Betty and I have been next-door neighbours since we were four. We’ve always gone to the same school, been in the same class. I remember in the second grade, I was having trouble reading, and my teacher, Mrs. Gribrock, told my mom and dad that I should stay back a year to get caught up. Betty was so against us not being in the same grade that she took it upon herself to tutor me every single day. In the second grade? Yeah. Anyway, when I passed, thanks to Betty… I kissed her and asked her to marry me. Aww. She was like like, “Oh, little Archie, we’re too young. Ask me again when we’re eighteen and I’ll say yes.”

As a female spoke, Archie diverted his gaze up with a soft smile stretched across the line of his lips. “ You mean my phone? ” His eyebrows curved, with perplexity apparent across his features. Multiple thoughts cycled through his mind rapidly, but Archie kept most of them to his self. He held his gaze on her for a prolonged moment before proceeding with a further remark. “ How don’t you know what this is?” Curiosity peaking through his voice, with a slight shrug. “You can talk to people on it. It distance not so hard.” With the words leaving, immediately
Archie thought of his parents especially his dad. He desperately hoped Fred didn’t think he left him behind. Very often Archie tried to reach out to his father but it was futile. His smile faded slightly, but Archie kept his eyes on the fame briefly, before motioned his hand towards the empty chair in front of him. “ The seat is free.” he words left his mouth in a casual tone. “ I will show you how it works if you want. Hell, I will even give you my number, so it’s the first one you have whenever you chose to update modern technology” A light laugh sailed from his throat. “ I’m Archie.”
@xlionheartxstud
Madi stared at the object infront of her confused, and lost. She’d never seen anything like it before. “Okay, what the actual hell is this?”

Archie’s eyebrow lifted in confusion, with his hues holding their glance on Ronnie. With moments passing, he slid out of the booth and walked over to the other side, skidding next to the female. “ Hey” The corner of Archie’s mouth curled into a narrow smile, with a lingering gaze on her. Inching closer to the female, Archie placed the palm of his hand on Veronica’s kneecap under the table. He began to gently rub the tip of his fingers against her skin softly. Warm jitters sparked at his nerves. “ I don’t know what your talking about. We haven't really discussed the whole Betty thing but none of that matters right now” The words fell from the brim of his mouth softly. Archie was conflicted with his feeling for both girls, but he wasn’t going to hurt them, regardless of what he felt. If he had to, he’d hide away whatever he felt for Betty. It was for the best, she was with Jughead and Archie with Veronica. As Betty had said once, the way it was suppose to be. Maybe she was right.
“ i missed you and I meant what I said. I love you.” The honest words slid from the male’s mouth, as he inched closer to her. “ You don’t have to say it if you don’t want but I just want you to know, that is still true for me. “ Archie’s smile’s remained curled between both corners of his mouth. Extending his other arm out, his two index fingers lightly brushed against the lateral of Veronica’s cheek, bushing a few strands of her black hair behind her ear. Learning in closer, the rim of Archie’s lips cupped Veronica’s. The taste of her breath was warm and still as inviting as it had been from the moment they kissed last year. With his other hand on her knee, Archie ran his fingers up to the female’s waist, and rested it there for a moment. Archie’s kissed her with grew more intense,as her breath gusted through his mouth.
Heated sparks slide through his skin fluidly. As moments passed, Archie reluctantly pulled his lips away from Veronica, even though he had a strong desire to continue. A wide smirk curved between both crooks of his mouth. “I’m pretty sure that’s better than any milkshake here” The teasing response parted from his mouth in an amicable tone. Somedays Archie would miss Riverdale, but then thought of his dreams and was reminded of the nightmare. His dad was there and Archie would do anything to be able to go back to see him, but Blackhood wasn’t here. Archie was no longer in constant worry of his friend being tortured, other the poison scare. Trutfully was not had half being away, especially with most of his friends in DC .
