represent the brand 100% and may not refelct all customer experience !
Photos of me trying on clothes are very rough... I'm not a professional photographer or model...
Only expand if you can accept this >_<
Tumblr media
kanna oh kanna... I had been waiting for your clothes for an eternity...
kanna has a very cheap price point relative to other chn brands, in exchange for a long pre-order/manufacturing time period.
It took around 2 months since the date of payment to reach the consolidation warehouse, and it took around 2 more months for it to reach me in 🇦🇺 however only 1 month of the transit time was during sea shipping, the other month was me waiting for other packages to arrive at the warehouse to consolidate, so therefore I will consider the overall wait time as 3 months.
Tumblr media
kanna has a very friendly price point, making it a decent budget option.
The way kanna is structured is that they will have a discount for a pre-order, which usually has 1 month of pre-order wait time & 1 month to manufacturing. If you don't want to wait 2 months, you can wait for a listing to buy current stock for 10-20rmb extra.
The black blouse was current stock, the original price is 99rmb vs 108rmb, but I had purchased it with a pre-order item so both items shipped once the pre-order was complete. In hindsight, I should have purchased the items separately to avoid a delay.
There are 2 versions of the blouse, a lace version and a no-lace version. As the image in my purchase history suggests, I was under the impression of buying the lace version, but what I received was the no-lace version. I'm unsure if the listing had that description at the time or purchase, but when I went to check it today, it said lace version in the title so I'm confused. Personally I think the lace version adds more character to the blouse so I'm a bit bummed out, but there's not much I can do. I hope this serves as a reminder that it's important to consider the risks ordering online as mistakes are difficult to rectify without incurring some kind of cost (ie. shipping back to seller to exchange item).
Luckily, the silver lining is that the no lace version makes it look more suitable for daily wear, so it should still see some use!
Although a minor point, I feel that it could be an indication of quality control: the skirt I received had no tag, and all clothings do not have additional indication of the brand besides the clothing size. I think it's just odd that the skirt I received had no tag???
Tumblr media
Blouse: I don't think there's much you can really ask from a $25 blouse, but I think it's still important to highlight any shortcomings despite the cheap price point.
The fabric is on the thin side, it seems like it will wrinkle easily but it's quite comfortable, so I don't mind it. The lace around the cuffs, however, are very stiff and scratchy, so if you're sensitive to lace, I'd be weary of this. The 3 heart buttons are purely decorative, there's hidden buttons underneath to close up the blouse, which makes it inconvenient to wear and take off, but I think it gives a cleaner finishing look for the blouse, it's a very unique design. There is no heart button sewn around the collar area, so you should wear a bow or it will feel very empty. The bow came very wrinkled, the lace is stiff and scratchy just like the cuffs.
Skirt: There's a lot of DIY involved which involves threading the ribbon through the eyes and clamping on the heart charms on the skirt. It's important to leave the heart charms for last after the ribbons have been threaded. Considering the price, I think DIY component is reasonable, but it's a bit off-putting as I'm clumsy >< there are no spare heart charms, so please ensure they are secured on well.
There is no zip or waist ties, only an elastic at the back to cinch the waist, but it doesn't hold the shape of the waist very well. I'm not expecting michell macaron skirt level of waist cinching for $25, but I was expecting at least some level of ability to hold the shape because of the waist design(a bit hard to explain so I'll attach a pic).
Tumblr media
If I could, I'd buy 1 size smaller to help hold the shape of my waist better, but I'd worry about it affecting the safety pants inside. At L size, it's a bit uncomfortable... Thankfully, the lace is soft unlike the blouse so there's no discomfort there at least.
Another issue I take is that the pleats make it difficult to see the heart charms. They tend to fall between the pleats and have to be readjusted often. This could be mitigated by ironing the skirt, maybe...? but the skirt material is quite floppy so I can't imagine the pleats holding its shape well to show the charms.
Tumblr media
Setup: let's talk about the positives. There is some stretch to the fabric, which I like. The silhouette is quite cute and it's decent quality. There are two pockets in the shorts, albeit not being deep, I appreciate it!
However, there's some problems to be mindful of. There are no hidden buttons to prevent any gaps opening up, for me I need to DIY sew one where I circled. Considering secret honey also has DIY aspect for some of their setups in this regard, a brand that's 4-5x the price, I think this is reasonable enough.
The only glaring problem I have is that I'm missing a second button 💔
Tumblr media
It's a huge shame because I think it's such a good deal for a setup considering it's <$50 but I got unlucky with the quality control 💔💔💔
Overall thoughts: budget friendly brand, but be prepared for DIY aspects and long wait times. I still have some kanna items in transit so let's hope my experience with those will be better 🥹
Tumblr media
Underground Idol Group is one of my favourite chn brands. They had a mid-autumn break and they had a 200-30rmb discount, so I took the opportunity to buy a set.
Tumblr media
Blouse: I've heard rumours that rojita copied their blouse, but can't really verify anything, just a fun tidbit whether it's true or not. It's a very beautiful blouse, the structure of the blouse reminds me a little of Fluffy Heart's vampire blouse. This type of collar design makes it difficult to attach the bow in my opinion. The bow length is so long that it won't dip into the cleavage window, which I appreciate. There is lace around the collar which can be a bit scratchy around the neck.
Tumblr media
There were a few inconspicuous spots on the back (???) but it's not very noticeable. The fabric is very thick, not too many stray threads.
Tumblr media
Kind of hard to see in the pic (sorry for my shitty photo skills...) but the 2nd & 3rd buttons don't rest completely flat and you can kinda see the lace lines splitting a bit & aren't completely straight. The buttons may be due to the thick fabric, but I can't say for sure. The cuffs aren't too tight on me but it angles downwards. Due to the shape of the cuffs, it might not be flattering on people like me who have wide shoulders. Still, I love the design so it doesn't bother me much ^-^
Skirt: there is no waist ties/zip, only elastic band to hold waist shape. It came with straps but I took it off for the pic. There is a lot of fabric so it puffs up a lot and when you spin around, it feels very satisfying. There was a strand of long thread, which I took a pic of on another phone but I'm too lazy to attach it here.
The stretch on the elastic is very big, so it might not capture the waist as well as I'd like it to but it holds well considering the skirt circumference, it's a lot of fabric! It definitely holds up well, I just prefer my skirts to wrap around my waist tightly lol but it's perfectly fine the way it is.
The heart charms are secured on well but it'll occasionally angle in all sorts of directions, making it look not so uniform.
Overall thoughts: ol' reliable, decent price for quality and great designs :3
I'm too tired so I'll continue my review when I have a bit more energy _(┐「ε:)_
