Dunno if asked before or if you said anywhere, but with the amount of amazing content you put out, how do you get inspo? Your characters are very you, they’re very charming and flamboyant (quirky even) so I got curious <:
Honestly, my inspiration usually comes from the conglomerate of random, incoherent thoughts in my head. I usually spin ideas by mashing two unrelated things, like squids or lollipops, and putting them together so that they make sense narratively - tangentially or otherwise. I am also always on the prowl for weird or morbid facts because they make good fodder for Sverenne ideas. I don't really draw a lot of inspiration from fictional media. If anything, I use it as an example of what not to do, because it shows me what has already been done. In my books, the more absurd it will be the better.
In terms of writing characters, their personalities and mannerisms are usually drawn from exaggerated facets of my own (e.g. Zephry represents my tired cynicism, Urok is the humanitarian in me, Izammar is my judgmental snobbery etc.) so it makes sense that you see it that way. It's an oversimplification of how I write because I love giving characters nuance, and behaviours or beliefs that end up being contrary to their initial external appearance. But it's the precept I start with. I'm also a weird, flamboyant and overly dramatic freak in real life, so by default my characters are usually weird, flamboyant freaks. Hey, I don't make the rules-
Lastly, the standard for characterization I hold myself to is Charles Dickens, because I always admired his ability to create unique and goulish caricatures, while also simultaneously humanizing them. I know that there are some writers out there who struggle to make their characters unique, and when they write dialogue it is as if they are talking to themselves. That would be devastating to me :0 I really hope I am not like that.

Evelyn, for the ask!
Weird Facts - part 3
Evelyn (Malignant Remedy)
Evelyn is a gambling addict, but their incessant cheating is what makes their vice so much worse. Their cheating is so notorious within gambling circles that they currently hold the record for the most expulsions from Woxardam's gambling clubs. The current number stands at one hundred and three.
Many a time - after being kicked out for cheating - Evelyn would only return to the club an hour or so later in the borrowed attire from a friend, and with the stolen face of an unwitting passerby - a talent easily exploited by shapeshifters. But of course Evelyn's subtle mannerisms would betray them, they would be recognized, and the process of being kicked out would resume once again.
Evelyn's brazen infiltrations became so commonplace that clubs began expelling innocent club goers on the assumption that they were truly Evelyn.

Izammar for the ask!
Weird Facts - part 2
Izammar (Malignant Remedy)
Extremist Dualdhites were known to punish unruly children by having them kneel on seeds until they dug into their flesh. Growing up, Izammar became quite familiar with that practice, for he typically angered the clerics by asking one too many heretical questions. While genuflect on these seeds, the clerics encouraged him to soak up the pain, for there was nothing quite as visceral as pain that could bring one's mind to the present - a precept based on Dualdhi's tenet of making the most of the here and now.
It was for this reason that Izammar began to embrace self-torture, always pushing the acme of pain for himself. He felt that the more physical pain he could endure, the more easily he could deflect life's tribulations. He also used it as a motivator for his life ambitions.

Dietre, Shauz, and Morchesso pls!!!!
Weird Facts
Dietre (GrímR of Nowither)
Dietre always carries with her the skull of a morgai - one she brought to its death many centuries ago. Day by day, she carves its regenerating tissue to prevent the morgai from resurrecting. She knows they can not hear her, but she talks to the skull as if it were a live person.
Schauz (Malignant Remedy)
Schauz is rumoured to paint portraits of his political opponents using human blood. The former part of the rumour is true, but the blood actually comes from pigs - a surplus product from his family's abattoir. When his political opponents die, he paints over the portraits using regular oils, bringing life to the deceased as a final homage.
Morchesso (Malignant Remedy)
Morchesso finds Woxardam air very arid and irritating to his skin, especially around the city's infamous smoke stacks. As a result, Chess has become accustomed to spending entire mornings moisturizing in his cramped copper tub. After years of mistakenly getting his notes wet, he has finally perfected the art of dry note-taking while in a bath.

I might post excerpts from Zephry’s journal from time to time just cause he’s a neurotic, old weirdo, and I think he’s neat.

I love getting asks. I am as much of a suck for asks as the next person. But if you're that one individual who blocked me, I'd appreciate it if you'd refrain from interacting with me. It is in your best interest to not dwell on the past and focus on your well-being.

Since you've said the tales of Sverenne take place in different eras, I now have a couple of questions regarding Sverenne's timeline:
What is the chronological order of the tales of Sverenne?
Do you plan on implementing time labels like BC and AD, or will you make your own?
Sorry, my timeline is a hot mess, and I pity those who will try to read it. I just want to demonstrate that the storylines overlap and intersect. The chronology is a bit off at the moment and it's missing a ton of information, but I'll fix it over time.
Timeline
The Timeline begins with the murder of Habenumbra and the imprisonment of her father, Hexikutli (a cataclysmic cosmic event that results in the birth of the universe). This is the beginning of the old mythos which revolves around the Old Gods (Habenumbra, Hexikutli, Agah Gubah, El'selsyon, Torq' Torran) and the creation of the ethereal plains, like Dordorel and Udula.
Billions of years later, (roughly -1578 M.H.) GrimR is thrust into the world followed by Achtbenatu's birth a few years later. Achtbenatu's birth marks the beginning of the Triad of Time mythos, and GrimR's "birth" marks the beginning of GrímR's Odyssey. GrimR and Achtbenatu's paths cross on occasion throughout their miserable lives.
Malignant Remedy starts more than 3000 years after the start of the previous two anthologies.
There are other stories or milestones sprinkled here and there that I will divulge another time.
Time Labels
M.H. marks the era of the old gods. It stands for "Mifsik tel Herthsa" in the old language, which means "Growing Void". Or it just stands for "Murder of Habenumbra" for lowbrow folk like me.
T.T. marks the era of no gods. The initial abbreviation stood for the words "Trikza Ter•zéfellos" in the old language which means, "The Age of the Forgotten". To others, it is thought to be abbreviated from the "Triad of Time" - an homage to the period when gods lived among mortals. Religious folk consider T.T. an era of dormancy, and they await the day the gods rise up again.
These are just the religious timestamps. This timeline fails to mention historical eras, such as the Amphien Era, The Levitatus Era, The Sapialic Era, The Novodeos Era and The Industrial Era.

Do you have established heights for the Sverenne characters? If so, what are they?
These heights aren't exactly permanent, cause I'm fickle and I don't like finalizing anything. But these are what they are for now:
Malignant Remedy (minus Poa, because I'm planning to redesign her again.)
GrímR of Nowither
I didn't add the gods, because they are shapeshifters with ever changing heights.
#Sorry for taking forever on this!#I didn't really know the answers myself#I hate height charts cause they all look like shrimp-#malignant remedy#GrimR of Nowither
