I’m not really a #sportsball person. Growing up in Ohio, I was surrounded by football, but spent more time at the skatepark. Ironically, my path has led me back to football and I’ve spent the last year fully immersed in #footballhelmets. I have been the lead design engineer working on these custom fit #3dprinted helmets. Using generative and algorithmic design, advanced material development and production ready hardware solutions, we developed a new product to improve player protection. Concept to final product in under a year. @carbon @riddellsports . . . . . . . #innovation #helmet #football #footballhelmet #Superbowl #sports #generativedesign #algorithmicdesign #grasshopper3d #design #engineering #carbon #riddell #ProtectItAll https://www.instagram.com/p/BtWTuwMBoRh/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=174ood5zrm0vj

MC Escher
Although Escher did not have mathematical training—his understanding of mathematics was largely visual and intuitive—his art had a strong mathematical component, and several of the worlds which he drew were built around impossible objects.
Escher was also fascinated by mathematical objects like the Möbius strip, which has only one surface. His wood engraving Möbius Strip II (1963) depicts a chain of ants marching for ever around over what at any one place are the two opposite faces of the object—which are seen on inspection to be parts of the strip’s single surface. In Escher’s own words
An endless ring-shaped band usually has two distinct surfaces, one inside and one outside. Yet on this strip nine red ants crawl after each other and travel the front side as well as the reverse side. Therefore the strip has only one surface.

Another collar with @fermarcht 8"x8" watercolor and ink. Took this on vacation with us a few weeks ago and finished it before returning. It's a good feeling when you commit and follow through with things. Still got a bit of work to do on the big canvas though!

Me: "Luca, everything you see inside this fence is your kingdom." Luca: "aaah aah aaaah" then giggles and flaps his arms with excitement. So happy to share some pics of our piece of land we bought in Catapilco, Chile! Can't wait to start building our #earthship here. (at Catapilco, Valparaiso, Chile)

Up close shot of my #3dprinted skate wheels! Using a Fibonacci pattern, I designed them to be light, and of course rad.
