Humm I've seen people say Jorge wrote her to be more childlike? Though I haven't seen the sources for that. And she's got that whole also stuck on that island thing. So in general her character is more naive in epic, and more lovestruck. I still think the songs read as manipulative, but I guess that's up to debate on how you interpret it

Calypso in the odyssey to me feels a lot more cynical. She's also not stuck on ogygia, she just lives there. She's still in love with Odysseus, tries to get him to stay even when she agrees to Hermes to let him leave. She doesn't tell Odysseus that Zeus commanded her to let him go, instead she says that it's her who's finally decided she's ready to let him leave. When he protests and suspects her of tricking him, she smiles and caresses his arm. The vibes are just a lot more sinister there, but also more intentional. She knows what she's doing

From the start of Kryos's life, Antinous would sit by the shore and beg ask for Poseidon to come back. Being polite wasn't his strong suit but he tried (plus he figured demanding a god to pay attention to you wouldn't turn out well).

Antinous wanted to scream, shout, cuss Poseidon out for breaking his heart and leaving him...but he partially blamed himself. He was stupid enough to fall in love with a god and paid the price.

Kryos was always in his arms when he sat by the shore but too young to understand what his dad was doing.

After Anti would put Kryos to bed he would cry himself to sleep. Please believe Antinous felt pathetic for doing so. He would attempt slapping himself (or other means of self-harm) to make himself stop.

"Crying like a heartbroken widow, get yourself together!"

So, yeah, lots of pent-up emotions in that despicable man.

(Also, I HC that Antinous had an abusive father and therefore that's the reason he doesn't hurt Kryos. He remembers how he felt and doesn't want HIS son to feel that way.)