She’d like to think that was true. She honestly did, she held a special place in her heart for him, cheesy as that might sound for the girl often eloquent in speech. But both of them had lied to one another before, and that especial moment, she had her guards up, the girl was never so open hearted, and she could hold her defences if necessary. A hand running through her smooth locks, she gave a brief acknowledgment of his words, a reluctant turn of a smile piercing her for a moment, shoulders shrugging back lightly. “Disappear? If by that you mean arrested by the whole school” Eyes swishing bluntly to him, a hard gaze directed to the male, lips tugging open with burgeoning confusion at his words, there was no explanation for that situation that he could give, they had all witnessed those events.
“The…Kiss? Can’t remember any particularly stunning ones we’ve had of late… Unless” At first, she’d moved into a laugh, the assumption being that he meant one of their many ones, the Barchie one still lingered in her memory, a bitter tinge that she hadn’t been at all overjoyed with, but that was in the past, a memory they didn’t need to dredge up again. “You mean you and Betty” Veronica finally let the words settle over the conversation, a sigh parting from her at the heavy air, the tension tangible. “We moved past that, remember? Definitely made it even” Not quite. One kiss could never cover up another.
There had been horrors lurking in their small town, something akin to a situation in one of those crime novels she used to leaf through. Some of that horror, corruption, had even been rooted in her own family, her father to be specific, his morals were a murky darkness. She’d once had that come between too much in her own life, but eventually she knew the true importance of those to trust, the true people she should trust were not blood. But they were the people she turned to, and felt a love for, the core four who shared too many milkshakes with one another, one too many kisses with those who happened to not be the one they were dating.

As Archie’s face was buried into both palms of his hands, a small exhale of air split narrowly from both brims of his mouth. The thought of the hell he had been in as of recent sat in his mind. Somedays Archie would miss Riverdale, but then through his dreams was reminded of the nightmare. Whenever he tries to sleep, Archie is taken back to the day in Pops, the day he almost lost his dad. He can still feel his body cave in fear at the memory of the gunshot. His eyes became transfixed on the black hood walking into the diner. Anxiety still hits at every nerve in his body, with fear taking over him. It has been several months but he is eternally scared, and the regret of doing nothing but kneeling frozen, angers him.
Very often Archie tries to reach out to his father but it is futile. If there is one person he misses more than anyone, it is his dad. Archie could use his dad’s advice on the complication his life has become, even here in his new life. With Betty and Veronica both in DC, Archie is conflicted over his feelings. For the past months he has been unsure how he felt about Ronnie, especially since his kiss with Betty, a kiss he stayed up too long thinking about, and almost wishing lasted longer. Despite that truth, he still can not not deny how good Ronnie and him were together. Seeing both of them here, makes it no easier. As he leaned into the glass of water sitting at the edge of the table, the top rim of Archie’s lips cupped the tip of his straw. Chilled liquid glided down his throat slowly
With hearing someone speak, Archie pushed his glass away and diverted his glance up towards the female in a bleak glance. “ I’m sorry, what?” The words fell from his mouth quietly. “You’re offering me food?” His eyebrows lifted then scrunched into confusion “ No,I can’t take that” His hues dropped back down to the glass of water, with melted ice, gazing at it for an extended moment.“ If I get hungry I’ll go to my apartment” A soft smile curled between both corners of his mouth. As moments passed, Archie motioned his hand towards the empty chair in front of him “ You can have a seat if you want”
{ @xlionheartxstud }
Felicity Smoak had plenty of guilty pleasures – she liked eating mint chocolate chip ice cream and red wine, at the same time. She could dance all around her old apartment without a care, and sing her heart out old 80s tunes. She liked watching foreign soap operas, original language with subtitles. She liked watching Charlie as he worked on his plants, it relaxed her for some reason and she felt like she belonged. She absolutely loved a cup of coffee as soon as she was up, needing caffeine to start the day if she wanted to be in any way functional. But there was something she adored, and it wasn’t the secret she would share with anyone really, as she hadn’t. Felicity Smoak was a stress eater. Anyone who had paid any attention to her long enough could have figured it out, but it wasn’t something she went around telling people.
