On a hot summer day nothing beats a large scoop of ice cream! And even trying a taste of your friend's cone too!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Due to some circumstances, a while ago a fanzine that I was partaking in didn't have enough participants and our dear host had to cancel this year. But he has granted me permission to share my piece for the said 'zine! Hopefully we can try again next year
As the old saying goes, April Ink Storms bring May flowers, and that means Spring Fest is right around the corner! This special event is using the power of pastels to turn Inkopolis Square into a colorful hot spot!
Battle it out in the 48-hour event from April 19th, 3:00pm PT to April 21st, 3:00pm PT.
The theme of Spring Fest is “which will win in a race, the hare or the tortoise?”
Along with this Splatfest, some spring-colored gear will be given out via the Squid Research Lab Report (Splatoon 2) News Channel on your Nintendo Switch system: Spring colored visors and colorful custom kicks with design supervision from Pearl and Marina!
It seems it’s everyone is leaving
So as everyone can tell or already know. Tumblr has purged itself into a serious SFW environment and etc. and will most likely be an empty site as of Dec. 17
And as you see this post I bet you’re wondering, “Oh is Turtle going to leave us?” “We won’t be seeing her artwork” or “Is she going to delete her blogs?” Well my answer for to those questions, no. I’m still going to be on here for good reasons and unfinished business to do on my part. However if Tumblr does decide to pop up out of nowhere and deletes my hard work, I’ll have you guys following me on my other social media accounts. Most of my Social Media accounts aren’t that hard to find since they’re all called Turtledog/Turtledoggy
Twitter: Turtledoggy Deviantart: Swiftdreamer15
Instagram: Turtledoggy
I’ll admit as much as tumblr had its negatives and chaos and unwanted drama… I made tons of wonderful friends, brought me and my girlfriend together and many more.
Well for now we’ll just wait and see what happens
Noticing a little chill in the air? Getting darker a little sooner? That must mean it’s almost time for Frosty Fest! This special global in-game event will turn Inkopolis Square into a winter wonderland! Stages will also be winter themed, and Inklings and Octolings will get to use some very fancy glitter-filled ink!
In keeping with the season, this Splatfest asks: Who do you get most excited to spend the holidays with, Friends or Family? Grab a coat and battle it out in the 48-hour event from January 4th, 2:00pm PT, to January 6th, 2:00pm PT.
Along with the Frosty Fest, special gear items will be distributed via the Squid Research Lab Report (Splatoon 2) News Channel on your Nintendo Switch system. Keep your eyes open for these free holiday gifts in late December, and check back regularly so you don’t miss them!
Above, from left to right: • New Year’s Glasses DX • Twisty Headband • Festive Party Cone • Eel-Cake Hat
We just uncovered more details about an upcoming new special weapon! The Ultra Stamp lets players attack with an enormous hammer. Pressing and holding the ZR Button allows you to advance while striking with the hammer! It looks like you can guard ink attacks coming from the front, but your back is exposed.
If you press the ZR button while you’re in the air, the Ultra Stamp will flip vertically so you can attack opponents mid-air. You can also throw the stamp with the R button to attack a distant opponent! Of course, throwing away your special weapon will end your attack.
Heads up, there’s fresh new amiibo figures joining the ink-splatting action! This 3-pack, featuring Octoling Boy, Octoling Girl, and Octoling Octopus will be available on 12/7, and gives Inklings and Octolings special access to some stylish new gear!
If you befriend the Octoling Girl amiibo figure, you’ll get the spellbinding look of the Enchanted gear! From the Octoling Boy amiibo, you’ll armor up with the Steel gear, and last but not least, with the Octopus amiibo, you’ll get the Fresh Fish gear, based on a popular character in Inkopolis! (Note: balloons not included.)
According to our research, there seems to be a higher percentage of “ghouls,” “jack o’ lanterns,” and “pumpkin-flavored treats” being spread around. Yes, there’s no mistaking: it’s time to get excited for Splatoween!
