i put him in the adlers he loved ushijima

so, it's extremely common for volleyball players to switch around teams on a very regular basis (contracts usually last for only 1 or 2 years so it's way more common for them to change teams than stay for many years in a single team). but i never see the hq fandom playing around with that

like maybe there was a year where sakusa and ushijima played together, or maybe at some point suna aran and atsumu were all jackals. maybe yaku was a jackal with them! maybe bokuto spent a season in brasil playing with shoyo over there! maybe hoshiumi played against kageyama in italy! the possibilities are endless and it's really fun to think about idk idk

some of my nekoma college au headcanons (set in an american style university because truly what do i know about any other college experience)

Majors:

yaku: mechanical engineering

I chose mech e canonically he's a good student but he's also very hands on (his engineering friends keep trying to convince him to switch to package engineering)

Also i have a very specific vision of yaku and his engineer ring upon graduating

kuroo: finance (goated at networking so doing well)

lev: finance (failed his placement test so he's taking college algebra)

he facetimed kuroo after taking it and kuroo was genuinely at a loss for words when he saw his score and placement

like kuroos a bit distressed bcs now lev is like three semesters of math behind a regular first year bcs calc1 is usually a prerequisite for a lot of business major classes

and then lev fucking fails college algebra first semester and no one knows what to do about it

kenma: computer science

Living arrangements:

Kenma dorms. He doesn't have the will nor energy to commute every day so he lives in an on-campus apartment.

Kuroo and Yaku got an off-campus apartment with their own rooms. While apartment-hunting they both agreed that their friendship wouldn't last sharing a bedroom.

Lev lives in a first-year dorm he shares with a random roommate who purchased a pair of noise cancelling headphones after living with him for a week

Transportation

People who own cars: Lev and Kuroo

Lev was gifted his car by his parents when he was accepted into University

Kuroo is still furiously trying to pay his car off

Yaku doesnt have a need for a car because hes pretty good at walking or using public transportation to get where he wants to go

Either that or he just drives Kuroo's car because he trusts him enough

He has his car keys hanging on a hook by the wall which Yaku liberally borrows if Kuroo doesn't need it

Kuroo has no idea how Lev passed his driver's test and passionately backseat drives whenever Lev is behind the wheel

He retaught Lev how to parallel park after an incident in which Kuroo had to switch seats with Lev to park his car for him

Its endlessly funny to Lev whenever Yaku drives his car there's a full minute of seat and mirror adjusting

he also does that short girl thing where you lean all the way forward to the wheel to see out the side window properly which Kuroo imitates from the passenger seat

Yaku worked as a barista for a short time in his second year.

He quit pretty soon, lol.

He can't do custermer service. People can be so idiotic, and it drives him INSANE. There's only so many ways he can explain to somebody that they are out of Carmel syrup.