It was ridiculous, but she felt like something bad was about to happen. She felt anxious, jumpy even, and she didn’t want to spend time with people. She just wanted to sit on that bench for as long as she could, with her burger with fries and a nice vanilla milkshake. And so she was stuffing her face, because there was no other way to explain it, staring at some boy that seemed someone had kicked his puppy. Sadness, she knew it all too well. Loneliness and Felicity had a friendship not many would understand.
And that boy. Well, he reminded her of Finnick, and the weight in her heart became heavy. Suddenly, her stomach clenched painfully and food wasn’t what she really needed at the moment. But she wasn’t going to go there, not yet, she wasn’t ready to admit it. “You know, I have another burger here if you want to eat. Not that you can’t buy your own burger, I suppose you can. It’s not like I’m trying to tell you what to do, it’s just a suggestion. I mean, everything is better with a full stomach. I even have another milkshake. I got enough food for an army, but I don’t mind sharing. If you want, of course. If you don’t, please ignore me. It’s lunchtime. I think. I’m not sure anymore, actually. But you can have it.”

With his feet halting suddenly, Archie’s hues widened in fear at the female’s blues eyes. His heart thudded rapidly, with small pants leaving his lips. Archie’s feet went immobile. For a brief moment he could feel his body cave in, while remembering the week the poison hit the city of DC. It was filled with people killing rampantly, more like monsters than anything. Most of them had flaming colored eyes, like the one now standing before him.
After a moment passed, Archie unsteadily took a step back. He swallowed thickly, thinking of the best way to get out of this. Anxiety gliding through his body, with fear taking over. It had been months ago, but the traumatizing events still lived in his memory. “ Okay, that’s fine’ The words left Archie’s mouth in a jittery tone of voice. Riverdale was a lot of things, but he still felt safer there than DC, which said enough

Malia frowned when she looked in the mirror, noticing that she had bright blue, glowing eyes. She hadn’t seen her eyes do this in a long time and it was bothering her. What kind of crazy stuff is this? Sighing softly, she blinked but her eyes were still glowing. “Um, hold on please.” She told the person knocking on the bathroom door, trying to get her eyes to go back to normal before coming out of the room. “Sorry.’ She said softly before rubbing the back of her neck. “My eyes were dry or something but I think they are good now.”

❛ archie ? ❜ his tone was filled with inquiry & curiosity . what were the chances of jughead seeing so many familiar faces from riverdale within the span of a few hours ? there were influxes of new people here every day , but that didn’t raise question with jughead —— this was an important city . ❛ hey , wow , it’s been quite a while , huh , ❜ he chuckled . a while was an understatement , as it’d been years now . even so , he’d recognize that mop of red hair anywhere . he’d left riverdale behind so long ago ( or so he believed ) ; it wasn’t easy , but he’d grown accustomed to this new life —— but now , people he used to know were showing up . ❛ how’re you doing , arch ? what’re you doing here ? ❜
@xlionheartxstud ♡’d !
A hushed laugh slid from Archie’s lips, with his hues holding an amicable glance on his old friend. Archie hoped Betty knew Jughead was here, then maybe everything would go back to the way it was suppose to be. He tried to tell himself that, despite not truly desiring for it to. “ It hasn’t been that long ” With the words leaving, he paused before proceeding further with another remark. “ Just Christmas” This past year could be compared to a turbulent rollercoaster for all four of them.
If they weren’t trying to determine Jason Blossom’s murder, they were chasing after Blackhood or stopping Jughead from doing something stupid with the Serpants, which would wind up getting him in jail or worse killed. Everyone Archie cared about had been hurt to some extent, and he was tired of it. For that reason he went on vacation to DC months back, not realizing this city was worse than Riverdale.” It’s a crazy story.“ He shrugged slightly, before placing a fry in his mouth.

