WEEK TEN: On this week we started off with Hungarian painter and photographer called Laszlo Moholy-nagy with his design to photography and design combination. Here I could see that people are starting put more weight onto pictures and photographies than words. First it was history of typing instruments: monotype-type caster, linotype, typesetting, lasercomp monophoto 400, cg 7500 compugraphic, 8400 compugraphic, and macintosh classic. Also how these new and changing tools have changes the designs from plain worded books to harmonious photography and typography. The history changed to putting more importance on picture because it obviously catches more attention than book does. I could examin this further through the magazine called "The Face".

WEEK NINE: We further explore into history of desogn through the subtitle "back to the future". First thing it was mentioned on ppt was Bauhaus the German art art school operational from 1919 where they initiated with art than further approached into design. Thet developed graphic, architect, interior and all sorts of design area. Even for myself I know stationaries which are German brands are uncompetitable with any other stationaries around the world. Their designs are famous in any area. Their industrial works are made with perfection and a myriad of different trials in unique design. Then we moved to Jan Tschichold, I could see the history of publication design and typography approaches with he or her work.

WEEKFIVE: As a seperate group we made a phrase containing all 26 alphabets; such as "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog". Our group first explored with given material (wires)...Everyone thought it will be a most hardest material out of other mediums. But it turned out our group was the first one to finish it. We exhibited our work on black surface where the sunlight comes in and with rest of materials we made little animals to decorate. It was very creative and flexible activity. The second task was to creat that phrase with water and a brush on outside surfaces. We first found out that the water dried really fast so we were faces with challenge how to maintain the wet surface and we explimented onto rock, wood and ciment surfaces and later we chose to utilise somewhere shady and concrete.

When I saw our material (wires) all of us thought it will be hard to fabricate a phrase (the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog) but we were the quickest to finish the phrase!!! It was really interesting activity...I like the idea of the black background and the lightsource!

W E E K T W O : Hello, my question is…
Is design crucial in life? Many people would wonder, what if there is no design at all in life? There won’t be designs on the streets and wherever you go. The world would just be… plain. I have thought of using food as my design because I love food and that food has more colour to it. It could make words look more interesting with the attractive colours. Even though some of the food were quite hard to manage because of the size and amount of the food, it was fun making this question.