Both Inklings and Octolings are going batty about this special Splatfest happening later this month. The spooky celebration runs from Friday, 10/19 at 3pm PT, to Sunday, 10/21 at 3pm PT - 48 hours total!
Speaking of treats, you can get special in-game treats! Via an upcoming Nintendo Switch News article, you’ll be able to receive four different pieces of spooky headgear. You will need to follow the Squid Research Lab Report (Splatoon 2) News Channel on your Nintendo Switch, and launch the Splatoon 2 game from the corresponding news article. If you haven’t followed the channel yet, now is a great time to consider it!
You will receive: • Kyonshi Hat • Li’l Devil Horns • Hockey Mask • Anglerfish Mask
Our researchers have two notes about this: 1) Please make sure that you either have the game card inserted or the digital version of the game on your system.
2) Be sure to receive the items before the article ink-dives off your news feed. We recommend grabbing the items as soon as possible!
Reports indicate that Inkopolis Square will also be getting quite the Splatoween makeover to spice up the festive atmosphere. You might even spot other residents of Inkopolis getting into the spirit!
Even battle stages will receive Halloween-themed graffiti. Outside of battle, you might want to use the Recon feature to freely explore!
We hope you enjoy Splatoween and the spooktacular in-game gear!
We just heard that as a special offer, Nintendo Account holders with 12-month Nintendo Switch Online memberships (individual or family) will receive a download code for exclusive in-game gear for the Splatoon 2 game.
Fun fact: the in-game jersey is based on the uniform worn by Team Japan, who won the Splatoon 2 World Championship! Our colleague informed us that the jersey has “online” written on the front in Japanese text because they originally won an online tournament! Visit here to learn more: https://www.Nintendo.com/switch/online-service/special-offers
Nintendo Switch Online 12-month membership (sold separately) and Nintendo Account required for online play. Not available in all countries. Internet access required for online features. Terms apply. nintendo.com/switch-online
Starting with Ver.4.0.0, Splatfests in Splatoon 2 will be changed significantly. Two new modes, Normal and Pro, will replace the previous Solo and Team modes.
In Normal mode, you can jump into a Splatfest Battle on your own or join up with one to three friends from the same Splatfest team. If you join a match as a group of two or three, random solo players will be matched up to make a group of four.
In this mode, the amount you inked is added to any win bonus you get to determine your clout. If your team is on a win streak, the game will try and match you against teams with a similar streak.
Moreover, when weapons, gear, or general styles of four players in your team meet certain conditions, a nickname and a matching bonus will be given to your team.
Pro mode is for those who want to go solo and push themselves to the limit. In Pro mode, you’re judged on your Splatfest Power. Raise it high enough and you could make it into the Splatfest Top 100! In this mode, you increase your clout by beating the opposing team. You get more clout for beating teams with a higher Splatfest Power.
In addition to the above, 10x Battles will be added in both divisions. These are rare matches that will occur if you are lucky, and if you win, your contribution points will be multiplied by 10! And believe or not, there is a rumor that super rare 100x Battles could also occur!
If your friend wins a 10x Battle or if someone wins a 100x match, teams may appear on the big screen in Inkopolis Square. Also, if you’re in the lobby or during matchmaking, such information will pop up on your game screen like a news flash. Team nicknames are also shown in Regular mode, so you may want to try scoring a cool team name and winning these rare matches for bragging rights!
The final Splatfest results are decided based on three factors: votes, clout from Normal mode players, and clout from Pro mode players.
Even if your side loses the popularity contest, Normal and Pro mode victories can slowly but surely turn the tables! Of course, participants on the winning side will receive slightly more Super Sea Snails as a reward for their victory! Good luck!
These beauties are from the Kensa Collection, a special-ordered line of new weapons based on ones you might recognize. These weapons are painted with monotone designs created by the gear brand Toni Kensa, and include the collection’s signature red laundry clip. This first Kensa Collection will be released today, September 13.