Hearing Archie tell the blonde that he did love her made her smile a little bit but she knew that wasn’t the way she was talking about. This was the second time that she was asking him this stupid question and it was again the same exact result. Why did she even bother asking him? Why did she put herself out there again only to get her heart shattered in a million pieces? And why would she have this conversation with him in a city where she didn’t even know? “That’s not how I meant it, Archie. I know you love me. I’m your best friend. But I meant in a do you have feelings for me kind of love and you know that. I should have never brought this up because you love Veronica, right? That’s how it’s supposed to be…”, her voice trailed off, breaking with every word she spoke. She didn’t think she was being selfish. All she wanted to know was if he did actually love her in the way that she wanted.
She was attempting to walk away from him because Betty couldn’t stop the tears from falling from her eyes. It was hard to just stand there and listen to the person that you loved tell you that he didn’t want anything more than just friendship. She understood what he was coming from but he had to also understand that she couldn’t keep hurting in the way that she was. “I get it, Arch. You want us to keep being best friends but I can’t do that right now. Friendship may be enough for you but I love you. I love you, can you understand that? My feelings for you go beyond friendship and I get it, you don’t feel the same way. But I can’t just stay here and pretend that everything is okay when I know my heart is breaking.” She had to be honest with him, she had to let him know where she stood. “I’ll always be your friend and I’ll always be here for you but I can’t be what you want me to be right now. Just please try to understand that.”
The more she heard him talk, the more she really wanted to leave. She already knew that he loved Veronica and just hearing it over and over again was killing her. “I shouldn’t have kissed you. That was my stupid mistake. And I do love Jughead but what that kiss made me realize was that I love you. That I’ve always been in love with you. I don’t want to hurt Jug either but I can’t be with him knowing how I feel about you. And maybe you’re okay with pushing your feelings aside to make Veronica happy but I won’t do that.” Betty knew Archie felt something for her and he was just choosing to ignore it just because he wanted to make other people happy. “Just a moment, Arch? You’re telling me that you didn’t feel anything else? If that’s how you feel, then okay. But it’s not how I feel and I think I should just be alone. From you, from Jug, from Veronica, from everyone.” She didn’t like this. She didn’t want to stop talking to Archie but what other choice did she have?
“ I don’t know how to answer what your asking me Betty” Listening to the continuation of Betty’s heartbreak, another defeated exhale of air skidded between both brims of Archie’s mouth.“ Why does this have to keep coming back to me and Ronnie? ” The words fell in a defeated tone. Archie wasn’t sure how many times they’d have to go through this. His heart was slowly dropping at the thought of being the cause of Betty’s pain. Betty had been through enough in the last year, especially with BlackHood and Archie certainly did not want to add to it.“ I never wanted to hurt you.” A sadden expression filled his hues. With his hand still holding onto Betty’s marginally, Archie tried to pull her closer to him.“ Remember when I went on stage to sing for the first time? It was scary and I almost convinced myself not to do it. That was until Ronnie said think of someone that makes you feel safe.” Pursuing his lips out, Archie diverted his gaze down to Betty’s . “You want to know who I thought of?” His words paused, before proceeding further. “ It was you.“
“ I know you’re hurt because I can’t give you what you want, and that kills me.” Archie took a step closer to Betty.“ But just tell me what to do.” He spoke with a heavy heart, as his fingers traced across Betty’s thumb. Archie lowered his eyes on her lips briefly, before moving his glance back up towards her green hues. For an extended moment, he held a lingering gaze on Betty. Her delicate features were nearly impossible not to become captivated by. No words were spoken, instead stillness filled the air between the two. Coiling his lips into an oval, another exhale slid from his mouth. “ Maybe a part of me always had this child’s idea we’d grow up and marry like you said we would as kids” As the words left, the crook of Archie’s mouth lifted, with a hushed laugh departing, Archie’s eyebrows then squinted into a distressed frown. “ But we grow up. It’s not that simple. I can’t be that guy. I can’t be that person that goes with his girlfriend’s friend or even his brother’s girl, even if you are unsure about you two.”
