A new take on Villian Stone in Sonic 4 (I don't know of this has been done before, but I haven't seen it yet)

So instead of actually dealing with his grief and his emotions and using them as a fuel for revenge, this Stone is completely numb (with a hint of good ol denial). And when I say numb, I mean numb, no real emotion, working on autopilot, detached from everyone and everything.

Then somebody steals an old project of Robotnik (Metal Sonic), and Stone has to help team sonic and try to get metal back. (They kinda barge into his life or what is left of his life and demand his help because he is familiar with Robotniks machines)

While on the hunt to find Metal, Team Sonic (plus Amy, minus shadow who is doing god knows what) get on the topic of the doctor. Because of Stones lack of a reaction,they get bolder with their comments (especially Sonic), and they start to talk to Stone about Robotnik and Sonic even goes as far as telling Stone that he should be happy he lost that "baggage" etc. (Or something along these lines, i love Sonic but he doesn't give two shits about Robotnik and isn't shy about voicing this)

And that last comment snapps Stone out of his numbness and he just loses his shit.

Team Sonic can only stare in horror as the sweet, hobby barista and agent loses all of his patience and control. His eyes visibly darken and get a manic gleam. His face bears an erratic smile that Stone isn't quit able to push down, as he locks eyes with the smaler "Aliens".

His voice is quiet with a dangerous edge and his breath shakes with barley suppressed phycotic giggles as he forces out the words he had held back so long.

He tells them how much he wishes the doctor and him never went to Green Hills. How much he wishes that they never encounter Sonic. How much he wants his doctor back.

And he goes into detail and asks them, what would they have done? What would they have done if they had to wait 8 months for the person they cared the most about to come back from an alien planet. And doing that while everyone else assumes them to be dead and you yourself are scared that you will never see them again. How would they feel if they had to dig through the rumble and ashes of an abandoned battlefield to find an almost life less body? How would they feel if they had to see the love of their life suffer while they desperately try to heal them? Having to watch them being in pain, while being powerless to do anything about that.

He asks them if this is supposed to be justice, if he deserved to lose, and keep on losing his doctor at every turn?

How dare they say things like that, while the doctors sacrifices still shines at the night sky, a constant reminder of Stones failure? Of his failure to protect the one person he deeply cared about. The one person he truly loved and who dedicated his last moments to Stone.

The words just spill out of Stone, frantic and manic. He couldn't stop talking even if he wanted to. The veil had been lifted, and reality crashed down on Stone. So he kept talking. The sudden surge of pure hate he felt towards them and everyone that wronged his Doctor wasn't unwelcome.

He kept talking.

He had to.

He needed them to understand why they would have to suffer.

Why they are going to face the consequence he will impose.

And in that moment, Team Sonic realised a monumental truth they were too blind to see: There was a reason why the doctor kept Stone around. They were more alike than anyone thought.

A shiver runs down their spines as they watch Stone monologue, and they realise: Agent Stone would do anything for his doctor, whether the doctor is alive or dead.

to those of you who are moving here from tiktok, from someone whos used both tiktok and tumbr for years...

1. DO NOT censor your posts

dont censor sex, abuse, suicide, dont censor it. we dont have censors like tiktok does, you wont be banned for talking about these things and tagging them properly helps people avoid them (also, we dont have shadowbanning here)

2. we dont really have an algorithm

you follow who you follow, and you see posts from who you follow or what you search. the 'for you page' is basically useless here. this also brings me to my next two points

3. dont crosstag

we get it, on tiktok you have to crosstag for reach, but thats not really a thing here. just tag your posts properly (also posters often leave more info about the post in the tags!! and when you reblog stuff you can leave your own notes in the tags, kind of like the old "repost comments" on tiktok)

4. dont expect to go viral/be famous

"viral" isnt really a thing on here (at least not for the average blogger). your posts will probably get 2-10 likes and you wont get nearly as many followers than on tiktok. thats just how tumblr is

5. blocking is your best friend

tiktok is VERY discussion based, and while tumblr is much more discussion based than other social medias, its still not a good place for ragebait/discourse. dont interact, itll make your experience worse in the end, just block and move on

6. you cant go into someone elses house and start rearranging their furniture

this is tumblr, not tiktok. dont diss old tumblr users for how they use the site or try to change them, thats like going into someone elses house and trying to rearrange their furniture. we've been here longer and we're familiar with the site and its culture, either find your niche, adapt, or find a different app
