Your Bitterness, I will Dispell
97 posts
"Oh pitiful shadow lost in the darkness Bringing torment and pain to others oh damned soul wallowing in your sin Perhaps it is time to die..." You’ve summoned me. My name is Enma Ai. [gives straw doll] Take this. If you truly wish revenge, just untie the scarlet thread from his neck. Pulling the thread binds you into a covenant with me. I will ferry the soul of your tormentor straight into the depths of Hell....however, once vengeance is served, you will have to deliver your end of the bargain. There always has to be a price. When you die, your soul will also belong to Hell.

"I'm not a demon so to speak... I was once human... I was buried alive by my best friend when I was twelve... Because of this the devil used my grudge to make me the one to avenge others..." She explained calmly, grabbing a mirror from one of the shelves, it was small and somewhat cracked, and handed it to him. "As for kid... Yes I am older then you... But I'm used to it... I do not age so there is not point in treating me any different then you would a kid with the maturity of one of age 1,000..." She told him, finally getting to the outside. It was warmer now outside, and a soft wind blew past in soft gusts. "I'm glad you think I'm friendly despite the facts I have told you... I am here if you ever need somebody to speak to... I don't smile because if I do I too will go to Hell..." In this world, she was not allowed to show much emotion.
"You are from Gravity Falls right...? I will explain to you now... There is no need to rush... When you are in this world time practically stops... You return at the exact same time you left... Especially with that place... I remember how many times I pass threw that place... And the creatures are truly phenomena..." Ai told him with a nod, then thought of something. I shall lead you safely back to your home... As if you go alone who knows what witches will kill you..." Jumping down from the porch like a little kid would, she picked a Spider lilly quickly and effortlessly, folding the stem in an interesting way. Once she finished folding it, Ai carefully put the flower in Billy's hair. "There... This Spider Lilly will follow you to the world of the living and will protect you from danger... or most of it at least..."
She carefully put one lily in her own hair, it was placed in her bangs, and shockingly enough, it made her eyes practically glow a soft light. The dew from the petals dripping onto her cold flesh. "Now... Shall we go...?" Ai questioned, beginning to walk the way Billy came, her footsteps were slow til he managed to walk with her and then it was when she began walking at a normal pace again. As they walked, the sun appeared to finally begin to set, but this was all an illusion, for if they stopped, the sun would stay in the spot it was in when they last looked back to it. The sounds of ghosts wondering where loud and clear, however they were also distant. When they got to the bridge, Ai remembered something as she saw the sakura petals bobbing carefully on the water. It reminded her of a Nursery Rhyme called Sakura Uta.
It was one that she knew when she was young, it was about the ritual that Ai was supposed to be sacrificed to, but was hidden by her friend for two years, the following years were bad for her village, and the blackette was seen as a curse, and they searched the mountains to try and find the lost sacrifice. If her friend didn't led the villagers to her, she wouldn't have been injured. And then she wouldn't have been buried alive by her friend. Nevertheless, she still sings the song, play the games, and visit the places they shared. Despite the harmful memories that came back up. She almost tensed up at the memories, and almost stopped on that bridge, but instead took a deep breath ready to recite the rhyme. keeping her eyes pulled away from Billy, as though afraid to look at him, when in truth she was more afraid of him asking about it all.
"Why do lovely flowers bloom from the Cherry Tree?
Children of seven, wake smile at the sun.
Why do fragrant blossoms stir in the mountain air?
Children of 7 laughing run to the wood.
Why do crimson branches dance in the village streets?
Children of 7 singing call down the wind.
Why do wilting flowers fall from the cherry tree?
Children of seven dying to wake once more..."
billymischief came to the crossroads
She spoke while she worked.  She spoke a lot.  It was good, because it gave him something to focus on other than what was going on.  And what was going on was not exactly painful, but it was squicky enough to be uncomfortable to stay still if he didn't have something to distract him.
He focused on her words.  Her words inspired so many questions but she didn't give him a breath to get them in.  She knew about his true demonic self so there was no point in denying that.  Besides, Billy was noticing little things- details that showed to him that the place he was in was not the world he had come from.  The way the shadows of the sun never changed, and the way the pink flowers on the trees were all the same size, and the girl's curious cold touch.
She left him a moment.  Billy sighed and shifted in the chair she had left for him.  So he was here, in the crossroads- in the place between heaven and hell.  Billy was aware of a portal of sorts in Gravity Falls- a doorway from another world.  He wondered if this could be said world.  Had the ancestors of the gnomes and manotaurs come from this place?  If they did, what did that make them?  Dead?  Undead?  More importantly, how had Billy even gotten here?  He knew he hadn't made a conscious decision to enter the Realm of the Dead.  Was it another demon thing?
And then she was back.  Billy opened his mouth, but she started talking first.  Now she was popping glass balls in and out of his empty socket.  It sure did feel funny!  Before he could get used to the feeling of one, she was trying a different one.  She spoke of the deals she made with people "So you're a demon too, huh?  How is that workin' out for ya?"  He sounded casual- maybe even a little rude, but he really want to make conversation.  He didn't know any demons other than himself.
The whole process with the eye was getting more and more uncomfortable, and Billy finally spoke up about it "Yanno, it's okay," he said "I really don't think I need-"
However she interrupted him, saying that she had found a match, though it was of the wrong color.  She had him blink and, when Billy did so, he found his skull and his eyes felt just the same way they had felt the day before, when he had been just like everyone else.  She told him putting on his eye patch might be a good idea, but he spoke on "Waita minute- dontcha hava mirror I can lookat?  I gotta know what I look like now!"
For the record, the color scheme on his new eye was oddly appropriate for the faller: a white pupil with a red iris in a black sclera.  His eyes had been like this at least once before in his life.   That being said, most people thought of him as human, and this eye most definitely didn't look human.  Ai's suggestion to keep it hidden was well founded.
Even if she couldn't help in that department, Billy was grateful for her help "Boy kid, thanks!  You sure were a friendly face to see even ya don't smile too much," he then flashed his signature shit-eating grin for the first time since arriving here.  He was already feeling like his old self again "I bet I can change that, kid!"  He stood up and ruffled her hair, before he realized "Boy, you might be older than me!  Sorry about calling ya a kid, kid!  Whoops.  There I go again."
"But seriously, anything I can do to give you a hand before I go?"  He'd also need directions back to Gravity Falls.  His friends must be getting worried about him.  How long had he been gone, anyway?