Averting his gaze away once more from Betty, Archie stared at the guitar case, angled on the bench. “ You don’t have to talk to me, just let me walk with you, at least make sure you’re alright until you get inside” As he spoke with concern, Archie lifted his glance back up towards the female. “ You haven’t been here as long as I have Betty. It’s Riverdale; but worse. A couple months back the town kind of turned into a death trap. I’m not going to let anything happen to you, especially if your still new ” Determination was present in his voice. A part of Archie was just making an excuse to stay with her longer, in hopes they could bury this and finally move forward. Although Archie never would admit it out lout, a larger part of him didn’t want it to be buried, but he knew he couldn’t go there, even if he desired it out of his own selfishness.

the--girlnextdoor:
Here we go. Why are you so stupid Betty? Why would you bring that up only to get your heart shattered again? Of course Archie didn’t love her in that way. He didn’t have feelings for her. He loved her best friend and their kiss was something that just happened in the heat of the moment and nothing more. She did this to herself again. She broke her own heart by asking her best friend about the kiss. Did she really expect him to react differently? Did she really expect him to say that he loved her and that he wanted to be with her? And that being away from her killed him just as much as it killed her? It was killing her inside because she was so in love with him and she knew he didn’t feel the same way, instead he fell in love with her best friend. But she had to call him out on it otherwise she would never get it off of her chest.
“So you’re going to tell me that you don’t love me, Archie? You don’t feel ANYTHING at all for me other than friendship? Is that what you’re telling me?”, Betty responded with tears in her eyes. She didn’t want to show this vulnerable side to her that only he could bring out in her. But she couldn’t help it. “I said that because I thought that’s what was best for both of us. You’re dating Veronica and I’m with Jughead but I can’t just hide my feelings because I’m afraid of what it will do to them and to us.” She couldn’t believe how all of this was coming out and she didn’t stop once. Was she really confessing her feelings for him? And was she really prepared to break it off with Jughead and ruin her friendship with Veronica? “You’re telling me that the kiss was nothing, Arch? Tell me that it didn’t mean anything to you and I will never bring up the kiss again. Just tell me that please…”, she continued, her voice breaking.
Betty couldn’t answer him anymore. He was talking and asking her if she had eaten and she couldn’t bring herself to talk because all she wanted to do was cry. She was going to break down right in front of her best friend but in the moment, she didn’t care. She was way too upset and he was making it worse by what he was telling her. Maybe he was right. He was with Veronica and she was with Jughead and he was right, that’s how it was supposed to be.”You know what?”, she finally spoke, wiping away her tears. “I’m going home. Wherever that is. I can’t be here right now.” She couldn’t stay and be happy best friends with him when inside her heart was breaking and there was nothing she or he could do to fix it.
With the tears forming in Betty's eyes, Archie’s heart shattered into pieces. His hues held a doleful and saddened expression, as he listened to Betty once again confess her feelings for him. A soft exhale of air split from his mouth. This is exactly what Archie had been trying to avoid. “ Of course I love you Betty, I told you I will always love you.” The words departed from his lips in a broken tone. Betty wasn’t just his friend, she was his best friend. The person who had been through every good and bad thing in his life since they were kids. He’d never want anyone to hurt her, especially him, although it seemed he was always the one doing it and that killed him. At the question of the kiss, he froze, uncertain of how to even answer this. Truthfully Archie didn’t know, and even if he did, Archie couldn’t just think about her, there was Ronnie and Jughead’s feelings he had to take into consideration as well. He loved all three of them and just wanted everything to be okay.
At the mention of Betty going home, Archie quickly jumped up. His guitar case stumbled off the bench, with his swift moments hauling closer to Betty. He reached his arm out towards her and lightly grabbed her wrist with his left hand, in attempt to stop Betty from leaving. “ Wait Betty” Desperation fell from his lips. “ Why can’t friendship just be enough? Sometimes it’s better that way” Archie immediately stopped himself when he processed what he just said. “ No, I didn’t mean it like that.” The words rushed out quickly, as he shook his head in disagreement at even himself. “ We’re best friends Betty. We’ve been in the same class forever. I walk you to school. You were the one who really understood what I was going through when my dad got shot. I can tell you anything, I think that is great, don’t you?”
