What it's like to have bulimia after seven months:

Your throat is sore. Every day.

Your face is swollen.

You hate yourself even more.

The pain never ends.

You have headaches.

Youre so weak you can hardly do anything.

Your self esteem lowers even more.

You can’t sleep until 8am.

You’ll purge in the shower but then it won’t all drain so you have to scoop it out with your hands to put it in the trash.

It becomes your worst secret.

It interferes with your relationships.

Your family gets suspicious.

When you purge you get so weak you can hardly stand. Snot sill be running from your nose, tears from your extremely red eyes.

Your electrolyte levels will probably be dangerously low, and its possible you could get a heart attack and die.

Every night you’re afraid to sleep, paranoid that you’ll have that heart attack and die in your sleep.

You’ll try to exercise no matter how weak and sick you are.

You won’t go out to eat with your friends and family, and if you do, you have extreme anxiety the whole time.

Your skin will be dry. Your hair will fall out.

Your knuckles will be scratched and cut from your teeth.

Your teeth will rot.

You’ll get stomach ulcers.

Your stomach might rip open from binging after restricting. Yes, this is an actual thing.

Your body will be bruised.

Your esophagus will have acid burns.

You lose all self control even though its the one thing you want. Your eating disorder takes over you.

Your nails will crack.

You’ll desperately try to find places and times to purge.

The toilet will back up and you won’t know what to do.

You’ll throw up blood.

Your nose will bleed.

Youll lose weight, and then gain it all back within days.

You’ll purge even when you’re sick.

You have to face the embarrassment of leaving to go to the bathroom after every time you eat and you’ll come back to your friends/family with teary red eyes, and you hope to God you didn’t miss any vomit that was on your face/shirt.

You’ll hate yourself even more for eating than you did before.

And the worst part is, despite all of this, you can’t stop.
