The difference between liushen and bingqiu is that if shen yuan transmigrated into a healer, Liu qingge would go "I have to train harder so no one can hurt me. I don't want to add more to shen yuan's workload." Meanwhile Binghe would be going "jumping in front of a carriage so I break all my bones ❤️❤️ two month long stay at the medical ward means maximum time with yuan gege!! ❤️"

so im procrastinating on my work by thinking about scum villain, as one does, and i can't help but think of how much peerless cucumber's internet behavior is fanon. cause iirc, the only perspectives we get of his online behavior is from 1) the unreliable narrator himself (just because he rants about airplane in his head doesn't mean that he actually commented everything that he thought verbatim. remember that this guy is a millennial. i could be wrong about this though, i just dont think he was as crazy as he makes himself out to be), 2) airplane shooting towards the sky. which most of the vitriol we saw between them was from airplane's reaction to his comment, and 3) the actual comments that peerless cucumber made. which actually seem pretty chill and not saying stuff like "this is the most garbage piece of writing i have ever laid my eyes upon." especially because from what we have seen of the way sqq acts around people without the OOC limits, he is probably the kind of person who behaves same online as they do in person. unlike airplane- who canonically only has online friends- who does the opposite (behaves the same in person as he does online).
but anyways. the point that I'm trying to make here is that i think most of us have forgotten which character has the most potential to be a troll online: shen jiu.

Kind of ironic how one of Xie Lian's titles is "The god-pleasing crown prince" when the one thing he does consistently without fail is piss off the Heavenly Emperor.

i realized i had like a subliminal interrupting thought when i originally wrote this post and so instead of “is so important to me” i wrote “is so dead to me”. which is in fact the opposite sentiment from the one i meant to portray.
He’s important guys i need more of imposter syndrome shen yuan
Shen Yuan who has imposter syndrome on multiple levels is so important to me. Shen Yuan who is, for all intents and purposes, an imposter. Shen Yuan who effectively stole both body and identity from Shen Jiu. Shen Yuan who mistakes his theft of Shen Joy’s likeness for theft of his life.
Shen Yuan who doesn’t feel any pride or ownership over his own accomplishments, his own talents, his own strategies, because how much of that is him and how much is leftover muscle memory from Shen Jiu?
Shen Yuan who is unable to see that his sect brothers and sisters regard him highly because of his actions, not because of the person Shen Jiu was.
Anyways i’m not articulating this well and those who see this can feel free to take a stab at trying to find the truth through the word mess I’ve managed to provide here.
Just. Shen Yuan who has no idea to what extent the people around him love and appreciate him for him and not for who he should be.

Can't stop thinking about this dialogue, during the 100 swords scene:
Compared to this dialogue, when Hua Cheng is gently removing a needle from Xie Lian's foot:
Just, the tenderness of it all, after Xie Lian endured so much pain. The permission to cry out if it hurts, compared to having his voice forcibly muffled. It makes me cry whenever I think about it.

can we talk about how feng xin and mu qing ascended at 25+ but xie lian did at 17. can we talk about how when they next saw each other 800 years later after their fallout feng xin and mu qing looked older, more mature, more grown up than xie lian remembered but when they looked at him he still looked exactly as they remembered. he still looked so young compared to them. they had changed so much. he hadn't. can we talk about that.