Another sigh fell from Archie’s lips. His hues diverted their glance down for a split second before returning his attention back to the female. Archie paused for a brief moment, and then proceeded further with his his remarks. “ I don’t know what that kiss meant, all I know is I love Ronnie and you love Jughead. You are really good for each other, don’t let me be the reason you ruin that.” Archie’s thumb began lightly brushing agains’t Betty’s soft and warm skin. “ I can’t hurt them like that Betty. Even if if I felt something in the moment. It was a moment and was great but Jughead is my brother, and he loves you. He really loves you. Don’t put me in that position please.” Archie’s voice cracked, as plead further. “ I love you so much, just trust me on that please.” There words departed from his lips in despair, as Archie’s irides began to fade to red.

A grin stretched across the line of Archie’s lips, at the return compliment from Veronica." There is always a booth waiting for you” The words departed from his lips in a genuine tone. For the past months, Archie had been unsure how he felt about Ronnie, especially since his kiss with Betty, a kiss he stayed up too long thinking about, and almost wishing lasted longer. But moments like this, being alone with Ronnie, reminded him why they worked so well. Archie held an ardent gaze on the female, as she slid into the booth. He leaned his chest in forward, placing both of his arms in front of him, with his chin resting itself on his wrist. A muted exhale of air split from Archie’s mouth. “ I know I kind of disappeared during break and I’m sorry about that. Just let me explain” He insisted in a concerned tone of voice.
“ I didn’t leave because of the kiss Ronnie. That night was just crazy and I wanted to get away from it all. Blackhood, Jason’s murder and all that, but this place is weird. I tried going back home but it wouldn’t let me” For a brief moment, Archie paused with a slight laugh splitting from both brims of his mouth, as his hues widened.“ I know it sounds crazy but I swear I’m telling you the truth” Archie leaned into his straw, taking another large sip of the milkshake. After a few moments passed, he pulled away, with another smile curling between both crooks of the his mouth. “These really aren’t bad.” The words floated from his lips in a casual tone, as he leaned his back against the booth, but kept his glance on the female.
Archie’s memories of his relationship with Veronica began to circle through his memories. Some good, some bad, others just complicated, but he wouldn’t trade it for anything. As those reminiscing feelings faded, Archie thought about his conversation with Betty he had only hours prior. She wanted to talk about the kiss, the kiss he had been trying to avoid speaking of at all aspects, but seemed to be failing at. The last thing he wanted to do was hurt Betty, he had done it once before when realizing he was a little more into Ronnie than he expected. A part of him knew there are unresolved feelings for both girls, there was no denying that, but if Archie continued on this path, they would both get hurt, including Judhead and he couldn’t do that to any of his friends. Maybe being single was best option for him at the moment.
Alright. A casual word to sling out in forced conversation, a platitude to sate the social norms. Was Veronica alright, ice blooded Veronica who could sweep herself through any conversation with ease? For once, the girl who always had an answer, always on top of her mind, found the one that could usually be answered by a quick yes or no, to be a struggle of thought waging a war in her mind. She supposedly had it all, once upon a time…The rich father who gave her luxurious gifts…The looks that could carry her through too many situations…A life that had developed into what could’ve been a beautiful small town one, complete with the ideal of a man by her side. Riverdale was the sort of town where everything shattered though, and Washington emphasised the breakage anymore. She should’ve been a phoenix rising from the ashes, but only more hurt was intended on her. “My life here dictates that I should be… But I’m not so sure” She confessed, she often felt she could hold honesty around him, though that feeling had dimmed at times, like after hearing about that damned kiss.
Betty was the one who was told she had a genetic darkness, but sometimes Veronica felt she was the real shadow across them. She could light up a room with her excitement, the whirlwind of life she could spring into situations, but Betty had always truly been the sweet one, candyfloss fairground fun. She was the sharp and sour one, it was second nature to her. A brow gracefully raising in an arched motion at his words, it was hardly an enthusiastic motion, like stiff words only spoken because they were expected. “Nice to know that there’s still a booth waiting for me, even here” A nonchalant slick of her lips, signature tilt of a smile breaching her face, she slipped in, manicured nails tapping against the table for a moment.