Not many were able to wonder into the crossroads between Heaven, Hell, and Earth without the help of a creature. But it is a possibility if there is a fault in the gates. The area was rather odd… One path of the crossroads was a comforting path, illuminated by birds that flew around holding lanterns. However, the other path lead to a river, the one that flowed around the estate, but this part of the river had a deadly current. It drew one to it with an evil hand. The path one would have come from, was rather plain. It repelled, and voices could be heard over the dead plants. Then, ahead, which is where they were destined to go, was a foggy path, it had little light, but it was the only normal path… Above, was the moon high in the sky, but it had a cursed feeling, and delivered a dark ambiance. Upon going down the foggy path, it all changed.
After crossing a wooden bridge, one would come to a large body of land. It was a farm it seemed, small mountains were behind the plot of land, a hut was present, it resembled the homes from the feudal Ara of Japan. A large Sakura Blossom tree was in front of the house. The large river ran around in powerful ways, giving off a beautiful sound. The sun, it was suspended, ready to begin descending into the night. But it never did leave. Just stay put. There were no animals at all, and the river slowly flowed to a small pond next to the house, it was very shallow, and was made for bathing. Spider Lilly surrounded the house, which made the land rather attractive. Once one was picked, another would immediately grow back to replace the missing one, or if the dew fell off, more would come within eight hours, even though it never rained. As one walked closer, it appeared there were residents.
An old women was making clothes inside, she never walked out, and never needed sleep, and so just sat there. A spider with three eyes on it’s abdomen spun it’s web carefully on the house porch. On that same porch, there were three people. An old hairless man, his main trait was the large red scarf around his neck. And then a young man, who was dressed in, shockingly, present-day clothing, a bit of his black hair in his eyes. And then a woman that seemed to be in her mid 20s, in a rather chest revealing yukataka. They were conversing among themselves, and didn’t seem to notice the newcomer. However, there was one girl there that was by the Sakura Tree. She was pale, had long black hair, red eyes, and was dressed in a black Japanese-School-Girl uniform.
As soon as the other neared, she turned to look at them. Her red eyes piercing them with a dead feeling. Once they got close enough for conversation, she began speaking. “Hello… It’s odd that you’ve come here… My name is Ai Enma… Normally a living morsel would have fled seeing this place.” She spoke in a melancholy tone.

You know, the hooded figures don’t seem to mind Cecil talking about them.
I got to thinking, and you know who else eats pizza, hangs out in dog parks and hates being acknowledged?
TEENAGERS.
