Hello! I saw earlier that you said that the new chapter said that Albert had OCD, and I'm curious to hear what your thoughts are on it. I know yuumori said before that Albert really liked cleanliness and order (I believe in chapter 2?) but are there other situations where Albert exhibits some of the other symptoms?

I have! A lot of stuff to talk about this! Coming once I have time to properly sort through it and write about it! I haven't yet since it's so recent, but maybe next week? It will involve a lot of things about Albert and where this came from in the past.

For now, for people who haven't been able to read the latest chapter yet, here's why I say Albert has OCD:

Albert talks about how much he hates things that are out of place and disordered and that they cause "distortions" on the ideal world.

We see him doing things like picking up OG William's toys because it bothers him so deeply to see them messy and he's compelled to fix it.

He does not let anyone into his childhood bedroom to clean it because they might mess it up (and also because they're doing it because they want to be in good with someone of high status, not because they like him).

Albert starts talking about how much he hates the inequality of the world because under God everyone is supposed to be equal so why isn't the world equal, why won't people let it be equal and is visibly angry and distressed at every reminder that the world is not the ideal world he's been preached to about and genuinely believes is ideal.

Albert tries to do the Turn The Other Cheek thing and help out a poor criminal. This goes terribly and he is so upset at his inability to fix things himself that he almost kills himself.

Albert is very focused on things Being A Certain Way because that Is the Way They Should Be, and he is visibly distressed when things don't match up with it and he is desperately compelled to fix it because it makes him so uncomfortable.

If you are familiar with OCD, you will recognize this as exactly the defining features of OCD.

(so, yeah, we have seen the symptoms manifest before, we just didn’t recognize them for what they were back then)