Vanity from others words didn’t come easily to her, she was accustomed to here the comments, some of them tempting her to turn back around and stick a high heel at them, see how they like it when a girl did that. Still, a reluctant nod in acceptance rose from her, head ducking lightly, half a shrug of shoulders as to suggest she was used to hearing them, that she knew they were justly earned. At this moment in time, it sounded wrong coming from him, but she took it nonetheless. “You’re not looking so bad yourself” He never really did look so awful, there was a reason he caught the eye of so many girls at a mere first glance. She counted herself lucky when she was the one to win him over…Now though, she wasn’t so sure.

Should she just bring up their kiss and get it over with? She wanted to ask him why he kissed her back, she wanted to know so desperately but what if it was all for nothing? What if she asked him and he told her something that again she didn’t want to hear? It would just break her heart all over again and that wasn’t something Betty Cooper was ready for. But something inside of her wouldn’t let her forget it. She couldn’t forget the fact that she was so in love with her best friend and as bad as that sounded, it felt so right to her. Being in love wasn’t something bad, it was good and if Archie Andrews was the person that she was in love with, then she was going to follow her heart. Of course Veronica and Jughead were going to get hurt but it was better that they knew the truth now than to get badly hurt later.
It was going to kill Betty to break things off with Jughead, she was already ignoring him as it was. He was going to know that she wanted to break things off with him because of her feelings for Archie but there was nothing Betty could do about that. It’s how she felt and she had to let him know the truth, she at least owed him that much. She did love Jughead but not the way she loved Archie. He was the best person to her, the one she could tell anything to and he would never judge her for it. He was her best friend and the person that she trusted the most in the world. And that’s the person that she wanted to be with.
“It’s okay, you had your reasons, right? I did miss you though.” She was being honest, of course. She missed Archie. She missed him so much that not seeing him almost killed her. “You remember that night, Arch? The night where you and I had that moment….”, she asked, looking into his eyes, wanting him to just tell her that he wanted to kiss her just as much as she wanted to kiss him. She wasn’t sure how this was going to turn out or where it was going to go but Betty was always honest with Archie and she wanted to be now, too.
Noting Betty’s question, Archie nodded marginally, with an exhale of air splitting from both brims of his mouth. “ Yea. I just wanted to get away. Not think about that crazy night” Archie lifted a brow with his hues still holding an ardent glance on the female. With Betty bringing up the night of the kiss, another breath of air skidded from his mouth. He had hoped he could avoid this topic, at least for a little while longer. Lifting up his arm, Archie placed the palm of his hand on the nape of his neck, running his thumb across his awkwardly. “ Uh yea I do” Hesitation in his voice, as he moved his hues away from the female, down towards his guitar. Archie hit a few chords on his guitar lightly with his fingers, before stopping almost immediately. “ It was a lot going on I get it.” The words fluidly left his lips in a casual tone of voice.
“ You’re with Jughead, I’m with Ronnie. You said it yourself, it is the way it’s suppose to be.” Archie paused for brief moment, with his eyes attaching their glance once again to Betty. “ So why mess that up over something, we both didn’t mean to happen” The last thing Archie wanted to do was hurt Betty, he had done it once before and it killed him. The mere idea she still wanted him in her life, was astonishing. Maybe there were unresolved feelings for her, but Betty had a good thing with Jug, and Archie would be damned if he came in between them. If Archie and Betty continued on this path, she wouldn’t be the only that would get hurt. Ronnie and Jurghead would too, and he couldn't do that to any of his friends
Dropping his hand down, Archie grabbed the body of his guitar, pulling it closer to his chest. He inhaled a deep breath of air, as he kept a gaze on the female for another brief moment. “ Your my best friend Betty. That won’t ever change” He spoke in genuine tone. The corner of Archie’s mouth curled into a half smile. Silence filled the space between the two of them for a moment longer, before he proceded further with another remark. “ Have you eaten? I know a place around here that has a good milkshake. It’s no Pop’s but hey, what is right. “ A awkward laugh fell from his throat lightly.

