#the way they changed this scene in the film (just a little but still significant!!!) drives me bonkers#PARTICULARLY with the knowledge that they had initially intended to include the 'elphaba's promise' deleted scene#because in the musical the joke where glinda says she thinks about that day constantly works as joke because we know she actually doesn't#IN THE MOVIE THOUGH#the deleted scene tells us that she does.. but like in reference to elphaba picking fiyero over her and being jealous#which then makes the name-changed more layered than her just trying to win back a 'moodified' fiyero#the way the film also has glinda less distressed over fiyero than her musical counterpart is inch resting like in the musical she cries#leading elphaba to invite her along#but in the film elphaba invites her along because glinda's note brings out emotions about their friendship#also agreed with the tweet caption i understand the impulse to resolve the discomfort of the triangle but with glinda i just Do Not See It#also the conflict is fun!!!#like i know glinda's selfishness is a flaw but like... i feel like a throuple arrangement tries to 'fix' that too in a way i don't care for#like i'm sure people do interesting things with it in fan content but i like destructively selfish glinda a lot#i also probably have some gay bias but i am not interested in what fiyero brings to the dynamic in the musical#anyway!#gelphie#wicked
