Hey, y’all, I’m not dead. Thank you for your outpouring of concern and love and well wishes for the last two years. I have seen it from time to time but have never really known what to say or how to fully express my gratitude and appreciation for how loving and awesome you all are.

As many of you know, I have been virtually disappeared from the face of the earth (at least on this account) for 2 years now.

Between personal and professional shifts as well as quite a bit of familial crises occurring one after the other it seems, my motivation and “spark” that struck in me while first writing Gateway Drug and the years to follow writing it, has dwindled. I hate that I feel this way, I hate that I’ve put it off this long discussing it. In all honesty, the last several chapters of the story could have been better but I was already partially out of writing it while posting the most recent chapters of it back in 2022. I do plan to finish it in a way that will not call for another 100+ chapters (if I’m being honest I believe that’s partly to blame for my burn out from the story, and wanted to be thorough and ended up being a little too thorough), but also in a way that doesn’t seem rushed. I’m trying to figure out how to do so in order to officially close this chapter.

The internal issues of Motley as a whole right now as well as writing the same characters for 100+ chapters in what feels like a never ending story of my own making, has burnt me out, to put it bluntly. And I hate that it has, but that’s the truth.

How do the kids find out that their mom has been arrested a few times? Like a mugshot on the internet?

As they get older they get a lot of the “my parents said your parents are crazy” type comments and eventually Viv has to address it
