My dad once told me to separate science from reality and I still don’t know what that means.

Forgot this account exists but here’s your weird animal fact of the day in honor of the one transphobe who interacted with my first and only post:
Female spotted hyenas have penises, and are the only species that we know of that gives birth through that type of appendage. They have to retract themselves appendages back into their body in order for a male to have sex with them. Also, they can have erections, and unlike most other female mammals, can urinate through the same appendage.
Biologically, a penis and a labia evolve from the same structure, so females of a species having a penis-like structure is very interesting in our own society because of how humans have historically treated intersex people. Doctors would give a child (often intersex) a sex assignment based on the size of their appendage, even removing it to fit that norm. This obviously often leads to gender dysphoria later on, and is frowned upon now in practice.
So ladies and enbys, if you were born with a penis, so are hyenas. You are valid.
Here are some more species with interesting sex characteristics and behaviors. If you want the academic papers on these topics, DM me.

It’s so wild to me how people pick and choose facts to fit their opinions. The only people who say that being trans is “against nature” haven’t actually studied nature.
Anyway, here are some fish for your enjoyment.
