Your country carpenter would like to invite any Christian stopping by, to take a stand and bind the fraud taking place in the Presidential Elections.  And then ask God to bind this in the heavenly realm.  President Trump cannot wage this war alone.

Happy Birthday Jesus!

Your country carpenter is celebrating Jesus’ birthday today.  Yes today October 6, 2020 is the actual birthday of our Savior.  Please do not write down, October 6, to mark on your calendar for next year because it does not follow on the Gregorian Calendar.  His true birthday is the 18th day of the 7th Bible month.  Jesus was born during the festival of Sukkot which takes place from the 15th to the 22nd of the month called Tishrei.  Our God is a master mathematician, and He prearranged for the birth, the baptism, the death and the resurrection, to follow according to His festivals.
Mary and Joseph arrived in Bethlehem on Friday the 16th and finding no room in the inn, they found lodging in the stable.  In this temporary dwelling they spent the Sabbath resting from their journey.  Jesus was born that night, Sunday the 18th.
Similarly, thirty years later as Jesus’ birthday approached, Jesus journeyed out to where John was teaching and arrived and was baptized on Friday the 16th.  There He rested over the Sabbath and then Sunday the 18th He was called into the wilderness where He was tempted.
Three and one half years later, we find the same days and dates marking important events during the first Bible month.  The festival of Passover takes place during the month of Nisan and is a weeklong event running from the 15th to the 21st.  Jesus was crucified and buried on Friday the 16th where He rested in the tomb over Sabbath.  And then, following the master plan, He arose from the grave on Sunday morning the 18th.   The number 18 in Hebrew means LIFE.

Yes there is a lot of ladder work. When one must place ladders on top of a roof to work, one is very appreciative of harnesses, safety ropes and self retracting lanyards.

This is our progress after a few weeks.
The ladders on each side of center on the gable end are 32 feet long and do not quite reach to install the facia. The center 40 foot ladder is a little over kill but needed on this project.

Last summer your country carpenter won the contract to install siding, soffit and facia on this classic old style barn using modern materials.
The siding and soffit are Louisiana Pacific's Smart side and Smart soffit respectively. The small attached potting shed is clad in James Hardie's Hardie plank. The trim and facia are Miratec. All are very fine products that have been proven to withstand the elements well, allowing this building to stand into the next century.

This spring we are starting on the residence. It too will be clad in the same fine products as the barn. The home owners have taken great care in choosing the cladding for each wall and when finished, it should look just as striking as their barn.
Today we started installing the window and corner trim and then the siding. Soffit and facia will come tomorrow so the siding can finish up to the peak.

The carpenter is bracing himself for the upcoming third anniversary of his son's death. Oh how time flies when one wishes it to pass slowly and yet it drags by so slowly when one needs it to fly.
He has laid this pain down at his Saviour's feet so many times yet somehow manages to pick it back up.

It was a beautiful day to be out driving in the country today. The carpenter drives past this field quite often. The crop planted here this year seems to get prettier by the day as fall approaches. Could not help myself, had to stop and take a few pictures to share.

Your country carpenter is working on a barn just outside of town, here in the Gem State. Hot temperatures encourage me to arrive in time to watch the sunrise over the corn field. On the other side of the barn, fresh cut alfalfa hay is laying in wind-rows waiting to be bailed. The smell of fresh cut hay on a cool morning is amazing.

Betty Boop Rose dancing in the breeze.
"As a father has compassion on his children, so Jehovah has compassion on those who honor him. For he knows how we are formed; he knows we are dust. As for man, his days are like grass; he flourishes like a flower in the field. The wind blows over it, and it disappears, and no one can even tell where it once grew. But the covenant of Jehovah is from everlasting to everlasting on those who honor him. His righteousness extends to there descendants. "

Your country carpenter had a wonderful 4th driving some of his granddaughters in the parade. Being a grandfather does have its blessings. My son and daughter-in-law decorated the old convertible for me after an early morning wash and wax job.
