my top 3 favorite rod serling facts are that 1) he enlisted for ww2 bc he wanted to fight hitler but he got assigned to go to the philippines and he hated it so he decided to just be bad at war (including simply refusing to refill his magazine during an active firefight and "leaving camp, against orders, and getting lost"), 2) he tested parachutes professionally to pay for college, 3) his wife wouldn't date him at first bc he had a promiscuous reputation

thinkin about a baby of my acquaintance & how when her parents are hanging out & chatting, she’ll almost fully participate in the conversation–politely watching who’s talking, saying something approx the same length & tone of what her parents are saying, occasionally using a questioning cadence & looking at someone specific for an answer, laughing when they laugh–doing everything except actually using any recognizable language
