Atem’s little check-in with Yugi before paying the 1000 life points (and therefore several of Yugi’s limbs) is very sweet. I’ve said this before but thematically one of the main distinctions/parallels drawn between Atem and the other dark-sides is Atem’s consistent care and respect for Yugi’s autonomy, while Bakura and Marik get treated like convenient warm bodies. YM and YB are using vessels, claiming them as their own; Atem is borrowing, always only ever borrowing, and he is hyper-aware of how much none of it really belongs to him.

A very sweet anon who called me sunshine and most definitely wasn’t @lufdraws sent me a request for some sleepy snuggles with Atem, Yuugi and Jounouchi AND OH BOY OH BOY DID I LOVE THAT. YES PLEASE.

They probably spent the night playing games and reading comics and were too tired to get to the bed in the end. Luckily the floor is not so bad when you can hold the two people you love most in your arms.
