NGL it’s hard to take criticisms of Rachel seriously when they’re most often lobbed against by stans of characters like Santana who, regardless of popularity and my love for her, were objectively worse people and openly bigoted and got away with it for being hot. Rachel isn’t perfect but she’s not even in the top 10 of “worst” people on the show. She gets smoke mostly tbh because she was the lead and because of her less than desirable portrayer. 🤷‍♂️

yeah don’t get me wrong i love santana but she really wasn’t a great person most of the time. and just like in rachels case i am willing to blame most of that on bad writing but that doesn’t take away from the fact that in canon santana was often needlessly rude and sometimes just downright cruel to the people around her and even her friends

and i really don’t like how all of santanas behavior gets excused and even supported just because she’s hot while other characters who have done way less worse things get treated like they’re the worst person alive while all their actions are twisted to make them look even worse

and like you don’t have to like rachel. i don’t care if someone loves santana and can’t stand rachel. but i just really dislike the way most of the fandom treats rachel (and in some cases even the people who like her). if you don’t like rachel thats fine but i just don’t get why everyone seems so intent on constantly proving how much of a terrible person she is