furyqueen:
“i’m tr—” she stops herself, about to recall a name she demanded to shed. stripping away it’s associations to her history and torment, traci spoke with connor about changing it & she’d come to a conclusion. “i’m luna, i got carried away with my anger, of course i’m hurt but—it’s not his fault, nor is it yours so i shouldn’t have made you listen.”
“anyways, enough about that. you mentioned a song? what genre of music are you pursuing? if it’s alright with you—maybe i could help.”
" Hey Luna, it’s nice to meet you” A smile rested between both corners of Archie’s mouth at the female’s response, before shrugging his own shoulders slightly. “It didn’t bother me. It’s cool” The words departed from his mouth in a casual tone, with one of his brows arched. At the mention of his music, the smile between the crook of Arche’s mouth lifted wider. “ To be honest I don’t really know. I’m still kind of new to this whole music thing. Only discovered it just last summer.”
Archie’s hues diverted their glance back down towards his guitar. Placing his fingers on the chords, he played a few notes before pausing, followed by shifting his glance up towards the other again “ Do you play?” Intrigue heightened in his tone. It had been a while since he had done a duet with anyone or even written music with another. “ I’m not sure anyone can help, but sure why not, thanks” Archie’s smile remained rested across his cheeks.

the--girlnextdoor:
She heard her name being called and the first person that came to her mind was the person that was standing right in front of her. Crazy, wasn’t it? Archie. The boy that stole her heart from the very first moment that they had met. But things were so complicated between them. He was dating her best friend, Veronica and she was hating his best friend, Jughead, And yet they had kissed each other a few months ago and nothing had felt more perfect to Betty than that moment in his embrace. It was like everything had fallen into place and all she wanted to do was let him know that she loved him, that she was in love with him and all she wanted was to be with him. He was her best friend, her rock, her support system and yet she couldn’t do that. There were two other people involved, people that the blonde cared about and loved and she couldn’t be that selfish.
“Archie….”, she said with a really soft voiced followed by a small smile. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him slowly for a hug. Every time she was near Archie, she felt safe and in a city where she didn’t really know, at least she knew that she had him close to her and things wouldn’t be as difficult and complicated as they seemed even if their own relationship was. “How are you? I feel like we haven’t talked in months and I don’t really like that…”, she said pulling away but still looking at him. Maybe she should have told him how she felt but what if he didn’t feel the same? Or maybe that kiss was just in the heat of the moment because they had both been through a lot. Betty had made the first move once and he had told her differently. She couldn’t put herself through that hurt again.
Archie sat in silence making no movements, just glancing at the one who he needed, Betty Cooper. Sometimes when Archie closed his eyes, he could feel his body cave in, as if he was being buried in the coffin again. It was traumatizing, but what scared him more was something happening to her because of Blackhood or whatever else would erupt in Riverdale. Archie desperately hoped to avoid the talk of the kiss. The kiss that should have never happened. Archie should have pulled away, reminded Betty it was wrong but in that moment, he wasn’t even thinking about Ronnie and Jughead, just Betty.
Veronica often spoke of him being good, but how good could he be if he kissed her best friend and the girl Jughead was still way into. Dick move really. Archie wanted to blame it on confusion due to shared trauma or just trying to be there for Betty but he knew that wasn’t true, not entirely anyways. From the moment Veronica broke up with him, Archie felt different, almost as if his feelings for Betty that had been hidden for several months now if not more, finally shook loose. Maybe Ms Cooper had been right about him and he was selfish.
Wanting Ronnie and Betty was unfair. It was not an option. He couldn’t have them both, even if they were equally great. Ronnie had this hard exterior and not many people could get under her surface but for some reason she let Archie. Then there was Betty. She was his best friend, and was way too good for him. She was perfect in almost every way, he’d never measure up. “ I’m sorry I just left like that”
